There are few studies on the variation of Froude number versus depth during the passage of internal solitary waves (ISWs). In this paper, according to the limited observational data of the ISWs near the Dongsha Islands in the northern South China Sea (SCS), it is found that, during the passage of an ISW, the local Froude number near the main thermocline gets maximum and the flow is supercritical, with the Froude number decreasing gradually upward and downward, whilst before and after the passage of the ISW, the local Froude number is less than 1 and the flow is subcritical in the entire water column. Since the observational current data are only available in the upper ocean, a two-dimensional continuously stratified nonlinear model is employed here to study the variation of Froude number versus depth during the passage of an ISW. The modeled ISW induced current field agrees well with that observed during the passage of the observational ISW. It is found that, even during the passage of the ISW, although the Froude number is larger than 1 in the upper layer, it is less than 1 in the lower layer, and the duration when the Froude number is larger than 1 also changes with depth. Thus, it is suggested that, once the Froude number near the main thermocline is larger than 1, the passage of ISWs could be identified. Moreover, it would be better to choose a sampling interval of no more than 1/4 passage period of the ISW during an in-situ observation of ISWs.  相似文献

Geophysical data are presented that characterise a blind pluton, the Mountain Home Pluton (MHP), which intrudes the southern portion of the Bundarra Suite (BS), 30 km northeast of Bendemeer, New South Wales. A positive magnetic anomaly within the non-magnetic granites of the BS (Banalasta and Pringles Monzogranites) was previously identified as a sub-surface intrusion. Interpretation of new gravity data and analysis of aeromagnetic data are used to infer the depth, size, density, magnetic susceptibility and likely petrology of the pluton. The best-fit model indicates that the MHP is very similar to the Looanga Monzogranite, a felsic member of the Moonbi Suite of the New England Batholith (NEB) that intrudes the BS 5–7 km southeast of the MHP. The top of the MHP is inferred to lie about 1 km beneath the surface and the pluton extends to a depth of at least 6 km. Our model furthermore suggests that the southwestern margin of the MHP is subvertical, whereas a shallower dip (<45°) towards the north is proposed for the northeastern surface of the pluton. A north-trending dyke swarm, identified on the basis of linear positive magnetic anomalies, may be related to the MHP. This swarm of more than 20 relatively magnetic dykes extends out to about 10 km north from the pluton. Magnetic modelling of the dykes indicates that susceptibility values of the dykes are probably very similar to the range of the MHP, and also suggests the width of individual dykes (also not known to be exposed at the surface) to be at most a few tens of metres. A petrographic examination of the intruded BS granites at the surface suggests that metamorphic zoning as seen in mineralogical characteristics may be related to the underlying pluton.  相似文献

We report technical and data treatment methods for making accurate, high‐precision measurements of 18O/16O in Ca–Mg–Fe garnet utilising the Cameca IMS 1280 multi‐collector ion microprobe. Matrix effects were similar to those shown by previous work, whereby Ca abundance is correlated with instrumental mass fractionation (IMF). After correction for this effect, there appeared to be no significant secondary effect associated with Mg/Fe2+ for routine operational conditions. In contrast, investigation of the IMF associated with Mn‐ or Cr‐rich garnet showed that these substitutions are significant and require a more complex calibration scheme. The Ca‐related calibration applied to low‐Cr, low‐Mn garnet was reproducible across different sample mounts and under a range of instrument settings and therefore should be applicable to similar instruments of this type. The repeatability of the measurements was often better than ± 0.2‰ (2s), a precision that is similar to the repeatability of bulk techniques. At this precision, the uncertainties due to spot‐to‐spot repeatability were at the same magnitude as those associated with matrix corrections (± 0.1–0.3‰) and the uncertainties in reference materials (± 0.1–0.2‰). Therefore, it is necessary to accurately estimate and propagate uncertainties associated with these parameters – in some cases, uncertainties in reference materials or matrix corrections dominate the uncertainty budget.  相似文献

A new fair off-line electronic cash scheme on elliptic curve cryptography was presented. The new scheme is more efficient than those by extending fair off-line electronic cash scheme from finite field into elliptic curve cryptography and introducing a new elliptic curve discrete logarithm assumption. The expiry date and denomination are embedded into the blindly signed coin by integrating partially blind signature with restrictive blind signature. A bank need not use different public keys for different coin values, shops and users need not carry a list of bank's public keys to verify in their electronic wallet. At the same time, the bank just needs to keep undue electronic coins for double spending check in his database, thus bank's database can be dramatically reduced.  相似文献

Porous wind barriers are widely used and proven more efficient than solid barriers. In this study, the shelter quality of wind barriers of different porosity, row space and row number was compared based on wind-tunnel measurements. The 14 cm-high (H) scaled models of wind barriers were placed perpendicularly to the wind direction in the wind tunnel, and rough elements were placed upwind of the models to obtain a reasonable self-simulation zone and Reynolds number. The results show that the airflow field changes little in the area above one-row wind barriers. In the area below the models, the airflow field is rearranged into four energy regions. The best shelter effect achieved downwind is always obtained using a 0.35-porosity wind barrier, so we suggest the optimal porosity of 0.3–0.4 for wind barriers in sand-control engineering. The shelter effect comparison of two-row 0.35-porosity wind barriers indicates that 6 H is the optimum row space. Two-row and three-row wind barriers obviously provide better shelter than one-row barriers. Therefore, we suggest 5–7 H as the optimal row spacing for multi-row wind barriers. Our results indicated good agreement with previous studies regarding porosity, row number and row space, with some exceptions about wind barrier design regarding porosity.  相似文献

Over the past 10 years, geodynamo simulations have grown rapidly in sophistication. However, it is still necessary to make certain approximations in order to maintain numerical stability. In addition, models are forced to make assumptions about poorly known parameters for the Earth's core. Different magnetic Prandtl numbers have been used and different assumptions about the presence of radiogenic heating have been made. This study examines some of the consequences of different approximations and assumptions using the Glatzmaier–Roberts geodynamo model. Here, we show that the choice of magnetic Prandtl number has a greater influence on the character of the magnetic field produced than the addition of a plausible amount of radiogenic heating. In particular, we find that prescribing a magnetic Prandtl number of unity with Ekman number limited by current computing resources, results in magnetic fields with significantly smaller intensities and variabilities compared with the much more Earth-like results obtained from simulations with large magnetic Prandtl numbers. A magnetic Prandtl number of unity, with both the viscous and magnetic diffusivities set to the Earth's magnetic diffusivity, requires a rotation rate much smaller than that of the Earth for currently reachable Ekman numbers. This results in a reduced dominance of the Coriolis forces relative to the buoyancy forces, and therefore, a reduction in the magnetic field intensity and the variability compared to the large Prandtl number cases.  相似文献

光释光测年多颗粒实验中单个样品的测片个数选取没有一定标准,从几十到一百多个不等。通过分析7个黄土中颗粒(38~63 μm)样品,分别进行了不同测片个数的等效剂量的实验及统计分析研究。每个样品的等效剂量由SAR法和SGC法得到,每个样品不同测片数的等效剂量结果进行了多种统计分析和检验。认为在风成沉积物的光释光测年实验中,当一个样品进行实验的测片数达到20~30个测片时,样品的等效剂量分布形态就趋于稳定;即此测片数较合理——既能较准确反映统计意义上的样品的古剂量,又不至于进行大量重复性工作;这对于水成沉积物光释光测年中单个样品的测片个数选取也有一定的参考价值。  相似文献
