<正>Ground motion records are often used to develop ground motion prediction equations(GMPEs) for a randomly oriented horizontal component,and to assess the principal directions of ground motions based on the Arias intensity tensor or the orientation of the major response axis.The former is needed for seismic hazard assessment,whereas the latter can be important for assessing structural responses under multi-directional excitations.However,a comprehensive investigation of the pseudo-spectral acceleration(PSA) and of GMPEs conditioned on different axes is currently lacking.This study investigates the principal directions of strong ground motions and their relation to the orientation of the major response axis, statistics of the PSA along the principal directions on the horizontal plane,and correlation of the PSA along the principal directions on the horizontal plane.For these,three sets of strong ground motion records,including intraplate California earthquakes,inslab Mexican earthquakes,and interface Mexican earthquakes,are used.The results indicate that one of the principal directions could be considered as quasi-vertical.By focusing on seismic excitations on the horizontal plane,the statistics of the angles between the major response axis and the major principal axis are obtained;GMPEs along the principal axes are provided and compared with those obtained for a randomly oriented horizontal component;and statistical analysis of residuals associated with GMPEs along the principal directions is carried out.  相似文献

Macroscopic reason for the development of turbulences in fluid is the conjunction action of velocity and temperature shears. 利用常规实测资料、NCEP刷CAR再分析资料、T213分析资料,对绵阳地区2008年9月22—27日出现的持续性暴雨过程进行环流形势及物理量场分析,结果表明:此次降水过程可分为两个明显的降水时段,其区域不同、强度不一;副高、冷空气、两条水汽通道以及台风是此次过程的主要影响系统;第一降水时段的各物理量水平皆大于第二时段,不稳定能量、水汽和气流的辐合、辐散区分布及上升下沉气流的位置和强度对暴雨的强度和落区预报有较好的指示意义。  相似文献

针对大气电场仪进行雷电预警误报率高的问题,提出了一种利用多站大气电场仪组网观测地面电场,并结合闪电定位系统的观测进行雷电预警的方法。该方法结合了大气电场仪与闪电定位仪的优点,利用电场强度阈值和闪电发生的距离阈值,得出雷电预警等级的方法。采用此方法可以降低仅用电场强度来预警所造成的误报率,并能估计出雷暴的移动方向。经检验,此方法TS评分为0.73,漏报率为0.21,空报率为0.09。此算法对于由远及近的雷电活动,或者距离很近的雷电活动有较高的预警准确率。算法对10km内的强雷暴预警效果最好。  相似文献

结合三维遥感影像解译提出一种定量的泥石流土石量计算方法。在泥石流汇水区内对地形进行0次谷与1次谷划分,按可搬运的物质总量和一次降雨所能搬运的物质总量两种方式进行分析,使计算结果更加精细化;以数字高程模型(DEM)与降雨所搬运的土石总量作为影响范围模拟的基础,利用GIS空间分析功能分析泥石流汇水区的横截面面积及区域平面面积等地形参数,判别土石产出量与地形参数关系,实现泥石流影响范围的模拟。分析结果可为潜在泥石流危险区域评价预测提供参考。  相似文献

The presence of arsenic (As) in water is of great public concern. Arsenic exists in three common valence states viz., As(0) metalloid arsenic, As(III) (arsenite) and As(V) (arsenate). Arsenite [As(III)] is the most toxic form among arsenicals which, predominates in anaerobic conditions, generally in flooded soils and in the water with high BOD. Experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of As(III) on the mycorrhization in vetiver (Vetiveria zizanioides (L.) Nash) grass in hydroponics. Studies showed significant alteration in the mycorrhizal colonization in the roots of vetiver exposed to higher concentrations of As(III) starting from 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 to 5.0 mg/L prepared in 5% Hoagland nutrient solution without addition of phosphate ions. Considerable reduction in the mycorrhizal intensity (M) was observed in all the treatment sets as compared to the control suggesting a negative impact of the As(III) on the mycorrhizal association. Simultaneously, the study also showed that, As(III) is toxic to the vetiver plants having mycorrhizal association however plants with non‐mycorrhizal (cleansed) roots were found to be able to survive for a longer period exposed to As(III).  相似文献

Two existing, contemporary ground motion selection and modification procedures – (i) exact conditional spectrum (CS‐exact) and (ii) generalized conditional intensity measure (GCIM) – are evaluated in their ability to accurately estimate seismic demand hazard curves (SDHCs) of a given structure at a specified site. The amount of effort involved in implementing these procedures to compute a single SDHC is studied, and a case study is chosen where rigorous benchmark SDHCs can be determined for evaluation purposes. By comparing estimates from ground motion selection and modification procedures with the benchmark, we conclude that estimates from CS‐exact are unbiased in many of the cases considered. The estimates from GCIM are even more accurate, as they are unbiased for most – but not all – of the cases where estimates from CS‐exact are biased. We find that it is possible to obtain biased SDHCs from GCIM, even after employing a very diverse collection of intensity measures to select ground motions and implementing its bias‐checking feature, because it is usually difficult to identify intensity measures that are truly ‘sufficient’ for the response of a complex, multi‐degree‐of‐freedom system. Effective impervious area (EIA), or the portion of total impervious area (TIA) that is hydraulically connected to the storm sewer system, is an important parameter in determining actual urban runoff. EIA has implications in watershed hydrology, water quality, environment, and ecosystem services. The overall goal of this study is to evaluate the application of successive weighted least square (WLS) method to urban catchments with different sizes and various hydrologic conditions to determine EIA fraction. Other objectives are to develop insights on the data selection issues, EIA fraction, EIA/TIA ratio, and runoff source area patterns in urban catchments. The successive WLS method is applied to 50 urban catchments with different sizes from less than 1 ha to more than 2000 ha in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Texas, USA as well as Europe, Canada, and Australia. The average, median, and standard deviation of EIA fractions for the 42 catchments with residential land uses are found to be 0.222, 0.200, and 0.113, respectively. These values for the EIA/TIA ratio in the same 42 catchments are 0.50, 0.48, and 0.21, respectively. While the EIA/TIA results indicate the importance of EIA, 95% prediction interval of the mean EIA/TIA is found to be 0.07 to 0.93, which shows that using an average value for this ratio in each land use to determine EIA from TIA in ungauged urban watersheds can be misleading.
