FREDERICK JACKSON TURNER AS A REGIONALIST∗

Basic contemporary portfolio models are applied to an interregional economic analysis of U.S. Census Regions during 1963-1978. The models are well suited the type of analysis that partitions a region's economic cycle into national and local components. Portfolio theory provides a logic for interregional cross investment; results of an empirical test indicate portfolio theory may be superior to simple neoclassical theory in explaining spatial patterns of capital investment.     

上海外资生产空间演变及影响因素

利用2004 年经济普查数据对上海制造业外资企业的空间分布、区位选择及其空间效应进行了研究。空间分布结果表明,20 世纪90 年代以来,上海外资企业在分布上表现出明显的郊区化和向近郊区局部地区(尤其是园区和新城) 集聚的特征,并形成了沪西南、浦东和沪西北3 大集聚区;制造业外资企业的分散和集聚推动了上海外资生产空间的郊区化重组。对制造业外资企业区位选择影响因素的分析显示：上海制造业外资企业区位选择是经济全球化与地方政府互动的过程;具体来说,传统区位因素作用在逐渐减弱,制度因素和集聚因素的作用在不断增强;制度因素内部产业优惠政策对外资的吸引力强于空间优惠政策,而国家级园区优惠政策对制造业外资企业(尤其是高技术外资企业) 的吸引力则强于市级园区,上述研究对上海未来的产业及外资引进政策都具有重要的参考意义。     

基础设施投入效率时空演变及其关联格局研究——基于中国地级以上城市的实证

绿色招商与县域经济可持续发展——以河南省为例

以河南省县域经济发展为例论述了招商引资对于县域经济发展的重要性,并从可持续发展的角度对当前全民招商的现象进行了反思.在此基础上,讨论了绿色招商的内涵和主要原则,指出绿色招商和循环经济是实现县域经济可持续发展的关键所在.根据县城经济发展的特点,以河南省新郑市和义马市循环经济发展为例,从理论和实证的角度,对县域农业和工业循环经济两大体系构建进行了论述,并对县域绿色招商中应注意的问题,如市场有效性、招商载体构建、实体虚拟产业循环结合等进行了探讨.     

Interrogating the ten-year transport plan

This paper presents an analysis of Transport 2010, the government's ten-year plan for transport. It develops discussions held by members of the RGS-IBG's Transport Geography Research Group (TGRG) in September 2000. It is argued that the plan marks something of a return to previous policies designed to accommodate increasing mobility.

US EMPLOYMENT IN FOREIGN-OWNED HIGH TECHNOLOGY FIRMS*

The spatial distribution of foreign-owned high technology firms in the United States is poorly understood, as is the degree to which emplyment in foreign-owned firms and US-owned firms coincides or differs in their distribution. Data from 1988 indicate that while total employment in foreign-owned high technology firms was not statistically different from that of US-owned firms, marked differences were evident in particular sectors, including software, advanced materials, and pharmaceuticals. By nation of ownership, only Swiss firms departed significantly from the US distribution.     

回转椭球电场问题一种新解法

讨论关于回转椭球静态场求解的一般方法，借助回转椭圆坐标系，静态场问题的一般解可以用实宗量和虚宗量勒让德函数以及余弦函数形式表出，使得结果更为简明和系统化。所得结果可以直接应用到椭球导体电场、尖端效应、介质椭球极化以至双极化雷达测量降水问题等，具有相当具体的实用价值。     

The onset of chaotic motion in the restricted problem of three bodies

A full characterization of a nonintegrable dynamical system requires an investigation into the chaotic properties of that system. One such system, the restricted problem of three bodies, has been studied for over two centuries, yet few studies have examined the chaotic nature of some ot its trajectories. This paper examines and classifies the onset of chaotic motion in the restricted three-body problem through the use of Poincaré surfaces of section, Liapunov characteristic numbers, power spectral density analysis and a newly developed technique called numerical irreversibility. The chaotic motion is found to be intermittent and becomes first evident when the Jacobian constant is slightly higher thanC ₂.
