In this paper, vortex-induced vibrations (VIV) of an elastically mounted sphere with two linear degrees of freedom have been experimentally studied. The dynamic response analysis shows that, for the range of reduced velocity from 2 to 14 here investigated, the sphere exhibits similar amplitudes and frequencies compared to the tethered sphere, and Modes I and II are detected. A new application of the phase average approach allowed extrapolating the periodic trajectory pattern from the experimental trajectories. In particular, more than one dominant harmonic component is observed in the streamwise oscillation, so the sphere trajectories are significantly different from the traditional figure-of-eight shape. The main difference is that these trajectories are not self-intersecting. Based on the experimental observations, an analytical model of the trajectory is built and discussed.  相似文献

1989年9月2日小金6.6级地震和本次地震的前震(1989年3月1日的5.0级)及余震(1991年2月18日的5.0级)均发生于小金两河口-木城附近,这3次地震的震中连线及其等烈度线长轴皆大致呈N30°W方向,暗示着该区存在北西向的活动构造。本在航空照片判译和野外实地调查的基础上,初步查明了抚边河断裂的空间展布特征,通过断错地貌的研究,结合热释光(TL)的测龄结果,首次发现了抚边河断裂晚第四纪  相似文献

迄今,用于煤矿井下独头巷道超前勘探的有效手段寥寥无几。常规的钻探方法费工、费时、效率很低,而且有引起突水的危险。瑞雷波勘探方法是一种使用瑞雷面波作为有效波进行零到几十米范围内地震勘探的新型物探方法。它的测线基距与勘探深度的比值可以达到1∶20以上,即1~2m的测线布置,勘探深度可达30~40m以上。完全适用于独头巷道超前勘探的需要。把这样一种地面地质勘探的方法技术移植到井下,在煤巷、岩巷中进行超前探测断层、空巷、冲刷带的试验并获得成功,无疑为煤矿井下独头巷道的超前探测开创了一种全新的物探手段,必将在煤矿的安全掘进和生产方面发挥重要作用。   相似文献

赤潮流界是表征河口径潮相互作用的关键界面,受各种动力作用在空间上不断上下迁移。本文基于2012—2019年间长江口岸直水道五峰山至南支河段大范围实测资料,分析了46种径潮流组合下,长江主汊河段主深槽潮流界位置的变化。研究结果表明:(1)在径流条件一定时,随着潮差的减小潮流界位置逐渐向下游移动,初始时期潮流界位置下移速度较慢,后期加快。(2)在潮差一定时,当上边界径流量以同样速度增加时,枯水期潮流界向下游移动的速度快,平水期与丰水期潮流界向下游移动的速度会逐渐减慢。(3)潮流界距大通的距离与潮径比呈显著相关的对数关系,可用于今后潮流界位置的定量计算。潮流界位置随着潮径比的减小而下移,当潮径比约为0.56时,潮流界位置在江阴附近。新水沙条件下,长江潮流界位置的研究对"长江大保护"战略下河口海岸地区的开发规划具有重要现实意义。  相似文献

Pulse-like records are well recognized for their potential to impose higher demands on structures when compared with ordinary records. The increased severity of the structural response usually caused by pulse-like records is commonly attributed to the spectral increment around the pulse period. By comparing the building response to sets of spectrally equivalent pulse-like and ordinary records, we show that there are characteristics of pulse-like records beyond the shape of the acceleration response spectrum that affect the results of nonlinear dynamic analysis. Nevertheless, spectral shape together with the ratio of pulse period to the first-mode structural period, Tp/T1, are confirmed as “sufficient” predictors for deformation and acceleration response metrics in a building, conditioned on the seismic intensity. Furthermore, the average spectral acceleration over a period range, AvgSA, is shown to incorporate to a good proxy for spectral shape, and together with Tp/T1, form an efficient and sufficient intensity measure for response prediction to pulse-like ground motions. Following this latter route, we propose a record selection scheme that maintains the consistency of Tp with the hazard of the site but uses AvgSA to account for the response sensitivity to spectral shape.  相似文献

This study examines the employment of two methods, multiple linear regression (MLR) and an artificial neural network (ANN), for multistep ahead forecasting of suspended sediment. The autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model is considered for one-step ahead forecasting of sediment series in order to provide a comparison with the MLR and ANN methods. For one- and two-step ahead forecasting, the ANN model performance is superior to that of the MLR model. For longer ranges, MLR models provide better accuracy, but there is an important assumption violation. The Durbin-Watson statistics of the MLR models show a noticeable decrease from 1.3 to 0.5, indicating that the residuals are not dependent over time. The scatterplots of the three methods (MLR, ARIMA and ANN) for one-step ahead forecasting for the validation period illustrate close fits with the regression line, with the ANN configuration having a slightly higher R2 value.  相似文献

利用LS8000闪电定位系统2009—2011年的地闪观测资料对上海及周边地区(120~122.5°E,30~32°N)的地闪活动特征进行了研究。结果表明:分析区域内正地闪的比例约占8.5%,大电流地闪(电流绝对值大于50kA)的比例约为5.6%。地闪活动主要集中在6—9月,峰值出现在8月;日变化上,12:00—19:00闪电活动最为活跃,峰值出现在14:00,凌晨闪电活动最弱。从日变化上来说,正地闪和大电流地闪比例在地闪活动较强时段低于地闪活动较弱时段;在月分布上,在地闪活动最强的夏季,正地闪比例普遍在10%以下,在地闪活动较弱的春、秋、冬季,正地闪比例普遍在10%以上。以北纬31°为界,分析区域北部地闪密度基本在6~12次·km-2·a-1以上,南部基本在2.4~4.8次·km-2·a-1。同时陆地上的地闪密度要显著高于湖泊和海洋上的地闪密度,而海洋上的正地闪比例和大电流地闪比例要显著高于陆地。闪电空间分布的时间变化说明,下午地闪活动主要出现在陆地,而凌晨地闪主要出现在水体附近,其它时段则表现出过渡特征,这与下垫面的加热作用紧密相关。  相似文献

This paper presents a rational basis for obtaining the Effective Peak Acceleration (EPA) of a given ground motion process. The proposed formulation considers the statistical variability in the ground motion, and is centred on the idea of explicitly linking EPA with expected cumulative damage in the structures due to the inelastic excursions. The structural behaviour has been modelled by a Single-Degree-Of-Freedom (SDOF) bilinear hysteretic oscillator. EPA is considered to be the expected PGA of a scaled ground motion process such that this oscillator undergoes a specified expected damage under the unscaled process if it is linearly designed for the scaled process. For estimation of the damage, the oscillator has been replaced by an equivalent linear oscillator through stochastic averaging. A parametric study has been carried out to investigate the dependence of EPA on several governing parameters, and it has been shown that despite the strong dependence of EPA on oscillator time period, it may be possible to obtain ‘period-averaged’ EPA values for several ground motion processes for engineering applications. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

为了研究径流量变化对长江口水动力特性的影响,利用MIKE21建立长江口水动力数学模型,分别模拟计算长江口不同径流量影响的潮流场,统计分析不同径流量时各汊道涨落潮量和净泄量以及分配比例;统计分析不同径流量对各汊道潮位变化的影响;统计分析不同径流量对北槽中下段水动力特性的影响。得到如下结论:1)径流量的变化对于涨潮分流的影响显著,随着径流量的增加,更多的潮流从北支、北港、南槽进入长江口内。当上游的径流动力增强,外海潮流受上游径流的阻挡,难以继续上溯。2)越是靠近上游,径流量的变化对平均潮位的影响程度越高,入海口处受径流的影响微弱;上游径流量越大,潮波向内陆传播越受阻,能量消耗越大,致使其动力减弱。3)径流量的变化对平均流速的影响与上述潮位变化类似,上游径流量越大,各汊道流速越大;越靠近海洋,径流影响越小。4)长江口北槽中下段转流时刻会出现平面对流现象。横向方向上普遍存在越堤水流,且南北导堤均为北向越堤流占优势。  相似文献

Abstract

In practice, how to quickly improve the bearing capacity of piles in a short time is of great significance. In view of this, a technique of setting grooves and installing PVDs (prefabricated vertical drains) at the surface of the pile is proposed in this investigation to accelerate the consolidation of the surrounding soil. A radial and circular consolidation model is established for permeable piles. The finite cosine transform, finite Weber transform, and discretization method are used to obtain a semi-analytical solution for the consolidation model with a mixed drainage boundary condition at the surface of the pile. The sensitivity of the consolidation process to the strip number and the width of PVDs is discussed. The results show that the technique of installing PVDs in piles could potentially improve the bearing capacity. When the area of drainage channels is fixed, the bearing capacity of permeable piles can be more effectively improved by using a higher strip number of PVDs and a smaller PVD width.  相似文献
