CHANGES IN U.S. NATIONAL MOBILITY LEVELS*

This paper investigates the decline in the national mobility level that occurred during 1970-1983. The effects of generation size are discussed in detail; bigger generations may move at lower rates because of the increased competition for jobs and housing. The changing age composition of the population will imply further mobility declines during coming decades if age-specific mobility rates remain constant. A consideration of anticipated changes in the size of the young adult cohort suggests that the national mobility rate may increase slightly over the next decade, before beginning a relatively modest decline during 1995-2040.     

国家资源环境安全要素的综合评价

资源环境安全问题始终是世界各国持续发展的核心任务和基本需求。考虑到单要素和整体两大分析方法的不足 ,作者提出了一种具有针对性的要素综合分析方法。根据世界 10个人口 1亿以上国家的抽样分析表明 ,土地、水资源、矿产及生态环境的整体状态是决定国家资源环境安全的基本要素群体。与此同时 ,为了改善国家 ,特别是发展中国家的资源环境脆弱状态和提高其稳定程度 ,第一是严格控制人口增长 ;第二是努力推进本国资源环境开发的国际化进程 ;第三是增大智力投入以提高资源深化加工程度 ;第四是加大本国生态环境保护力度。     

社会产品分配核算的再认识--兼谈帐户法核算国民最终收入

随着我国国民核算体系向SNA体系的转变，使国民核算的生产范围扩大了，社会产品的内容更丰富了，社会产品分配的界限不同了，社会产品分配的结果也变化了。通过对社会产品内容的确定，分析了社会产品在各部门的分配情况，提出了如何用帐户法核算各部门的分配结果——各部门的最终收入。     

TREE INVASION IN MEADOWS OF LASSEN VOLCANIC NATIONAL PARK,CALIFORNIA*

The causes of tree invasion into meadows in Lassen Volcanic National Park were investigated by dating invasive trees and associating age structure patterns with regional variations in fire history, grazing, and climate change. Massive invasion was associated primarily with cessation of livestock grazing and burning between 1905 and 1933, but climatic change may also have contributed. Maintenance of meadows may require continued use of unnatural processes due to uncertainties about pre-European fire regimes and other resource considerations.

一种计算图斑净面积的新方法

在图斑净面积计算规则下,对地类图斑和线状地物两个图层的组织结构和相互关系展开研究,提出Arc-Map空间分析计算图斑净面积方法。采用实例验证了该方法的可行性和准确性,通过对比分析可以看出,Arc-Map空间分析法具有良好的使用和推广价值。     

The Utility and Organization of a College Field Course: Examining National Park Management

Abstract

This article reviews the benefits of field-based instruction, particularly as it complements traditional classroom learning. It suggests that direct observation and hands-on learning associated with field-based instruction raise students' interest level and improve their understanding and long-term retention of targeted concepts. In addition, planning, implementation, and evaluation strategies are provided and recommendations are outlined for instructors interested in organizing or improving a field course at their learning institution. The park management field course offered between spring and summer semesters at Oklahoma State University provides an example of the major components of a successful field course.
