Different aspects of computational techniques for AVOA analysis (Amplitude Versus Offset and Azimuth) for fracture characterization are considered, in particular: using amplitudes instead of reflection coefficients, smoothing seismic data, and numerical methods for estimation of fracture directions. A new computational method and a new filter for smoothing are suggested. The different computational methods are compared in synthetic reflection surface data with noise, and without noise. Properties of the numerical methods in dependence on different sets of azimuths and offsets are obtained. It is shown a superiority of the new method. 相似文献

A trachytic tephra, discovered in the ancient lake of Sarliève, ‘Grande Limagne’, has been dated using the thermoluminescence technique. The obtained age, 16±4 ka (), is older than that of the trachytic volcanoes of the Cha??ne des Puys, the ashes of which have already been locally recognised in the region. Its analysis confirms its originality. In the course of the comparisons made to search for its spring, it appears that the wide-dispersion tephra CF7, beforehand correlated by hypothesis to the Puy de Clierzou, probably originates from the Kilian crater or the Puy de Vasset. Structural analysis of low-grade rocks highlights the allochthonous character of Mesozoic schists in southeastern Rhodope, Bulgaria. The deformation can be related to the Late Jurassic–Early Cretaceous thrusting and Tertiary detachment faulting. Petrologic and geochemical data show a volcanic arc origin of the greenschists and basaltic rocks. These results are interpreted as representing an island arc-accretionary complex related to the southward subduction of the Meliata–Maliac Ocean under the supra-subduction back-arc Vardar ocean/island arc system. In view of a globalizing marketplace and the continual need for market intelligence, firms seek venues in which to access cost effective, functional information. Significant sources of such knowledge, especially in tacit form, can be found within temporary clusters: international trade fairs. This article explores how firms in the solar photovoltaic (PV) industry use educational programs held during a trade fair as a means of information acquisition and exchange, providing a new angle to research on the economic geographies of these events, especially in terms of learning processes. Specifically, it analyzes how firms use educational programs to access remote knowledge (i.e., tacit information unavailable in a local context) in these temporary, spatially confined environments. Analyses of firm-level survey data gathered at a recent solar industry trade fair revealed that there is a significant effect of educational program participation on accessing remote knowledge. The results provide evidence that firms participate in trade fair educational programs to access remote knowledge that is critical to international success. In this paper we examine two central concepts of urban metabolism (‘system boundaries’ and ‘flows’), and explore how to approach them as a means to politicise urban metabolism research. We present empirical findings from two case studies of waste management, in Mexico City and Santiago de Chile, looking at: the materiality of waste flows, the actors involved in them, and how waste flows relate to issues of environmental justice. We argue that urban metabolism, as a methodology to understand urban sustainability, has the potential to produce knowledge to trigger urban transformations, and to analyse the social, political and environmental aspects of waste management in urban areas. 相似文献

Mud volcanoes recently discovered on the offshore Calabrian Arc are investigated at two sites 60 km apart, in water depths of 1650--2300 m, using swath bathymetry, 2D&3D multichannel seismic and cores. The seabed and subsurface data provide information on their formation and functioning in relation to tectonic activity during the rapid Plio-Quaternary advance of the accretionary prism. Fore-arc extension and thrust-belt compression are seen to have involved two main phases of activity, separated by a regional unconformity recording a mid-Pliocene (3.5–3.0 Ma) tectonic reorganization. The two sites of mud volcanism lie in contrasting tectonic settings (inner fore-arc basin vs central fold-and-thrust belt) and record differing forms of seabed extrusive activity (twin mud cones and a caldera vs a broad mud pie). At both sites, subsurface data show that mud volcanism took place throughout the second tectonic phase, since the late Pliocene; differing forms of mud extrusion were accompanied by subsidence to form depressions beneath and within extrusive edifices up to 1.5 km thick. The basal subsidence depressions point to sources within the succession of thrusts underlying the inner to central Arc, consistent with microfossils within cored mud breccias from both sites that are derived from strata as old as Late Cretaceous. 相似文献

RésuménSur l’Ile de la Réunion, l’alimentation en eau constitue un handicap majeur au développement agricole et urbain du versant sous le vent du massif volcanique du Piton des Neiges. En particulier dans les zones d’altitude (supérieure à 900m), les ressources en eau souterraine ne sont pas accessibles par forage. Sur les pentes externes du Piton des Neiges, quatre sites pilotes riches en émergences ont fait l’objet d’investigations hydrogéologiques dans le but d’évaluer la faisabilité de galeries de captage des eaux souterraines dans les hauts de l’île.Le lever d’une carte géologique au 1/10 000 et la reconnaissance systématique du contexte géostructural des émergences ont permis : - de mettre en évidence la diversité des conditions hydrogéologiques du milieu volcanique, - de montrer l’existence de sources profondément encaissées dans le massif, qui traduisent la présence de réserves aquifères significatives dont l’exploitation par galeries drainantes serait envisageable. - de proposer une typologie des nappes d’altitude, appuyée et discutée en fonction des modèles hydrogéologiques existant sur les autres îles volcaniques. Par ailleurs, l’intégration de ces résultats dans un modèle conceptuel décrivant les conditions de gisement des nappes d’altitude fournit l’architecture de base utilisable dans le cadre d’une simulation numérique de l’aquifère volcanique à l’échelle globale de l’île. 相似文献

Priabonian age is highlighted for the first time in Corsica in the Venaco Formation using the presence of specific microfauna (in particular some representatives of Turborotalia cerroazulensis lineage). This silicoclastic formation is mainly represented by coarse facies. It is composed of three members from south to north and from oldest towards youngest: member of Uboli, Cardo and Orsu. The sedimentologic analysis reveals a gravity depositional environment, involving different type of currents. Sedimentologic and chronologic characteristics make the Venaco Formation and the Annot Formation (p.p.) equivalent. Dating the Venaco Fm. brings confirmation that the green schist metamorphism of the Variscan batholith and the related deformation are from the pre-Priabonian period. 相似文献

This paper is about conditions and processes during the accumulation of the Upper Pleniglacial Middle and Upper Silt Loam complexes at Nagelbeek, Limbourg, a Weichselian stratigraphical type locality. The complexes correlate with Hesbayan and Brabantian loesses in Belgium, formed between 28,000 and 12,400 yrs BP. They are characterized by sediment features (cracks, mass deformations, and cut-and-fill features) that are ascribed to a cryogenic regimen. The main Middle Silt Loam subunit contains contraction cracks deformed and further modified by masswasting. Intra-Upper-Pleniglacial pedogenic intervals are inferred from three greyish bands, from a truncated weathered zone surmounting the Middle Silt Loam, and from an aeolian-cumulic palaeosol at the base of the Upper Silt Loam. Latter two zones and an intervening erosional unconformity were cryogenically reworked, less than 22,000 yrs BP, to form a complex stratigraphical marker-zone: the ‘Horizon à Langues de Nagelbeek’. Morphological variants of the marker-zone are described. The geomorphic evolution of the Nagelbeek upland, from Saalian to Holocene times, is summarized in unconformity maps and a time diagram. 相似文献

Understanding the relationships between plant diversity and the environment is an important step towards conservation of species and ecosystems. In this study, we hypothesize that community species richness decreases and species composition change along the elevation gradient, with a greater contribution of species turnover than nestedness to beta diversity. We surveyed plant species in 300 plots (1 m × 1 m) in four elevational bands (2100 m, 2300 m, 2500 m, and 2700 m) in the Caparaó National Park, Southeastern Brazil. The samples presented a great number of species (97 spp., 59 genera, 27 families), however, 74% of the species were considered rare with their relative abundance being < 1%. Among the four bands along the gradient, we detected two distinct communities with few species in common. The transition between the two communities occurred at 2500 m, and this elevation band also had the highest species richness in total. A non-metric multidimensional scaling (NMDS) showed floristic differences between the bands even though they had similar richness. In 89% of the plot pairs, using pairwise comparison of species composition, only half of the species that occurred in one did occur in the other plot. The dissimilarity among the plots and elevational band reflects a significant contribution of spatial species turnover to the species richness and beta diversity on the Caparaó mountain. Beta diversity increased with spatial scale (from plot to elevational-band). The dissimilarity (βSOR=0.907) in the area was due almost exclusively to spatial species turnover (βSIM=0.879), with very low contribution of species nestedness (βSNE=0.028). Our research showed that species richness does not decrease with elevation in the study area, but the floristic composition changes. The clear distinction of species along the gradient show that spatial species turnover is the major diversity-generating process in the studied area. 相似文献
