We measured the partial pressure of oxygen (PO2) in the interstitial gas surrounding the sand-swimming Namib moleEremitalpa granti namibensis. At a sand temperature of 26 °C, which produced a nearly maximal rate of oxygen consumption, thePO2near the noses of the animals averaged only 0·9 kPa (6·7 Torr) below the level in the free atmosphere. High oxygen availability was a result of the notably low metabolic rate in the 20 g mammals and the dry, porous and metabolically inactive nature of dune sand. A mathematical model indicated that normal mammals weighing 200 g or more could comfortably exist completely encased in dune sand. We concluded that the moles' small size and low metabolic rate are not adaptations to hypoxia or hypercapnia underground but are probably related to low food availability and the energetic cost of foraging in their desert environment. 相似文献

根据晋南地穹列构造型相分析,恢复了4期应力场:①地洼初动期(印支期)近S-N水平挤压;②地洼激烈期(燕山期)NWW-SEE水平挤压;③地洼余动期(喜山早期)NNE-SSW水平挤压;④地洼余动期(喜山中期)NW-SE、NWW-SEE近水平伸展。其现代构造应力场以NW-SE向伸展应力场为主,但在沁水地穹则表现为NEE-SWW向近水平挤压应力场。有限元模拟分析证实:此局部挤压应力场的动力来源于挽近地质时期太行山和霍山的隆起与抬升,临汾地洼和太原地洼中的伸展应力场则与地洼壳体下部慢源物质逸散所导致的侧向拉伸有关。区内应力降的分布特点与晋南地穹列断裂构造发育程度具有良好的对应相关性,在高应力降区,单位体积煤层气含量显著高于其它地区。模拟主应力差等值线图中两个高主应力差值区恰好与东部沁水地穹中两个高含气量区相对应,充分说明地洼余动期构造应力场中高压应力区是煤层气富集的有利地区。 相似文献

Summary The gas permeability of a coalbed, unlike that of conventional gas reservoirs, is influenced during gas production not only by the simultaneous changes in effective stress and gas slippage, but also by the volumetric strain of the coal matrix that is associated with gas desorption. A technique for conducting laboratory experiments to separate these effects and estimate their individual contribution is presented in this paper. The results show that for a pressure decrease from 6.2 to 0.7 MPa, the total permeability of the coal sample increased by more than 17 times. A factor of 12 is due to the volumetric strain effect, and a factor of 5 due to the gas slippage effect. Changes in permeability and porosity with gas depletion were also estimated using the measured volumetric strain and the matchstick reservoir model geometry for flow of gas in coalbeds. The resulting variations were compared with results obtained experimentally. Furthermore, the results show that when gas pressure is above 1.7 MPa, the effect of volumetric strain due to matrix shrinkage dominates. As gas pressure falls below 1.7 MPa, both the gas slippage and matrix shrinkage effects play important roles in influencing the permeability. Finally, the change in permeability associated with matrix shrinkage was found to be linearly proportional to the volumetric strain. Since volumetric strain is linearly proportional to the amount of gas desorbed, the change in permeability is a linear function of the amount of desorbing gas. 相似文献

The gas field in the center of Ordos Basin has been conventionally considered as a large gas pool with thin reservoirs. However,
lots of phenomena contrary to this concept occur in the exploration and production process. It is proposed that the gas field
is composed of many small lithological gas pools, sourced from and reservoired in the same Ordovician formation which is an
underpressured fluid compartment. A dynamic equilibrium moldel of natural gas migration and accumulation has been developed

Based on characteristics and trap types of gas reservoirs in large and medium gas fields in China, 4 gas reservoir models
have been established:(i) structural trap gas reservoir model I, formed earlier than or simutaneously with generating of gases;
(ii) structural trap gas reservoir model II, formed later than generating of gases; (iii) fossil weathered residuum gas reservoir
model; and (iV) mud diapir abnormal temperature and pressure gas reservoir model. Distribution patterns of large-medium gas
fields are described with the concept of “sealed compartment”. It is concluded that the inner-compartment area, marginal area
of the compartment and the areas between two overlapped sealed compartments are the most favourable areas for discovering
large-medium gas fields.
