Considering the controversy over whether the Taipei 101 skyscraper has induced an increase of local seismicity, we reanalyzed the local earthquake catalogue before and after the construction to investigate whether the reported seismicity increase related to the construction is statistically significant. Statistical tests obtained a positive conclusion about the apparent seismicity increase. However, the calculation of maximum ΔCFS shows that at most a 2.2×10-4 bar Coulomb Failure Stress change was produced by the construction. Therefore, whether the construction of Taipei 101 really triggered the increase of seismicity still remains an open question: Statistically-yes; physically-no.  相似文献

The objective of this study is to derive an effective stress‐based constitutive law capable of predicting rate‐dependent stress–strain, stress path and undrained shear strength and creep behavior. The flow rule used in the MIT‐E3 model and viscoplasticity theory is employed in the derivation. The model adopts the yield surface capable of representing the yield behavior of the Taipei silty clay and assumes that it is initially symmetric about the K0‐line. A method is then developed to compute the gyration and expansion of the loading surface to simulate the anisotropic behavior due to the principal stress rotation after shear. There are 11 parameters required for the model to describe the soil behavior and six of them are exactly the same as those used in the Modified Cam‐clay model. The five additional parameters can be obtained by parametric studies or conventional soil tests, such as consolidation tests, triaxial compression and extension tests. Finally, verification of the model for the anisotropic behavior, creep behavior and the rate‐dependent undrained stress–strain and shear strength of the Taipei silty clay is conducted. Whilst an extensive body of literature exists on the environmental justice implications of urban greening in North America, Europe and to an extent Australasia, there are fewer analogous studies for tropical zone Asian city contexts. Given increasing global interest in the potential for urban greenspace to contribute to resilience in the face of environmental change and the higher vulnerability of Asian cities to environmental shocks, this is a notable gap. In response, this paper evaluates the contours of environmental justice debates within urban greenspace planning for one subtropical Asian city—Taipei. Through analysis of newspaper reporting on urban greenspace planning within Taipei, the potential and limitations of greenspace planning in contributing to equitably delivering benefits from urban greenspace towards resilience are assessed. Findings suggest that claims to environmental injustice in greenspace debates within Taipei follow broadly similar lines to controversies in Europe and North America. Nevertheless, the need for specific knowledge to understand the different ecosystem services provided by tropical zone ecosystems, and the potential for conflicts over greenspace versus development to be heightened in dense Asian city settings, are highlighted as potential areas where environmental justice debates in an Asian urban greening context may differ from Western cities.  相似文献

温室气体过量排放引起了明显的全球气候变化及诸多次生灾害,CO2捕集与地质封存技术应运而生。中国东海沿岸CO2排放源众多,但陆上盆地面积狭小,无法满足巨量CO2封存的需求。根据相关学者做出的中国全海域级碳封存适宜性评价,东海陆架盆地在中国近海盆地中碳封存适宜性排名第3,面积宽广且封闭性好,因此,在此基础上对东海陆架盆地开展了盆地级碳封存适宜性评价。结合专家意见和相关学者研究成果,利用模糊综合评价法和层级分析法确立了适宜性评价指标体系及指标权重,再根据盆地内各二级构造单元的相关地质资料,按照评价指标分级赋分表对各单元的每个评价指标进行评分,结合权重计算出综合适宜性评分。综合考虑碳封存容量、封闭性及可操作性的评价结果认为,台北坳陷为盆地中碳封存综合适宜性最好的单元,可作为优先实验性封存区。  相似文献
