This paper discusses multi-step drainage experiments in two heterogeneously packed sand columns (10 × 10 × 20 cm3). Different packing structures were generated using two different sand types. One purpose of the study was to test the influence of packing structures on the movement of water. The second purpose was to assess the quality of predictions for the outflow curves in both columns made with an upscaled model. The heterogeneous structures of the columns can be considered as two opposing extremes. The first column was packed with a random arrangement of two sand types that is not stochastically homogeneous and where a cluster running through the column exists for both materials. The second column was packed with a periodic pattern of coarse-sand inclusions in a fine-sand background and has a clearly defined unit cell. The depth-averaged (2D) spatial distribution of the water content in the columns was monitored during the whole multi-step outflow experiment using neutron radiography. The 3D water content was measured at the steady states by neutron tomography. The experimental results are compared with the model predictions of an upscaled model derived with the homogenization theory. The parameters for the upscaled model are calculated from the hydraulic parameters of the two sand types. These hydraulic parameters were first identified in independent measurements on samples of the two individual sand types, separately. Additionally, the hydraulic parameters of both sands were identified by fitting a numerical model to the measured outflow curves. The different column structures showed a significant effect on water retention and the effective retention function, as water was trapped in the coarse-sand inclusions of the periodic structure. We included this trapping effect in the effective retention function of the upscaled model with an apparent air entry pressure. Contrary to the retention, the different packing structures had no large effect on the dynamic behavior of the outflow. The effective conductivity of the columns is therefore not significantly influenced by the structure. The upscaled models predicted the movement of the averaged water content in the two columns well. This confirms the applicability of upscaled models even if the underlying requirements are not strictly met.  相似文献

本文采用一种新的交错网格-Lebedev网格(LG)进行TTI介质的正演模拟研究,避免了Virieux标准交错网格(SSG)算法在处理TTI、单斜等各向异性介质时波场插值引入的数值误差,提高了模拟精度.在方法实现过程中,本文针对有限差分正演模拟面临的网格频散与边界反射两个关键性问题分别做了优化,并通过模型试算验证了它们的有效性与可行性:(1)结合最小二乘思想推导出新的频散改进差分系数(DIC),该系数比Taylor系数更能有效地压制粗网格引起的数值频散,可以节约内存,提高计算效率;(2)将分裂的多轴完全匹配层(M-PML)吸收边界条件引入到LG算法中,解决了传统PML边界条件在某些各向异性介质中的不稳定现象并且具有较好的边界吸收效果.  相似文献

逆时偏移作为一种高精度偏移方法已成为复杂构造成像的重要技术,描述纵波独立传播的延拓方程是各向异性介质逆时偏移的一个关键问题.在对VTI介质几个经典相速度近似公式回顾的基础上,针对常用于描述纯P波的Harlan近似公式在各向异性参数ε较大情况下近似精度较低的问题,本文对Harlan公式中的非椭圆项进行了修正,在非椭圆项前添加了一个与各向异性参数ε有关的修正系数,得到了三种改进型Harlan公式,并以近似精度最高的改进式为基础,推导了TTI介质纯P波方程.针对该伪微分方程,本文利用伪谱法和有限差分法联合实现波场延拓,对于常密度二阶方程,基于中心网格实现;对于一阶应力-速度方程则基于旋转交错网格实现.通过数值试验分析了TTI介质纯P波一阶应力-速度方程的近似精度,并以一阶纯P波方程为基础进行了TTI介质逆时偏移数值模拟试验.结果表明,本文给出的方法能够较准确地描述TTI介质纯P波波场特征,可以应用至各向异性介质逆时偏移.  相似文献

时间域常Q黏声波方程,由于含分数阶时间导数项,数值求解需要大量内存,计算效率低,不利于地震偏移的实施.通过一系列近似,可将该方程简化为介质频散效应和衰减效应解耦的分数阶拉普拉斯算子黏声波方程,数值求解内存需求少,计算效率高.本文采用交错网格有限差分逼近时间导数,改进的伪谱法计算空间导数,PML吸收边界去除边界反射,对该方程进行数值离散和地震正演模拟,开展地震数据的黏声介质逆时偏移,实现波场逆时延拓过程中同时完成频散校正和衰减补偿.改善深层构造的成像精度,数值结果表明,基于分数阶拉普拉斯算子解耦的黏声介质地震正演模拟与逆时偏移可大幅度提高地震模拟计算效率,偏移剖面明显优于常规声波偏移剖面,极大改善深层构造的成像品质.  相似文献

本文通过数值模拟研究了介质黏弹性对瑞雷波传播的影响.模拟采用结合了交错Adams-Bashforth时间积分法、应力镜像法和多轴完美匹配层的标准交错网格高阶有限差分方案.通过模拟结果和理论结果对比,测试了方法的精度,验证了结果的正确性.在均匀半空间模型中,分别从波场快照、波形曲线及频散能量图三个角度,对黏弹性介质瑞雷波衰减和频散特性进行了详细分析.两层速度递增模型被用于进一步分析瑞雷波在黏弹性层状介质中的特性.结果表明:由于介质的黏弹性,瑞雷波振幅发生衰减,高频成分比低频成分衰减更剧烈,衰减程度随偏移距增大而增强;瑞雷波相速度发生频散,且随频率增大而增大,频散能量的分辨率有所降低;黏弹性波动方程中的参考频率,不会影响瑞雷波振幅衰减和相速度频散的程度,但决定了黏弹性和弹性介质瑞雷波相速度相等的频率位置.本研究有助于人们更好地理解地球介质中瑞雷波的行为,并为瑞雷波勘探的应用和研究提供了科学和有价值的参考.  相似文献

We describe a novel inexpensive method, utilizing particle image velocimetry (PIV) and refractive index‐matching (RIM) for visualizing and quantifying the flow field within bio‐amended porous media. To date, this technique has been limited to idealized particles, whose refractive index does not match that of fresh water and thus requires specialized and often toxic or hazardous fluids. Here, we use irregularly shaped grains made of hydrogel as the solid matrix and water as the fluid. The advantage of using water is that it provides, for the first time, the opportunity to study both hydraulic and biological processes, which typically occur in soils and streambeds. By using RIM coupled with PIV (RIM‐PIV), we measured the interstitial flow field within a cell packed with granular material consisting of hydrogel grains in a size range of 1–8 mm, both in the presence and in the absence of Sinorhizobium meliloti bacteria (strain Rm8530). We also performed experiments with fluorescent tracer (fluorescein) and fluorescent microbes (Shewanella GPF MR‐1) to test the capability of visualizing solute transport and microbial movements. Results showed that the RIM‐PIV can measure the flow field for both biofilm‐free and biofilm‐covered hydrogel grains. The fluorescent tracer injection showed the ability to visualize both physical (concave surfaces and eddies) and biological (biofilms) transient storage zones, whereas the fluorescent microbe treatment showed the ability to track microbial movements within fluids. We conclude that the proposed methodology is a promising tool to visualize and quantify biofilm attachment, growth, and detachment in a system closer to natural conditions than a 2D flow cell experiment.  相似文献

Numerical simulation in transverse isotropic media with tilted symmetry axis(TTI) using the standard staggered-grid finite-difference scheme(SSG)results in errors caused by averaging or interpolation. In order to eliminate the errors, a method of rotated staggered-grid finite-difference scheme(RSG) is proposed. However, the RSG brings serious numerical dispersion. The compact staggered-grid finite-difference scheme(CSG) is an implicit difference scheme, which use fewer grid points to suppress dispersion more effectively than the SSG. This paper combines the CSG with the RSG to derive a rotated staggered-grid compact finite-difference scheme(RSGC). The numerical experiments indicate that the RSGC has weaker numerical dispersion and better accuracy than the RSG.  相似文献

本文以基于改进BISQ模型的二维双相各向同性介质一阶速度-应力方程为基础,推导出了曲线坐标系下对应的方程,然后采用低频散、低耗散的同位网格MacCormack有限差分法来离散方程,并采用紧致的单边MacCormack差分格式结合牵引力镜像法来施加自由地表边界条件,实现了地震波场数值模拟.曲线网格有限差分法采用贴体网格来描述自由表面,地表的网格线紧贴地形,避免了台阶近似造成的数值散射.数值模拟结果表明,在双相介质起伏自由地表和分界面处,各类波型复杂的反射透射规律可以清晰展现,曲线网格有限差分法可以精确地解决地震波在含起伏地表的双相各向同性介质中的传播问题.  相似文献

Our objective was to discover the effect of variations in fluid properties and fracture geometry on the velocity of seismic wave propagation in fluid‐saturated media with parallel planar fractures. We used numerical models calculated by analytical solutions to examine the behaviour of P‐wave phase velocity dispersion in the normal direction to layering, in non‐porous and porous media with planar fractures. We also examined the anisotropy of low frequency phase and group velocities of fast and slow P‐waves and angular‐dependent reflection coefficients in media with planar fractures, under conditions of saturation by fluids with varying bulk moduli, densities, and fracture apertures. We defined several parametre , , and characterising dispersion, characterising anisotropy, characterising the difference between fast and slow modes, and R0 and characterising reflection. Our results show that the behaviour of dispersion shows wider stopbands in the case of gas saturation. Concavity indicator of dispersion for gas saturation was greater than that for liquid saturation and is usually greater than one. Anisotropy is more sensitive to bulk modulus contrast than to density contrast between the solid and the fluid, and is more sensitive to density contrast than to bulk modulus contrast. The case of gas saturation usually had a greater negative R0 and a greater value of compared with those of brine and heavy and light oil saturations. Our results are helpful in distinguishing fluid types saturating geophysical fractures and estimating the aperture and spacing of planar fractures. In seismic exploration, bulk modulus and fluid density can provide useful information in distinguishing among brine, oil, and gas; fracture geometry is important to estimate the permeability of reservoirs.  相似文献
