Potassium (K) is one of the major nutritions for plants. The evaluation of K quantity and intensity relationships (K Q/I curve) in different farmland soils is important for the appropriate application of K fertilizer. With this information the pollution of K fertilizer in the environment can be prevented. Potassium ions in solution and in exchange complex are available to plants. However, the K availability is affected by the antagonism of Ca and Mg ions. The K quantity–intensity relationships (K Q/I curve) has been suggested to describe the K availability in soil, taking into account the competition between K ions and Ca and Mg ions for exchange sites on the soil exchange complex. In this experiment, we studied the Q/I plot of the soils and found that the parameters can be used to evaluate the supply state of K. The results show that the K Q/I relationships of the five soils differed as the Ca concentration of the initial solution is varied. This phenomenon reflected different degrees of exchange of K by Ca on the exchangeable sites of the clay minerals. The intensity of the potassium supply of Nieuniaokang and Erling soils possessed higher AR0 values, indicating that exchangeable K in these soils are primarily on the plannar surface of the clay particles; while those of the Liuying, Shanghua, and Taikang series are primarily on the crystal edge surfaces and are less available to the plant. The K supply intensity of Chiangjung soil is lower when the Ca concentration is low, but it increased when the Ca concentration is high, and the K supply intensity of Pinchen soil is the opposite. The K supply intensity of Nieuniaokang soil is high, but its potential buffering capacity (PBC) is low. Therefore, it is suggested that the K application should be split into small doses to maintain a high K supply intensity. The K supply intensity of Liuying soil is low, but its PBC is large, so it is expected that a large amount of K fertilizers would be needed to increase the K supply intensity to a more available level. The supply intensity and the buffering capacity of the Chiangjung and Pinchen soils are low, and the K management in these soils will be more difficult.  相似文献

Linkages between hydroclimate variability and economic development are often theorized to be present only in developing economies. Using spatially small-scaled data from multiple decades for European regions, we examine the relationship between precipitation anomalies and economic performance in highly developed economic systems. We conduct a disaggregated empirical analysis to mitigate the bias potentially arising from spatial aggregation because precipitation realizations tend to vary drastically within larger sized economic units. We modify original precipitation indices to capture the dynamic expectation formation of economic agents about climate conditions to measure deviations from these anticipated environmental states. Using panel model regressions in a quasi-experimental research design, we analyse whether deviations from average growth rates of aggregated economic output are potentially non-linearly related to the magnitude of precipitation deviations from the anticipated climate norm within regions, after accounting for any shocks common to all regions. We find that precipitation deviations that exceed critical thresholds (intermediate anomalies) for both unusually dry and unusually wet years reduce regional growth rates. The adverse impacts are more pronounced for overly dry periods. Importantly, the relationship between economic growth and precipitation anomalies is not generalizable across all regions. Natural geographical circumstances such as prevailing climatic conditions (“first-nature” geographies) and human-made socio-economic factors such as sector structure and income level (“second-nature” geographies) moderate the anomaly response. The empirical findings substantiate the necessity to incorporate precipitation variability into the assessment of economic costs of climate change; not only in developing countries or agricultural societies but also in highly developed economic systems. Moreover, the empirical results have important implications for policy makers as uneven effect sizes at the subnational level suggest that policy measures should be targeted in space and coordinated between national and regional levels of government.  相似文献

We present results of polarimetry and photometry of comet C/2004 Q2 (Machholz) obtained with the 0.7-m telescope of Institute of Astronomy at the Karazin Kharkiv National University on February 3 and 4, and March 4 and 14, 2005. The observations were carried out with a one-channel photoelectric photometer-polarimeter. The IHW continuum UC (λ3650/80 Å), BC (λ4845/65 Å), RC (λ6840/90 Å) and emission filters CN (λ3871/50 Å), C3 (λ4060/70 Å), and C2 (λ5140/90 Å) were used. Degree of the comet polarization at phase angles ≈ 52° and ≈44° in the red continuum was close to that for so called dusty comets. The comet had a typical spectral gradient of polarization ΔP/Δλ=0.86% per 1000 Å. In the framework of the Haser model we have found the gas production rates Q of the CN, C3 and C2 species and the dust production rates Afρ on February 4 and March 14, 2005. The ratio log[Afρ (BC)/Q(CN)] was compared with data for other comets. The normalized spectral gradient of cometary dust S’(BC,RC) was 8.7%/1000 Å for February 4 and 17.0%/1000 Å for March 14. We conclude that comet C/2004 Q2 (Machholz) in many respects is a typical dusty comet.  相似文献

The time-delay in gravitational lenses can be used to derive the Hubble constant in a relatively simple way. The results of this method are less dependent on astrophysical assumptions than in many other methods. For systems with accurately measured positions and time-delays, the most important uncertainty is related to the mass model used. Simple parametric models like isothermal ellipsoidal mass distributions seem to provide consistent results with a reasonably small scatter when applied to several lens systems. We discuss a family of models with a separable radial power law and an arbitrary angular dependence for the potential   ψ = r β F ( θ )  . Isothermal potentials are a special case of these models with   β =1  . An additional external shear is used to take into account perturbations from other galaxies. Using a simple linear formalism for quadruple lenses, we can derive H 0 as a function of the observables and the shear. If the latter is fixed, the result depends on the assumed power-law exponent according to   H 0∝(2- β )/ β   . The effect of external shear is quantified by introducing a 'critical shear' γ c as a measure for the amount of shear that changes the result significantly. The analysis shows that in the general case H 0 and γ c do not depend on the position of the lens galaxy. Spherical lens models with images close to the Einstein radius with fitted external shear differ by a factor of   β /2  from shearless models, leading to   H 0∝2- β   in this case. We discuss these results and compare them with numerical models for a number of real lens systems.  相似文献

Noble gases are not rare in the Universe, but they are rare in rocks. As a consequence, it has been possible to identify in detailed analyses a variety of components whose existence is barely visible in other elements: radiogenic and cosmogenic gases produced in situ, as well as a variety of “trapped” components – both of solar (solar wind) origin and the “planetary” noble gases. The latter are most abundant in the most primitive chondritic meteorites and are distinct in elemental and isotopic abundance patterns from planetary noble gases sensu strictu, e.g., those in the atmospheres of Earth and Mars, having in common only the strong relative depletion of light relative to heavy elements when compared to the solar abundance pattern. In themselves, the “planetary” noble gases in meteorites constitute again a complex mixture of components including such hosted by pre-solar stardust grains.The pre-solar components bear witness of the processes of nucleosynthesis in stars. In particular, krypton and xenon isotopes in pre-solar silicon carbide and graphite grains keep a record of physical conditions of the slow-neutron capture process (s-process) in asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars. The more abundant Kr and Xe in the nanodiamonds, on the other hand, show a more enigmatic pattern, which, however, may be related to variants of the other two processes of heavy element nucleosynthesis, the rapid neutron capture process (r-process) and the p-process producing the proton-rich isotopes.“Q-type” noble gases of probably “local” origin dominate the inventory of the heavy noble gases (Ar, Kr, Xe). They are hosted by “phase Q”, a still ill-characterized carbonaceous phase that is concentrated in the acid-insoluble residue left after digestion of the main meteorite minerals in HF and HCl acids. While negligible in planetary-gas-rich primitive meteorites, the fraction carried by “solubles” becomes more important in chondrites of higher petrologic type. While apparently isotopically similar to Q gas, the elemental abundances are somewhat less fractionated relative to the solar pattern, and they deserve further study. Similar “planetary” gases occur in high abundance in the ureilite achondrites, while small amounts of Q-type noble gases may be present in some other achondrites. A “subsolar” component, possibly a mixture of Q and solar noble gases, is found in enstatite chondrites. While no definite mechanism has been identified for the introduction of the planetary noble gases into their meteoritic host phases, there are strong indications that ion implantation has played a major role.The planetary noble gases are concentrated in the meteorite matrix. Ca-Al-rich inclusions (CAIs) are largely planetary-gas-free, however, some trapped gases have been found in chondrules. Micrometeorites (MMs) and interplanetary dust particles (IDPs) often contain abundant solar wind He and Ne, but they are challenging objects for the analysis of the heavier noble gases that are characteristic for the planetary component. The few existing data for Xe point to a Q-like isotopic composition. Isotopically Q-Kr and Q-Xe show a mass dependent fractionation relative to solar wind, with small radiogenic/nuclear additions. They may be closer to “bulk solar” Kr and Xe than Kr and Xe in the solar wind, but for a firm conclusion it is necessary to gain a better understanding of mass fractionation during solar wind acceleration.  相似文献

Amid growing emphasis on community-based approaches to natural resource management, there are concerns about the lack of women participation in communal decision-making. We analyze the association between participation of women in decision-making of forest user groups in Ethiopia and several forest management outcomes. We combine longitudinal survey, administrative and forest inventory data and find that participation of women in executive committees (i.e., formal decision-making) is associated with greater forest benefits, and an improved (perceived and actual) condition of the forest. Alternatively, the association between women participation in group-level meetings and outcomes is not robust. This implies that women participation in formal decision-making is required to reach forest conservation and livelihood gains.  相似文献
