Identification of the interstellar cyanomethyl radical (CH2CN) in the molecular clouds TMC-1 and Sagittarius B2

We report the astronomical identification of the cyanomethyl radical, CH2CN, the heaviest nonlinear molecular radical to be identified in interstellar clouds. The complex fine and hyperfine structures of the lowest rotational transitions at about 20.12 and 40.24 GHz are resolved in TMC-1, where the abundance appears to be about 5 x 10(-9) relative to that of H2. This is significantly greater than the observed abundance of CH3CN (methyl cyanide) in TMC-1. In Sgr B2 the hyperfine structure is blended in the higher frequency transitions at 40, 80, and 100 GHz, although the spin-rotation doubling is clearly evident. Preliminary searches in other sources indicate that the distribution of CH2CN is similar to that for such carbon chain species as HC3N or C4H.     

Development of two novel CYP-antibodies and their use in a PCB exposure experiment with Mytilus edulis

In an attempt to learn more about the cytochrome P450 (CYP) system of mussels, we used protein databases and alignment software to extract highly conserved CYP sequences. From these alignments synthetic peptides were produced and used for rabbit immunisation, which yielded polyclonal antibodies against the CYP families 2 and 4. The antibodies were evaluated with Western Blot and ELISA assays, using digestive gland microsomal samples from the mussel Mytilus edulis. Western Blots revealed immunoreactions for both antibodies. The anti-CYP2 sequence rendered one major immunopositive protein of approximately 49 kDa size, and weak signals for proteins of approximately 41 and 56 kDa size. The anti-CYP4 sequence rendered two major bands of approximately 56 and 59 kDa size, and also a weak immunoreaction with a protein of approximately 43 kDa size. ELISA rendered only weak signals even with a 1:50 dilution of IgG-purified serum. A 10-day exposure to Aroclor 1254 did not appear to affect any of the immunopositive proteins, while total PCBs in soft bodies increased from 14-40 ng/g DW in controls to 373-638 ng/g DW in exposed mussels.     

辽西北票—义县地区义县旋回火山岩的岩石化学特征

辽西地区是中国中生代火山岩主要分布区之一。义县组分为4个岩性段。义县火山旋回可分为4个亚旋回。第一亚旋回分为4个小旋回。从早期至晚期，义县旋回火山岩逐渐由基性向中基性、中性和酸性演化，火山岩岩石组合为基性岩-中性岩-酸性岩组合，从北票-义县，火山活动显示了由老到新的迁移性。主要氧化物关系表明岩石的SiO2与K2O呈正相关，SiO2与MgO、CaO、FeO Fe2O3呈负相关。TAS图解反映了火山岩较高碱度的总体特征，硅-碱关系图和AFM图解反映了火山岩属于亚碱性系列中的钙碱性系列岩石，在SiO2-K2O关系图上，绝大部分样品落于高钾钙碱性系列区内，少量落于钾玄岩系列区，因此义县旋回火山岩以高钾钙碱性系列岩石为主，部分为钾玄岩系列，表明岩石富钾。义县旋回火山岩具有大陆板内火山岩的基本特征。

辽西金岭寺—羊山盆地北部土城子组层序地层特征及盆地演化

辽西金（金岭寺）－羊（羊山）盆地北部陆相红层土城子组非常发育，沉积物具有明显的旋回性。根据岩石组合、组构、沉积相及环境变化等分析，本区土城子组自下而上大体可划分为1个Ⅱ级层序、2个Ⅲ级层 序、26个Ⅳ级层序。在区域构造控制下，金－羊盆地北部在土城子期经历了两次湖扩张－湖萎缩过程，分别对应下部的冲积扇－干化湖、中部的冲积扇－风成沙漠和顶部的干化湖沉积。     

Survey of estrogenic and androgenic disruption in Swedish coastal waters by the analysis of bile fluid from perch and biomarkers in the three-spined stickleback

The potential for endocrine disruption close to sewage treatment plant and pulp mill effluent discharge points along the Swedish Baltic Sea coast was explored using a dual survey strategy employing two stationary fish species. The levels of vitellogenin and spiggin as biomarkers of endocrine disruption were determined in juvenile three-spined sticklebacks (Gasterosteus aculeatus L.) together with the sex ratios and the presence of intersex. As an indication of exposure, estrogenic and androgenic substances were analysed by GC–MS in bile from perch (Perca fluviatilis L.). Spiggin and vitellogenin levels in juvenile three-spined sticklebacks were generally low, and, for most sampling sites no deviation in gonad type ratios were observed. No remarkable levels of natural or synthetic estrogens or androgens were observed in bile fluid from perch, while bisphenol A and 4-nonylphenol were detected in perch from both reference sites and exposed sites. Taken together, the results did not indicate estrogenic or androgenic disruption in the investigated waters.
