INDUSTRY-GOVERNMENT-ACADEMIC COOPERATION: POSSIBLE BENEFITS FOR GEOGRAPHY

Some current developments outside of academe and their relationship to geography are presented; comments are based on experience from a three year National Science Foundation Faculty Fellowship. Suggestions for improving our educational efforts are discussed, including new roles for the AAG, changes in teaching methods, establishment of advisory boards, and closer ties with industry and government.     

基于文献库资源看中国页岩气产业的发展历程和趋势

基于中国文献数据库,检索了页岩气相关文献,归纳分析1990—2013年中国发表的有关页岩气文献的总体分布情况,总结了中国页岩气发展历程,对中国页岩气开发利用中未来应关注的问题及发展趋势进行了探讨,结果表明,中国页岩气尚未完全摸清家底,也未掌握页岩气开发的关键技术,还没有形成一套适合中国的页岩气开发理论技术体系,若希望依靠本土企业实现中国页岩气商业开发,仍需较长的时间。     

文化创意产业的地理学研究进展

从20世纪90年代开始,西方人文地理学与社会学、新闻传播学、城市规划、经济学等学科一道对文化创意产业进行了一系列的研究。这些研究涉及了很多议题。其中与地理学关系较为密切的包括：文化创意产业的概念和特征;产业的空间集聚;城市环境与文化创意产业发展的关系;以及文化创意产业研究的方法等。由于文化创意产业作为一种经济现象是新生事物,上述每一个议题都充满争议。西方地理学在这一领域取得了引人瞩目的成就,并且对城市政策、文化政策领域产生了实质性的影响,十分值得我国地理学界加以借鉴。针对我国国情,笔者指出文化创意产业集聚区的发展政策,地方社会文化环境对文化创意产业发展的影响,文化、经济与地理理论的结合应当是我国地理学界当前主要关注的议题。     

《干旱区地理》的引文统计分析

本文使用文献计量学中的引文分析方法,以《干旱区地理》为调查样本进行了统计分析。《干旱地理》１９８５－１９９４年共版４３期,刊登论文５５８篇,其中附有引文的论文４３６篇,引文２７６６条。     

Global divides: Deconstructing the way we see the world should not be left to senior geography

Terms such as ‘Third World/First World’, ‘Developing/Developed’ are still in common usage despite many commentators and educators signalling that they are inadequate. Using empirical evidence from research in New Zealand, this paper discusses how these dividing terms may be under stress among young people who seek new ways of learning about places and people. In conceptualising the South Pacific, terms like ‘developing world’ may be challenged by young people. Debating these terms at all levels of education is important and should not merely be left to tertiary levels.     

乡村空间重构的理论研究进展与理论框架构建

在新时代城乡融合发展、乡村地域人地关系日益复杂的背景下,乡村空间重构成为乡村地理学研究的重要课题。西方“后生产主义”语境下,乡村空间研究开始出现消费转向、社会-文化转向和后现代转向,多功能、全球化乡村转型与空间重构研究成为西方乡村空间研究的热点;国内研究主要基于乡村地理学人地关系地域系统理论展开乡村空间重构过程—机理—调控研究以及微观视角下农户经济空间行为研究;当前,中国乡村空间重构呈现自上而下的政治经济学转型特征,具有中国特色的农村集体组织与政府、企业、个人等其他主体之间的空间-权力关系成为乡村空间重构的重要视角。政治经济地理学及“社会-空间”二元辩证法为乡村空间重构研究提供了很好的研究范式与研究方法,乡村空间重构研究应系统整合空间生产、主体能动性、土地资本化、社会关系网络、人地关系地域系统和农户地理等政治经济学、地理学理论,强化自然、经济、社会和文化等多要素相互作用及其空间响应机制研究,重点开展多要素多维度的乡村空间格局形成及演变规律研究、乡村社会空间再生产研究、能动性视角下乡村劳动力空间生产研究、政府政策制度与城乡空间治理体系创新研究。     

A multi-equation spatial econometric model,with application to EU manufacturing productivity growth

A multi-equation spatial econometric model is used to explain variations across EU regions in manufacturing productivity growth based on recent theoretical developments in urban economics and economic geography. The paper shows that temporal and spatial parameter homogeneity is an unrealistic assumption, contrary to what is typically assumed in the literature. Constraints are imposed on parameters across time periods and between core and peripheral regions of the EU, with the significant loss of fit providing overwhelming evidence of parameter heterogeneity, although the final model does highlight increasing returns to scale, which is a central feature of contemporary theory.

BELGIAN SETTLEMENT AND SOCIETY IN THE INDIANA RUST BELT*

ABSTRACT. At first glance the industrial city of Mishawaka, near the northern border of Indiana, appears to be ethnically homogeneous. Closer examination, however, reveals the rich ethnic heritage of Mishawaka, as it does in so many other Rust Belt cities from Pittsburgh to Chicago. One of the most fascinating of these immigrant stories is the rise of Belgian Town, on Mishawaka's southwest side. This study examines residential, commercial, and social patterns of this evolving ethnic community during the first three decades of the twentieth century. Although industrial jobs attracted immigrants to the city, creation of a Flemish Catholic church provided the foundation on which to build a tightly knit Belgian community.     

城市居住-就业空间特征及组织模式——以广州市为例

作为城市居民生活与生产的两大载体,城市居住与就业用地及其空间组织对城市发展及空间格局起着重要的作用。随着中国城市社会经济和城市规划建设的发展,大城市居住-就业的空间格局发展巨大的变化。本文以广州为案例,分析了广州市居住-就业空间均衡性、宏观空间组织模式和不同片区的居住-就业中微观空间组织模式等,并从历史因素、政府因素、市场因素和社会因素等角度揭示了广州"自上而下"和"自下而上"两种力量共同作用下,居住-就业空间格局的演化过程和规律。论文倡导多元化的土地开发模式,提倡从居住与就业空间协调的角度调节交通需求的空间分布,进而优化城市空间结构,达到提高城市运作效率的目的,并试图在研究视角上为国内其他城市的同类研究提供借鉴。
