Badland areas are usually regarded as impermeable zones which generate high runoff and are very vulnerable to sheetwash and rainsplash. To test those considerations sprinkling experiments using two rainfall simulators were carried out on slopes of varying aspect in the northern Negev (Israel). For one unit 1·5 m2 plots were used with rainfall of natural characteristics at 36 mm/hr intensity and 43–48 minute duration, runoff being recorded and water/sediment samples taken every 5 minutes. The second unit was used on 30–50 m2 plots but rainfall energy production was below that of natural rainfall. Results show that due to the high stability and strong flocculation of clay-rich aggregates rainsplash is ineffective in surface sealing so that infiltration capacities remain high despite intense, prolonged rainfall. Aspect differences are reflected in variation of surface properties despite homogenous bed-rock, which cause marked differences in hydrological response. North-facing slopes respond more quickly, more frequently and produce more runoff than south-facing slopes. Non-uniform runoff generation is also seen within plots of one aspect reflecting subtle variations in surface properties. Comparison of rainfall intensity and duration used during the experiments with those prevailing under natural conditions shows that under present day conditions surface flow in the Zin valley badlands must be extremely infrequent and denudation rates very low. 相似文献

Previous researches on yield properties of frozen soil rarely consider the change of water content. However,water content often changes in practical engineering. So a series of triaxial compressive tests are con⁃ ducted on ice-rich frozen silty sands at -5. 0 ℃ to investigate systemically the effect of water content on yield properties and then to establish a relationship between deviatoric stress and shear strain with change of water con⁃ tent. The experimental results show that with water content changing,there are obvious changes in the stress-strain curves,which show that water content has different influence on hardening law in different ranges of water content. So the concrete form about yield function should be determined according to ranges of plastic shear strain(hardening parameter)and water content to make the yield function simple and accurate. When plastic shear strain is within 1. 00%,deviatoric stress always increases with water content. However,with water con⁃ tent increasing,deviatoric stress firstly decreases and then increases when plastic shear strain is beyond 1. 00%. And water content of 42. 0% can be regard as a turning point. The yield function and the increment type relation between deviatoric stress and shear strain have been established with change of water content by segmented hard⁃ ening principle. The testing results show that experimental values are basically consistent with simulated values. Slip zones of the large landslides in the Three Gorges area are commonly composed of fine-grained soils with substantial amount of coarse-grained particles, particularly gravel-sized particles. In this study, residual strength of the soils from slip zones of these landslides were examined in relation to their index properties based on a survey of 170 landslides. It was found that laboratory-determined residual friction angle using gravel-free fraction of the disturbed soils from the slip zones was closely related to clay content, liquid limit and plasticity index. On the other hand, in-situ residual friction angle of these soils (i.e. including gravel fraction) showed very weak correlations with clay content and Atterberg limits, but was largely dependent on gravel and fines (clays + silts) contents, increasing with gravels and decreasing with fines, and displayed strong linear correlation with the ratio of gravel to fines contents. These observations indicate that among the index properties, clay content and Atterberg limits can be used to estimate residual strength of the soils finer than 2 mm, but they are not appropriate evaluate the residual strength of the soils containing considerable amount of gravel-sized particles. For the latter, particle size distribution (particularly the ratio of gravel to fines contents) appears to be a useful index. Additionally, it was found that there was no identifiable correlation between relative abundance of individual major clay minerals and residual friction angles of both gravel-free fraction of disturbed and in-situ soils, suggesting that influence of clay minerals on residual strength of these soils can not be simply evaluated based on their abundance. 相似文献

目前,阵列声波测井信号处理大多在时间域或频率域中进行。但是,单纯的时间域或频率域方法有很大的局限性。为了打破这些局限性,笔者将分数阶Fourier变换方法用于阵列声波测井信号的分析之中,研究了不同性质储集层中信号幅度随分数阶Fourier变换阶数变化的规律。实验结果表明:在干层,幅度呈"1"型分布;在水层,幅度呈"Y"型分布,"Y"的两支开口较小,在阶数大于0.3的区域中,幅度较大;在油层,幅度呈"Y"型分布,"Y"的两支开口较大,在阶数大于0.6的区域中,幅度较大。因此,分数阶Fourier变换在提取阵列声波测井蕴含的储集层流体性质信息方面具有很好的前景。 相似文献

由于地下水位的升降等原因,岩体经常处于干湿交替状态,这对岩体工程的长期稳定性不利。以红砂岩为研究对象,进行了干燥-饱水干湿交替作用后的常规单轴和三轴压缩试验研究,获得了砂岩应力-应变曲线,分析了其变形破坏特征。相对于没有经过干湿交替作用的干燥试件,经过不同次数的干燥-饱水交替作用后,砂岩的弹性模量、单轴和三轴抗压强度、黏聚力、内摩擦角等都有不同程度的降低。各力学指标的总体变化趋势是在第1次饱水之后均有较大幅度的下降,此后,随着干湿交替作用次数增加其降低的幅度逐渐减小,干湿交替作用使岩石的延性增强。在围压作用下,砂岩的峰值强度均随着围压的增大而增大,干燥试件强度的围压效应要比多次干湿交替作用后的试件显著。 相似文献

Geologically constrained inversion of gravity and magnetic field data of the Victoria property (located in Sudbury, Canada) was undertaken in order to update the present three‐dimensional geological model. The initial and reference model was constructed based on geological information from over 950 drillholes to constrain the inversion. In addition, downhole density and magnetic susceptibility measured in six holes were statistically analysed to derive lower and upper bounds on the physical properties attributed to the lithological units in the reference model. Constrained inversion of the ground gravity and the airborne magnetic data collected at the Victoria property were performed using GRAV3D and MAG3D, respectively. A neural network was trained to predict lithological units from the physical properties measured in six holes. Then, the trained network was applied on the three‐dimensional distribution of physical properties derived from the inversion models to produce a three‐dimensional litho‐prediction model. Some of the features evident in the lithological model are remnants of the constraints, where the data did not demand a significant change in the model from the initial constraining model (e.g., the thin pair of diabase dykes). However, some important changes away from the initial model are evident; for example, a larger body was predicted for quartz diorite, which may be related to the prospective offset dykes; a new zone was predicted as sulfide, which may represent potential mineralisation; and a geophysical subcategory of metabasalt was identified with high magnetic susceptibility and high density. The litho‐prediction model agrees with the geological expectation for the three‐dimensional structure at Victoria and is consistent with the geophysical data, which results in a more holistic understanding of the subsurface lithology. 相似文献

Finite Element (FE) modeling under plane stress condition is used to analyze the fault type variation with depth along and around the San Andreas Fault (SAF) zone. In this simulation elastic rheology was used and was thought justifiable as the variation in depth from 0.5 km to 20 km was considered. Series of calculations were performed with the variation in domain properties. Three types of models were created based on simple geological map of California, namely, 1) single domain model considering whole California as one homogeneous domain, 2) three domains model including the North American plate, Pacific plate, and SAF zone as separate domains, and 3) Four domains model including the three above plus the Garlock Fault zone. Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion and Byerlee's law were used for the calculation of failure state. All the models were driven by displacement boundary condition imposing the fixed North American plate and Pacific plate motion along N34°W vector up to the northern terminus of SAF and N50°E vector motion for the subducting the Gorda and Juan de Fuca plates. Our simulated results revealed that as the depth increased, the fault types were generally normal, and at shallow depth greater strike slip and some thrust faults were formed. It is concluded that SAF may be terminated as normal fault at depth although the surface expression is clearly strike slip. 相似文献

The short-term evolution of spheroidal galaxies has been explored by S. Chandrasekhar et al. and G. S. Sunder et al. In this paper, we study their long-term evolution with Laskar's method of frequency analysis. The main new results are as follows: (1) There exists a unique equilibrium, which is spherically symmetric. This equilibrium has a critical linear stability. (2) Generally speaking, the semi-axes exhibit quasiperiodic or nearly quasi-periodic (in a time scale longer than a Hubble time) oscillations around the radius of the above-mentioned equilibrium, so the equilibrium is practically stable. (3) There are cases in which one of the semi-axes tends fast to zero while the other to some finite value. The limit state is generally planar rather than linear, i.e. it is the symmetric semi-axis that tends to zero. This implies that some disk galaxies may have originated from spheroidal pregalaxy material. 相似文献
