Triassic outcrops in the Atlassic zone of northern Tunisia may be modelled in two ways: salt bodies piercing through Cretaceous terrains or Triassic salt flows stratified within an Albian series. Both models find support from gravity data and are debatable. To evaluate the mass distribution changes with depth, the Bouguer anomaly of the El Kef‐Ouargha region was successively decomposed into regional and residual components to construct multiple pseudo‐depth slices and apparent density maps. Analyses of gravity lows clearly show a vertical continuity of less dense materials below the Triassic salt outcrops. These features can be explained by salt diapirism during Mesozoic and Cenozoic. Further, gravity data tend to indicate less dense materials below Aptian outcropping in Jebel Aite (Oued Bou Adila); thus suggesting Triassic materials occurring at depth. In addition, dense entities were recognized under Mio‐Pliocene and Quaternary deposits, which are thought to correspond to Cretaceous paleoshoals currently collapsed by non‐outcropping faults. Our findings lend support to a diapir model intruding overburden rather than the salt glacier model stratified in the Albian series proposed by some authors as the genetic structural model for Triassic material‐bearing series in the north of Tunisia.  相似文献

We analyzed the feedback of AGN jets on cooling flow clusters using three-dimensional AMR hydrodynamic simulations. We studied the interaction of the jet with the intracluster medium and creation of low X-ray emission cavities (Bubbles) in cluster plasma. The distribution of energy input by the jet into the system was quantified in its different forms, i.e. internal, kinetic and potential. We find that the energy associated with the bubbles, (pV+γ pV/(γ−1)), accounts for less than 10 percent of the jet energy.  相似文献

In this technical note, we investigate the hypothesis that ‘non-linearity matters in the spatial mapping of complex patterns of groundwater arsenic contamination’. The spatial mapping pertained to data-driven techniques of spatial interpolation based on sampling data at finite locations. Using the well known example of extensive groundwater contamination by arsenic in Bangladesh, we find that the use of a highly non-linear pattern learning technique in the form of an artificial neural network (ANN) can yield more accurate results under the same set of constraints when compared to the ordinary kriging method. One ANN and a variogram model were used to represent the spatial structure of arsenic contamination for the whole country. The probability for successful detection of a well as safe or unsafe was found to be atleast 15% larger than that by kriging under the country-wide scenario. The probability of false hopes, which is a serious issue in public health monitoring was found to be significantly lower (by more than 10%) than that by kriging.  相似文献

The transition energies responsible for optical absorption spectra can be obtained by crystal-field analysis, but the transition intensities are notoriously difficult to calculate. This paper examines the basic ingredients of the calculation of optical spectrum intensities. Magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole transitions intensities are evaluated, as well as the direct d(Ni2+) to p(O2−) electric dipole transitions. All these contributions are shown to be small in the optical range, so that spectral intensities are due to the mixing of odd orbitals with the Ni2+ 3d n states.
