Karst water is one of important potable water especially in arid and semiarid zones. Due to its vulnerability and high sensitivity
to pollution, water resources protection is one of important measures to be observed in karst resources management. One case
study in the The Maharlu Basin, Iran is discussed. Findings are used to postulate regional guidelines for establishing protection
and management measures in important karst pumping fields. Suggested locations for new wells in valleys or depressions should
be selected on the basis of specialized hydrogeological investigation. Recommendations for first, second and third degree
levels of protection based on European standards are suggested and then defined by model. The first degree protection zone
around the pumping field is recommended to be 10 × 10 m2. The second degree protection zone should be established to protect primarily from biological pollution. The third degree

Groundwater vulnerability assessment schemes are used for the estimation of potential groundwater contamination at different
scales and on different administrative levels. However, the term vulnerability is not standardized and the available methods
are not able to give a unique assessment of vulnerability creating thus uncertainty in the interpretation and in further application
concerning decision creation processes. To judge the information of vulnerability maps certainly and to value the general
trends of vulnerability assessment of different methods, four different vulnerability methods of the parametric system group
have been applied on a karst area in southwestern Germany to perform a comparative assessment and correlation of these vulnerability
assessment methods, namely DRASTIC, PI, EPIK, and GLA. It is shown that by means of simple statistical considerations the
first highly different vulnerability maps could be made more coherent after reclassification. The reclassified vulnerability
assessments show a more consistent vulnerability distribution pattern and provide the possibility of area-wide validation
of the maps as the chosen vulnerability classification is theoretically connected to the mean transit time of percolation
water and is largely independent of the applied vulnerability assessment method. 相似文献

Significant and various impacts of climate change have been observed in China, showing both positive and adverse effects, dominantly the latter, in different sectors and regions. It is very likely that future climate change would cause significant adverse impacts on the ecosystems, agriculture, water resources, and coastal zones in China. Adoption of adaptive measures to climate change can alleviate the adverse impact, therefore such measures should be incorporated into the medium-and long-term national economic and social development plans. Because China has done relatively limited research on impact assessment and our understanding of climate change is incomplete, the current impact assessment methodologies used and results obtained contain many uncertainties. To reduce the uncertainties and develop effective and practical climate change adaptive measures in China, it is necessary to emphasize regional case studies on adaptive measures, enlarge the scope of climate change research, and strengthen the assessment of the impacts resulted from extreme weather/climate events. 相似文献
