Abstract We have studied the behavior of nonlinear waves in isothermal atmospheres using an improved beam scheme method. It is shown that although the magnitude of the mass leakage due to side beams is significant, nevertheless in a motion close to hydrostatic equilibrium it can be suppressed, if special density distributions and/or suitable mesh intervals are selected. We adopt as the parameters for our model of the atmospheres M=1 M[odot], R=50 R[odot] and T=4864 K. The time variation of the physical quantities in each cell is found for several oscillation periods. The critical frequency for the model atmosphere in the case of waves with a weak nonlinearity seems to be consistent with that in the linear theory. 相似文献

Pore-pressure depletion causes changes in the triaxial stress state. Pore-pressure depletion in a flat reservoir, for example, can be reasonably approximated as uniaxial compaction, in which the horizontal effective stress change is smaller than the vertical effective stress. Furthermore, the stress sensitivity of velocities can be angle-dependent. Therefore, time-lapse changes in reservoir elastic anisotropy are expected as a consequence of production, which can complicate the interpretation of the 4D seismic response. The anisotropic 4D seismic response caused by pore-pressure depletion was investigated using existing core velocity measurements. To make a direct comparison between the anisotropic 4D seismic response and the isotropic response based only on vertical velocities, pseudoisotropic elastic properties were utilized, and the two responses were compared in terms of a dynamic rock physics template. A comparison of the dynamic rock physics templates indicates that time-lapse changes in reservoir elastic anisotropy have a noticeable impact on the interpretation of 4D seismic data. Changes in anisotropy as a result of pore-pressure depletion cause a time-lapse amplitude variation with offset response as if there is a reduction in VP/VS (i.e., pseudoisotropic VP/VS decreases), although the vertical VP/VS increases. The impact of time-lapse changes in anisotropy on the amplitude variation with offset gradient was also investigated, and the time-lapse anisotropy was found to enhance changes in the amplitude variation with offset gradient for a given case. 相似文献

An evaluation method for the mechanical behavior of unsaturated soils is studied in this paper. Although the mechanical behavior
of unsaturated soils is complicated, a simple modeling is preferable in practice. This is because the soil properties are
not homogeneous and ground data is limited when structures are being designed. In addition, in order to evaluate the reliability
of the design, the physical meanings of the parameters applied in the prediction model should be clear. Firstly, the authors
study the relationship between compaction curves and compression indexes in the unsaturated state that is used in the proposed
constitutive model. Based on the constitutive model, the stress paths for constant volume shear tests are formulated under
a constant void ratio condition and the stress paths for undrained shear tests are calculated under a constant water content
condition. In the case of unsaturated specimens, the volume of these specimens changes with the shear deformation and the
stress paths depend on the initial degree of saturation. The results of the calculation qualitatively describe the test results
by considering the changes in effective confining pressure in the undrained condition and the water retention curves. 相似文献

The 2014 Iyonada Earthquake, which occurred at 02:06 JST on 14 March, measured 6.2 on the Richter scale and originated in the Seto Inland Sea of Japan. To elucidate tsunami evacuation behavior, we examined two coastal communities in Kochi Prefecture, Okitsu and Mangyo, where residents evacuated to high ground in anticipation of a tsunami. In the event of a Nankai megathrust earthquake and tsunami, it is expected that a huge tsunami will be generated and these communities will be severely damaged. Before the Iyonada Earthquake, we had previously collected data about tsunami preparedness and evacuation plans from the residents of these communities, and after the earthquake, we conducted in-depth interviews and questionnaire surveys with the residents regarding the actual evacuation behaviors that they took. This enabled us to compare evacuation plans with evacuation behaviors. Results indicate that many residents responded quickly to the earthquake, either by immediately evacuating to emergency shelters on high ground or by preparing themselves for evacuation. Additionally, the earthquake revealed great differences between the prior evacuation plans and the actual situation of residents’ evacuation, such as specific triggers that significantly led residents to evacuate and the use of vehicles in evacuation. 相似文献
