兵棋是对作战过程进行逻辑推演研究和评估的军事科学工具,是作战模拟的一种重要方法和手段。兵棋地图作为兵棋的三大组成要素之一,其表达内容、表达方式及表达精度对兵棋推演的结果有着重要的影响。回顾兵棋地图的演进,有助于把握兵棋发展的历史脉络,加深对战场环境模拟的认识。以兵棋地图出现的时间为依据,将兵棋地图的演进过程分为三个阶段:原始兵棋地图阶段、经典兵棋地图阶段和现代兵棋地图阶段,并从表达内容、表达方式和表达精度三个方面对每个阶段的兵棋地图进行了分析。  相似文献

地理信息共享是地理信息系统(GIS)研究中的一大热点,其中地图符号的共享尤为重要。针对目前地图符号共享所面临的主要障碍,文中从地图符号的定义出发,利用图元参数法建立通用地图符号表达模型,并采用XML语言完成符号的描述,最后通过符号配置,生成由通用几何图形组成的符号化结果,从而实现地图符号的共享。在vc++环境下开发通用地图符号化组件和符号制作软件,通过实例符号的制作和应用,验证该地图符号表达机制的可行性和通用性,符号化效果理想。  相似文献

Similarity for spatial directions plays an important role in GIS. In this paper, the conventional approaches are analyzed. Based on raster data areal objects, the authors propose two new methods for measuring similarity among spatial directions. One is to measure the similarity among spatial directions based on the features of raster data and the changes of distances between spatial objects, the other is to measure the similarity among spatial directions according to the variation of each raster cell centroid angle. The two methods overcome the complexity of measuring similarity among spatial directions with direction matrix model and solve the limitation of small changes in direction. An application of line simplification considering spatial knowledge is described. A method for identifying potential conflict regions, in order to avoid the self-intersection of generalized, lines, is also discussed. Further-more, a new progressive line simplification algorithm is presented. Persuasive maps are ubiquitous in society, yet cartographers have largely neglected to conduct serious, holistic research on them. Persuasive maps represent a form of visual communication that differs markedly from scientific geovisualization. First, many of these maps' communicative goals are anathema to those of scientific representation. Second, many persuasive maps ignore and defy established cartographic conventions. This article argues two things. First, the cartographic discipline can gain insight about how maps communicate information from the longitudinal and holistic analysis of persuasive maps. By comparing the differences and similarities of persuasive maps to scientific geovisualizations, researchers can begin to understand how persuasive maps communicate differently than scientific ones. Second, breaking persuasive maps down into composite parts may make it possible to identify persuasive map norms (i.e., methods of design that are embraced by producers of persuasive maps). The results of a content analysis of 256 persuasive maps are discussed. The article concludes that it may be possible to take the most statistically significant results from this study to begin identifying different rhetorical styles of persuasive maps.  相似文献

The recent study and classification of over 200 cadastral maps created in the nineteenth century in Catalonia have provided a valuable source of information about the agricultural landscape country’s past, but by linking them with data recorded in tax books known as amillaramientos, it is possible to gain a better knowledge of the past. By applying this method to the 1861 cadastral map of Horta and its corresponding amillaramiento, a planimetric map showing the land use distribution in the town was created. The resulting land use map was subsequently overlaid on top of a digital elevation model to create 3D visualizations which show the altitudinal distribution of crops and other features. Finally, the article explores a way of distributing the results online, making them accessible to the public and increasing the research impact of future findings. Therefore, the method described in this article allows the systematic recreation and distribution of past landscapes by using Catalan cadastral maps of the nineteenth century, something which can help enrich the scientific knowledge of many disciplines.  相似文献

A system for managing and visualizing archaeological finds and their spatio-temporal properties is presented. The system is an attempt to combine archaeologists' interest to keep track of time with interests related to the representation and visualization of the spatio-temporal component of archaeological excavations, with the help of cartographic and GIS methods and techniques. Several parameters of a prehistoric excavation such as finds, their thematic characteristics, and their spatio-temporal distributions are examined. A three-dimensional GIS/cartographic environment and its user interface to the excavation database have been developed as a tool for enhancing archaeological interpretation in an exploratory environment. The development of the system is an ongoing task; the article describes its current use as a prototype.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Animations have become a frequently utilized illustration technique on maps but changes in their graphical loading remain understudied in empirical geovisualization and cartographic research. Animated streamlets have gained attention as an illustrative animation technique and have become popular on widely viewed maps. We conducted an experiment to investigate how altering four major animation parameters of animated streamlets affects people’s reading performance of field maxima on vector fields. The study involved 73 participants who performed reaction-time tasks on pointing maxima on vector field stimuli. Reaction times and correctness of answers changed surprisingly little between visually different animations, with only a few occasional statistical significances. The results suggest that motion of animated streamlets is such a strong visual cue that altering graphical parameters makes only little difference when searching for the maxima. This leads to the conclusion that, for this kind of a task, animated streamlets on maps can be designed relatively freely in graphical terms and their style fitted to other contents of the map. In the broader visual and geovisual analytics context, the results can lead to more generally hypothesizing that graphical loading of animations with continuous motion flux could be altered without severely affecting their communicative power.  相似文献
