Comparative Analysis and Assessment of Forest Landowner Typologies

Landowner typologies help researchers and practitioners understand similarities and differences among landowners, allowing more targeted education and communications. These typologies have rarely been rigorously assessed before recommended for use. We assessed three typologies created with one data set using three methods: reliability through split halves, predictive validity using external variables, and application of quality typology criteria. We conducted the work using a New York State landowner survey data set about early successional habitat management behavior. According to the assessment, none of the three typologies stood out as clearly the best—each had its strengths and weaknesses. The assessment provided a more complete understanding of different approaches and will allow researchers to be more informed when they select a typology to use to inform education and communications.     

VPN安全性与地址冲突研究

为了解决校园网络升级改造过程中引入DMZ与VPN技术后,导致的内网资源安全性降低与虚拟IP地址碰撞的难题,在传统VPN解决方案基础上,提出虚拟IP地址生成算法与IP地址连接池的思想。异地用户通过VPN访问内网资源时,必需使用IP地址连接池来获取虚拟IP地址,实现虚拟IP地址分配的动态管束,有效控制虚拟IP地址的随意分配,避免因争夺虚拟IP地址资源而产生的碰撞问题。这种方法对于提高VPN网络的安全性和访问效率,遏制黑客通过匹配IP地址的方式入侵内网、保护内网资源安全与解决地址冲突问题非常有效。     

浮动车轨迹点地图匹配及插值算法

针对带有定位误差和异常值的浮动车轨迹点数据,该文设计并实现了滑动窗口最优路径地图匹配算法,在综合考虑轨迹点的空间几何关系和路网拓扑关系基础上,为轨迹点匹配最优道路并纠正轨迹点误差。其次,针对稀疏且时间间隔不稳定的匹配后轨迹点,设计改进的Hermite插值法拟合车辆运动状态,并对稀疏轨迹点进行时序插值。利用南京市出租车轨迹点数据进行匹配算法与插值算法的验证,实验结果表明匹配算法具有较高准确性,插值算法能有效还原车辆行驶状态。

民间力量参与海上公益性救助的激励机制探析

海难救助可以界分为公益救助与私益救助两类。民间力量参与海上公益救助具有重要的现实意义。海商法中以民事请求权思路为主的救助激励机制能有效激励私益救助,却不足以充分保障参与海上公益救助的民间主体之权益。应适当跳出海商法学的框架,借助行政法学的视角,根据海上公益救助的具体情形,由国家对参与救助的民间主体给予不同性质的补偿或奖励,以弥补私法逻辑的局限,为其积极参与海上公益救助解除经济利益损失的后顾之忧。     

Urban structures and daily mobility patterns in a city of long distances—the case of Muscat/Oman

Population growth, urban sprawl and a high degree of car dependency as well as slowly rising petrol prices contribute towards increasing challenges for everyday urban mobility in Muscat, Oman. Until now, only a few empirical studies have dealt with urban mobility in Oman. Therefore, this article draws mainly on our own empirical findings to answer the following questions: What do daily and weekly mobility patterns look like in Muscat? How do these practices differ depending on the social position of the household, i.e. their nationality, income and education? Which interdependent effects can be discerned between everyday mobility practices and the fragmented and segregated urban structures? Since our research questions focus on the interrelations between urban structures and individual mobility, we chose a mixed‐methods approach including methods derived both from social and spatial research. This article in particular draws on our quantitative survey covering 850 households and extensive mappings of three selected case study areas and secondary data analysis.

Carolina Thunder Revisited: Toward a Transcultural View of Winston Cup Racing*

Almost three decades ago, cultural geographer Richard Pillsbury documented the national expansion of NASCAR and what he considered the erosion of major‐league stock car racing as a unique southern tradition. This claim is reassessed in light of recent research, leading us to suggest that the sport is actually “transcultural” in nature. It is influenced simultaneously by tradition and transition, as well as regional and national forces. In revisiting Pillsbury's seminal work, we document major changes and continuities in Winston Cup racing and briefly examine two North Carolina cases that provide contradictory views on the current relationship between the sport and the American South. North Wilkesboro illustrates how the changing geography of track locations can devalue and demoralize places associated with the tradition of southern stock car racing. The greater Charlotte area demonstrates that the South remains an important part of NASCAR, serving as a gathering place and “knowledge community” for drivers, racing teams, and fans from across the country. In addition to advancing research in the geography of sport and popular culture, the article encourages readers to think critically about regional cultures and their relationship to the forces of nationalization.     

基于浮动车数据的旅游景点周边路网容量研究——以厦门岛为例

随着旅游业的快速发展,旅游城市在法定节假日出现了交通需求的大幅增长,导致不同程度的交通问题。本文利用厦门市的浮动车数据(FCD),分别选取2014年10月1日与10月14日作为节假日与工作日的样本进行研究,首先通过OD点核密度估计判断节假日与工作日出行在时空上的差异,确定研究的时空范围;其次,通过对FCD数据进行核密度估计分析旅游景点周边的车流量变化,并与路段的等级、车道数等道路设施属性进行对比,推测路网的容量;最后进一步通过计算路网中路段行程车速验证方法的可行性。结果显示：节假日期间的旅游交通与工作日的通勤交通在时空分布上存在差异,同时基于FCD数据研究旅游景点周边的路网容量是有效的,厦大—南普陀景点周边路网在节假日期间无法满足车流量的需求。本文对旅游景点周边路网容量的评估结果可为旅游旺季旅游路网的合理规划与管控提供依据。
