We have carried out numerical simulations of the dynamical evolution of galaxy clusters taking into account merging when the relative velocities of the colliding galaxies are low. In particular, we study the evolution of the structure, mass spectrum, and velocity spectrum of a cluster of a thousand galaxies, as well as the growth of the central supermassive cD galaxy. The initial velocity dispersion of the galaxies and the rotation of the cluster were taken into account. The observed logarithmic spectrum dN\(\tfrac{{dM}}{M}\) was adopted as the initial mass spectrum. The dynamical evolution of galaxy clusters, allowing for the possible merging of colliding galaxies, results in the emergence of a central supermassive galaxy, whose mass continuously increases due to mergers. This occurs only if the mass of the central galaxy becomes greater than ~0.1 of the total mass of the cluster. The observation of cD galaxies with relative masses of ~0.01 suggests that they initially formed in the cluster core, merged with nearby galaxies, and accreted intergalactic gas. The model indicates that a logarithmic galaxy mass spectrum is preserved during the cluster evolution, despite the substantial decrease in the number of galaxies in the cluster with time. The model can also reproduce the observed mass distribution with distance from the cluster center, M r r 1.7.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to binary stars belonging to the class of eclipsing-variable systems.Photometric and spectroscopic analysis of eclipses allows us to determine geometric parameters of the orbit and physical characteristics of stellar components as well as inclinations of stellar equators to the orbital plane. Estimations of inclinations can be obtained from measurement of the Rossiter-McLaughlin effect, which is discussed using examples of some eccentric binaries with an anomalous apsidal effect. Our task is to find the complete spectrum of solutions of the equation of apsidal motion, depending on the inclinations of the polar axes of the components to the orbital one for these systems, based on their individual spectroscopic and photometric observational data. The matrix of solutions allows us to select those pairs of polar inclinations that provide agreement with the observational apsidal period.  相似文献

The scenario for the dynamical capture of a binary system in the neighborhood of a supermassive black hole used byHills in 1988 to predict the existence of hypervelocity stars (~1000 km/s) allows the existence of stars with relativistic velocities attaining (1/3?2/3)c, where c is the speed of light. The increase of the kinetic energy of these stars by more than a factor of 100 is due to the replacement of one component of the binary with a supermassive black hole. This scenario takes candidate of relativisti©velocity stars outside our Galaxy, into intergalactic space, where they could be ejected from merging galaxies populated by supermassive black holes. At present, this is a hypothetical class of stars with anomalous kinematics, but it is already posing a serious challenge for modern astrometry, which, like 300 years ago, is still concerned with the detection of proper motions. While this was related to stars in the solar neighborhood at the time of Halley, is now a problem for studies of the most remote and weakest stars in intergalactic space. Possibilities for detecting such stars must be based on estimates of their abundances, that is, on their statistics. This paper is based on a presentation made at the conference “Modern Astrometry 2017,” dedicated to the memory of K.V. Kuimov (Sternberg Astronomical Institute, Moscow State University, October 23–25, 2017).
