Tension infiltrometers allow water to infiltrate into the soils at various specified pressure heads. The resulting infiltration rates can then be analysed for soil hydraulic properties by either analytical or inverse numerical methods. Tension infiltrometers however are primarily designed to be deployed on horizontal land surfaces, and their applications have been studied widely using an inverse numerical tool HYDRUS‐2D. However, natural landscapes are often nonhorizontal, and infiltration through tension infiltrometers on sloped surfaces is no longer an axisymmetrical two‐dimensional (2D) process but a fully three‐dimensional (3D) one. In addition, minimal research has examined the effect of simplifying the 3D problem to a 2D one on the hydraulic conductivity estimated using tension infiltrometer data from different land slopes of various soil types. Therefore, in this study, tension infiltrometer data on different slopes have been obtained from a catchment located at National University of Singapore. In addition, tension infiltrometer data of six soil types on different slopes and with different initial water content were simulated using HYDRUS‐3D. Combining field measurements, forward and inverse modelling, the influence of applying a 2D approximation on hydraulic property estimations using tension infiltrometer data was examined. The results show that the estimations for soils with high infiltration rates are more sensitive to application of the 2D approximation. The maximum allowable slopes for employing 2D approximation on clayey and sandy soils are 25° and less than 3°, respectively. This work addresses in‐plane pressure P and vertically polarized shear SV seismic wave propagation in a finite, laterally inhomogeneous, multilayered poroelastic geological region resting on the homogeneous elastic half‐space. The particular approach followed here is based on a combination of the (i) viscoelastic approximation (isomorphism) to Biot's equations of dynamic poroelasticity and on the (ii) boundary integral equation method (BIEM) using frequency‐dependent fundamental solutions of the governing wave equations. The problem is formulated under plane strain conditions and time‐harmonic motions are assumed. Validation of the viscoelastic isomorphism and verification of the BIEM is done by solution of benchmark examples. These simulation studies reveal that the proposed methodology is able to depict a sensitivity of the seismic signals recovered to the following parameters: (i) poroelastic properties of fluid saturated layers; (ii) lateral geological inhomogeneity; (iii) surface topography and (iv) frequency content and direction of the incident wave. It is concluded that the combination of viscoelastic isomorphism with BIEM software provides an effective numerical tool for evaluating site‐effect phenomena in multilayered, fluid saturated geological regions with complex geometry. The numerical results obtained demonstrate that dynamic poroelasticity interacting with other physical peculiarities of the Earth's surface layers, such as lateral heterogeneity, material properties along the wave path, local geological profile and type of elastic wave, gives rise to complex seismic signals on the free surface at the site of interest. Using the recently developed expansion formulae for wave structure interaction problems, the scattering of surface water waves by a semi-infinite floating membrane due to abrupt change in bottom topography is analyzed. Both the cases of finite and infinite steps are analyzed. In the present paper, the analysis is based on the linearized theory of water waves and small amplitude membrane response. Combining the linearized kinematic and dynamic surface conditions on the water surface with the dynamic pressure condition on the membrane, a third order differential equation is derived to describe the membrane covered free surface condition. General wave energy relation for wave scattering by floating horizontal membrane is derived by the application of law of conservation of energy flux and alternately by the direct application of Green's second identity. In the floating membrane covered region, the wave energy density is a combination of the kinetic and potential energy density due to the surface gravity waves, and the surface energy density which is due to the existence of the floating membrane on the free surface. Gravity wave transformations due to an abrupt change in bottom topography in the presence of a floating membrane in finite water depth are analyzed based on shallow water approximation. Numerical results are computed and analyzed to understand the wave transformation due to the floating membrane when there is an abrupt change in topography in different cases.  相似文献

A unified method of approximation, extrapolation, and objective layering is offered for processing vertical oceanographic profiles. The method is demonstrated using seawater density and consists of adjustable splitting of each individual profile into N vertical layers based on tentative, piecewise linear homogeneous approximation with specified accuracy and a final fitting of an N-layered analytical model to data. A set of 3N coefficients of the model includes one density value at the sea surface; N−1 depths of layer interfaces; and N pairs of coefficients that describe a profile shape within the n-th layer—an asymptotic density value (a key parameter for extrapolation) and a vertical scale of maximum density variability (related to vertical gradient). Several distinctive characteristics of the technique are: (1) It can be used for the analysis of the vertical structure of individual profiles when N is an unknown parameter, and spatial interpolation when N should be equal for all profiles. (2) A justified downward extrapolation of incomplete data is possible with the model, especially if historical deepwater profiles are available. (3) Layer interfaces, as well as other coefficients, are derived with only one fitting to the entire profile. (4) The technique, using its general formulation, can serve as a parent for developing various types of models. The simpler step-like (with hyperbolic or exponential approximation) and more complicated smooth (continuous in gradient space) models were designed and tested against a large number of density profiles from the Sea of Okhotsk and the Gulf of California. Comparison of parametric, z-levels and isopycnal averaging was done for the region off the northeastern coast of Sakhalin.  相似文献

高分五号(GF-5)搭载的高光谱传感器兼顾宽覆盖和高分辨率的特性,但在实际应用中宽覆盖范围内各种地物类别的标注十分困难。当标记样本很少甚至没有标记样本时,遥感图像分类异常困难。此时,可以采用域适应方法,借助已标记的历史数据(源域)实现对未标记数据(目标域)的分类。本文提出了一种基于稀疏矩阵变换的关联对齐域适应分类算法。首先,利用稀疏矩阵变换估计源域和目标域的协方差矩阵;然后,运用协方差关联对齐方法估计源域到目标域的变换矩阵;接着,运用估计得到的变换矩阵将源域数据进行变换,使得其与目标域对齐;最后,在变换后的源域数据上建立分类器,实现对目标域数据的分类。本文的算法在两个真实的GF-5高光谱数据集上进行了验证。实验结果表明,本文算法要优于常用的子空间对齐算法和关联对齐算法。特别地,在黄河口GF-5数据上,本文算法比原始关联对齐方法的最近邻分类准确率提升了3.5%,支持向量机分类准确率提升了2.3%。  相似文献

传统的波动方程走时核函数(或走时Fréchet导数)多基于互相关时差测量方式及地震波场的一阶Born近似导出,其成立条件非常苛刻.然而,地震波走时与大尺度的速度结构具有良好的线性关系,对于小角度的前向散射波场,Rytov近似优于Born近似.因此,本文基于Rytov近似和互相关时差测量方式,导出了基于Rytov近似的有限频走时敏感度核函数的两种等价形式:频率积分和时间积分表达式.在此基础之上,本文提出了一种隐式矩阵向量乘方法,可以直接计算Hessian矩阵或者核函数与向量的乘积,而无需显式计算和存储核函数及Hessian矩阵.基于隐式矩阵向量乘方法,本文利用共轭梯度法求解法方程实现了一种高效的Gauss-Newton反演算法求解走时层析反问题.与传统的敏感度核函数反演方法相比,本文方法在每次迭代过程中,无需显式计算和存储核函数,极大降低了存储需求.与基于Born近似的伴随状态方法走时层析相比,本文方法具有准二阶的收敛速度,且适用范围更广.数值试验证明了本文方法的有效性.  相似文献

Non‐hyperbolic generalised moveout approximation is a powerful tool to approximate the travel‐time function by using information obtained from two rays. The standard approach for parameter selection is using three parameters defined from zero‐offset ray and two parameters obtained from a reference ray. These parameters include the travel time and travel‐time derivatives of different order. The original parameter selection implies more fit at zero offset compared with offset from a reference ray. We propose an alternative approach for parameter selection within the frame of generalised moveout approximation by transferring more fit from the zero offset to a reference ray by changing in parameter selection. The modified approximation is tested against the original one in few analytical model examples, including the multi‐layered model.  相似文献

Reliable estimation of the timescales of seawater retreat (SWR) in coastal aquifers has significant implications for sustainable groundwater management in coastal areas. Due to the complexity of coastal dynamics, analytical estimates of SWR timescales are limited in number, and numerical models are mainly utilized. Although numerical models allow for accurate analysis of the coastal systems, they concern particular aquifer cases, thus their results are not generally applicable. Here, we perform a dimensional analysis for the depth-integrated freshwater/seawater continuity equations and identify the dimensionless parameters that affect SWR in confined, homogeneous and flux-controlled aquifers. Based on numerical simulations, we gain insight into how these parameters affect SWR, and produce type curves which can be used as a simple tool for estimating SWR timescales in idealized coastal systems, independent of the hydraulic and geometric characteristics of the aquifer. The reliability of our estimates in real-world applications is also discussed.  相似文献

A method for regional assessment of the distribution of saline outbreaks is demonstrated for a large area (68 000 km2) in north Queensland, Australia. Soil samples were used in conjunction with a digital elevation model and a map of potentially saline discharge zones to examine the landscape distribution of soluble salts in the region. The hypothesis of atmospheric accession of salt was tested for the topographically defined catchment regions feeding into each potentially saline discharge area. Most catchments showed a salt distribution consistent with this hypothesis, i.e. %TSS was large near the discharge areas and decreased rapidly with distance uphill from the discharge areas. In some catchments, however, local saline outbreaks were apparent at significant distances uphill from discharge areas. The possibility of geological sources of this salt was examined by comparing random point distributions with the location of saline points with distance downhill from geological units (excluding points near discharge zones). The distribution of some saline outbreaks was consistent with the occurrence of Cambro‐Ordovician metasediments, Devonian limestone, Upper Devonian–Lower Carboniferous volcanics, and Triassic sediments. 基于二维线性理论,得到了有限深海洋中弱地形上内潮生成问题的解析解。与前人的结果相比,研究中没有采用静力近似。结果表明,静力近似的采用与否对内潮能通量有明显影响。对于高斯地形,没有采用静力近似的情况下得到的能通量总是比采用静力近似得到的能通量小。特别是当Brunt-Vaisala频率与局地潮频率相近时,采用静力近似得到的结果明显高估了内潮能通量。当Brunt-Vaisala频率远大于局地潮频率时,静力近似的采用与否对内潮能通量的估算影响很小。  相似文献
