1987年6月5日晨,资勒沟暴发了一场灾害性泥石流,沟口的公路桥和凉红道班被摧毁,致使5名道班工人死亡。该沟是一条暴发频率很低的泥石流沟。这场泥石流是由局地暴雨激发而引起的,雨强为55.2毫米/小时。泥石流为粘性,容重2.18吨/立方米,最大流量352.1立方米/秒,最大流速10—12米/秒,总冲出物方量约8万—9万立方米。  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Gullies are common erosional features in the Piedmont of North Carolina that have often been studied as indicators of poor land-management practices. However, the timing of gully formation, and thus the specific practices that caused their formation, has been largely overlooked in the literature. Here, we use the timing of gully formation to examine the geomorphic and anthropogenic triggers for erosion in the Piedmont. To do this, we mapped 74 gullies in the landscape and found that most contained alluvium within the gully or in alluvial fans. Soil pits were dug at a subset of the gully sites (16 in alluvium, 1 in colluvium, and 1 upland comparison) and examined for soil development, organic content, and particle size. Seven charcoal fragments were sampled from the soil pits and were radiocarbon dated. Radiocarbon ages cluster in the late 1700s, which suggests that early European settlers had an immediate impact on the landscape through deforestation and agriculture. The swift response of the landscape to deforestation and agriculture indicates that the argillic Piedmont soils are pre-disposed to erosion. Our results highlight the importance of erosion prevention as reforested farmland is cleared during urban expansion.  相似文献

Small gullies occur in forested gully systems on the undulating loess plateau in southern Poland. The old gully hillslopes are mainly covered with 200-year old beech trees in contrast with the surface of the summit plateau, which is cultivated agricultural land. Beech roots are exposed in the gullies through erosion. Wood vessels in the root tree rings divide into early wood and late wood and, after the roots are exposed, start to make fewer vessels. These anatomical changes in root tree rings allow us to date erosion episodes.Small gullies form in a different manner on the valley floor and on hillslopes. In valley bottoms, erosion features are often formed at some distance from one another, and in time small gullies combine to form a single, longer one. Depending on local conditions, such as the hillslope profile, hillslopes may exhibit headward erosion or may be eroded downwards. Hilllope gullies may be transformed into side valleys as a result of gradual widening and deepening.Dating the exposure of roots indicates that small gullies had already formed in the valley system by 1949. Intensive gully erosion was recorded between 1984 and 2002, during intense precipitation in 1984 and, of particular note, during the extraordinary flood of 1997 which affected all of Central Europe. The mean rate of small gully erosion in the old gully system studied is 0.63 m/year. On hillslopes the mean gully erosion rate is 0.21–0.52 m/year, and on the valley bottoms 0.18–1.98 m/year. High bottom erosion rates resulted from the emergence of long gullies during the erosion episodes in 1984 and 1997. Sheet flow in valley floors intensifies at times of heavy rainfall which causes long gullies to form.Taking into account the fact that conditions favoured erosion, the rate at which the old gullies under forest were transformed should be considered slow. New side gullies form slowly within the valley and it appears that if erosion progressed at the rate observed, new side valleys would take a few hundred years to form.  相似文献

Due to the extensive gullying from historically excessive erosion in the loess plateau of China, much of this region is being converted to native grass and shrub vegetation. Tunnel scour and mass wasting are important gully erosion processes resulting from preferential flow through macropores ( pores 〉 1 mm diameter). The objective of this study is to assess the changes with time in macropore flow characteristics of soils on the Loess Plateau following conversion to grass vegetation and the associated degree of mass wasting of gully faces. Ridge areas that had been revegetated for 1 year, 6 years, and 〉 15 years following tilling, and for 6 years following contour-ditching and the adjacent gully faces were characterized for their macropore and soil matrix properties on a 50 cm by 50 cm area. The total number of macropores increased from 11.6/m^2 to 39.6/m2 from 1 to 6 years and to 51.6/m2 after 15 years of revegetation following tillage. The macroporosity increased from 0.0008 m^3/m^3 to 0.0018 m^3/m^3 from 1 to 6 years of revegetation following tillage but the lowest macroporosity (0.0005 m3/m3) was 6 years of revegetation following contour-ditching. The contourditched area had the lowest infiltration rate (95 m/d) through the soil matrix (areas without macropores) with the tilled areas having similar infiltration rates regardless of the number of years of revegetation (averaged 146 m/d). Due to tunnel scour erosion of macropores during infiltration into the area revegetated for 1 year, pore diameters enlarged by more than 200% resulting in this condition having the highest individual macropore infiltration rates (7967 m/d). Macropores in all other areas were stable with no tunnel scour erosion of macropores. The total capacity for infiltration through macropores increased significantly with time following revegetation. The number of macropores on the gully faces was triple (92.8/m2) and the macroporosity quadruple (0.004 m3/m3) that of the ridge surfaces. The upper gully faces exhibited 1.1 slumps m^-1 for a total soil loss of 48622 kg per ha.  相似文献

通过对TM图像的线性纹理提取和密度统计,首先获得了黄土丘陵区沟谷密度图,然后由沟谷密度反演区域土壤侵蚀强度。这种方法避开了影响土壤侵蚀量的诸多复杂因子。可直接从水土流失的外在表现---沟谷密度来反推土壤侵蚀强度。研究结果证明,这种方法对快速调查大范围黄土丘陵区的土壤侵蚀强度是十分有效的。  相似文献

冰碛湖溃决泥石流是高山高寒地区一种常见的灾害类型,虽爆发频率低,但造成的危害极大,该类型的泥石流防治是区域开发建设中必须要面对的问题,而流量计算又是其核心问题之一。以西藏地区近100 a以来的冰碛湖溃决实例为基础,探讨了溃口深度的计算方法;以逐渐溃决模型和配方法为基础,分析了冰碛湖溃决泥石流的容重峰值流量与洪峰演进计算方法的适用性与流程;通过案例的对比研究,探讨了计算模型参数率定与误差来源。结果表明:瞬间溃决模型高估了冰碛湖溃决泥石流的峰值流量,泥石流的预测值偏保守;而逐渐溃决模型更接近于冰碛湖溃决的物理机制,在冰川U型谷内,可不考虑泥石流的堵塞作用,泥石流的峰值流量预测值与实测值较吻合;在冰川U型谷外或近沟口段则需考虑泥石流的堵塞作用。文中提出的计算模型作为冰碛湖溃决泥石流防治工程参数设计的依据是可行的。  相似文献

An existing dataset of area-specific sediment yield (SSY) for 60 catchments in Spain that was retrieved from sediment deposition rates in reservoirs [Avendaño Salas, C., Sanz Montero, E., Rayán, C., Gómez Montaña, 1997. Sediment yield at Spanish reservoirs and its relationship with the drainage basin area. In: Proceedings of the 19th Symposium of Large Dams, Florence, 1997. ICOLD (International Committee on Large Dams), pp. 863–874] reveals that catchment area alone explains only 17% of the variability in SSY. In this study, an attempt to explain the remaining variability in SSY was made using a quantitative and a semiqualitative approach for 22 catchments. During a field survey, the 22 selected catchments were characterised by topography, vegetation cover, lithology, shape and the presence of gullies in the broad vicinity of the reservoir. This information was used to develop a factorial scoring index model that provides a fairly accurate and reliable prediction of SSY. A classical multiple regression model using climatic, topographic and land use properties derived from regional datasets could not explain as much variance as the qualitative index model, nor did it appear to be as reliable. The same conclusion could be drawn when using the CORINE soil erosion risk map of southern Europe. The low prediction capability of the multiple regression models and the CORINE soil erosion risk map could be attributed mainly to the fact that these methods do not incorporate gully erosion and that the land cover data are not a good representation of soil cover. Both variables have been shown to be of great importance during the field surveys. Future assessments of SSY could be quickly and efficiently made using the proposed factorial scoring index model. In comparison with other models, which demand more data, the index model offers an alternative prediction tool.  相似文献

1988年7月15日西藏波密米堆终碛湖发生溃决,最大洪峰流量1270立方米/秒,溃决水量540万立方米,形成了大规模的泥石流-洪水灾害。冰湖溃决的原因是;终碛堤存在渗漏薄弱环节,堤内有埋藏冰;持续高温和冰川融水的潜热使埋藏冰融化,由潜蚀而迅速发展成管涌导致溃决。  相似文献
