We carried out observations of sea-level fluctuations simultaneously at three stations on the coast of Heda Bay, Honshu, Japan, using supersonic-type water level gauges controlled by a personal computer. Analyses of the obtained data showed predominant spectral peaks at periods of 7.6, 2.0 and 1.3 minutes for all three stations. Comparison of the observed data with numerically calculated normal oscillation modes of the bay indicates that these three spectral peaks correspond to the theoretical first, third and seventh normal modes of the basin respectively, judging from the results of cross-spectral analyses. The reason for the absence of the remaining normal modes, especially of the second or the lateral first mode of the basin, is briefly considered. 相似文献

Seasonal variation of the current in the Tsushima Strait deduced from ADCP data of ship-of-opportunity 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The ADCP data obtained in the Tsushima Strait in the period from February 1987 to November 1990 on board twelve patrol vessels and one research vessel belonging to Maritime Safety Agency was analyzed. Total amount of the data is 200,053, but after quality check, we used 158,401 data for the analysis of the current field and its variability in the strait. The seasonal variation of the currents had been believed to be large. However, no direct current observation throughout the season had been made, and the knowledge on the seasonal variation was derived indirectly from the data of the sea level difference across the strait and of the density field given by hydrographic observations. ADCP data indicates that the seasonal variation of the current field is considerably small in all sub-regions. In the relatively strong current region to the west of the Tsushima Island, the northeast current component has maximum value in the early winter season. 相似文献

Abstract Thermal maturity of the Upper Triassic to Lower Jurassic Nampo Group, a sediment-fill of the Chungnam Basin located in the central western part of South Korea, was assessed by illite crystallinity measurement and sandstone microtexture analysis. The Nampo Group consists of a fluvio-lacustrine deposit bearing meta-anthracitic coals and was over-thrusted by the basement rocks. Sandstones are characterized by down sequence increasing illite crystallinity, from anchizone to epizone, which is strongly suggestive of burial heating. Deep-burial diagenesis and deformation are evidenced by well-developed pressure solution textures, whose intensity tends to increase down sequence, and by ductile deformation in the lowermost strata. On the basis of the result of illite crystallinity measurement, the maximum paleo-temperature and total burial depth of the Nampo Group are estimated to be ca 340°C and 10 km, respectively; these conditions are in good agreement with the observed ductile deformation features. The absence of strata younger than the Nampo Group in and around the Chungnam Basin suggests that deep burial of the Nampo Group was caused by tectonic crustal loading. The tectonic overload was because of basement over-thrusting that occurred during the Jurassic Daebo orogeny, which is closely related to the orthogonal subduction of the Izanagi Plate beneath the East Asian continent. Subsequent hydrothermal alteration disturbed the thermal maturity pattern, resulting in anomalously high illite crystallinity and meta-anthracitization. 相似文献

This is the first sedimentologic and stratigraphic attempt to demonstrate Jurassic subduction-induced basin-filling processes in the early stage of the western Circum-Pacific orogeny. The Chungnam Basin in western Korea was filled with a Lower to Middle Jurassic nonmarine succession, the Nampo Group, whose deposition postdated the Triassic final assembly of Chinese continental blocks. The Nampo Group consists of two repeated, fining- to coarsening-upward alluvio-lacustrine sequences, separated by an interval of thick breccia–gravel progradation deposits and its related strong proximal unconformities. No temporal variation in the degree of chemical weathering, along with the predominance of coals and a tropic to subtropic paleoflora, reveals little or no climate fluctuations during deposition of the Nampo Group. The observed relationships provide a record of sedimentation most likely controlled by temporal variations of tectonically driven sediment flux. Such syntectonic sedimentation of the Chungnam Basin occurred at a convergent margin of continental-arc setting during the Daebo orogeny, synchronous with the early subduction of the western paleo-Pacific ocean that resulted in formation of an accretionary complex along the East Asian continental margin during Jurassic time. Hence, synorogenic deposition in the Chungnam Basin is interpreted as sedimentary response to subduction–accretion of the western paleo-Pacific plate. 相似文献
