随着遥感技术、计算机技术和网络技术的发展,在应用需求牵引下,以GoogleEarth为代表的3维虚拟地球得到迅速发展和应用.对此,主要讨论了几个主要3维虚拟地球系统及特点.结合地理信息服务技术的发展趋势,介绍了自主研制的开放式虚拟地球集成共享平台GeoGlobe及其应用特点,阐述了虚拟地球技术与应用的发展趋势.

移动位置服务在未来几年内将成为移动运营商的主要增值手段,中国联通今年将在CDMA1x网络中启动gpsOne定位业务。通过分析比较各种定位技术,根据监外服刑监管系统的要求,提出采用中国联通的CDMA1x网络和gpsOne定位平台来进行数据传输和位置跟踪的监管系统整体解决方案,并在系统架构、电子镣铐的软硬件设计等方面进行了初步的探讨。

Probabilistic and statistical relationships between number of vehicles and number of visitors at a geologic site in a National Park

The National Park Service needs to establish in all of the national parks how large the parking lots should be in order to enjoy and preserve our natural resources, for example, in the Delicate Arch in the Arches National Park. Probabilistic and statistical relationships were developed between the number of vehicles (N) at one time in the Wolfe Ranch parking lot and the number of visitors (X) at Delicate Arch 1.5 miles away in the Arches National Park, southeastern Utah. The value ofN is determined such that 30 or more visitors are at the arch only 10% of the time.

分布式异构多级空间数据转换机制的研究与实现

目前GIS软件的种类繁多,数据格式极不统一,行业间GIS数据格式差异相当大,造成了重复建库、浪费资源、数据难以维护的局面。鉴于以上现状,本文提出了一种基于Web Service、GML技术的分布式异构多级空间数据转换的解决方案,旨在实现不同类型、不同存放介质GIS数据之间无损失的数据共享。提供给用户的使用程序逻辑概念清楚,操作简单,部署方便。     

Learning where to offend: Effects of past on future burglary locations

Informed by a growing literature on space-time patterns of repeat and near repeat burglary victimization, a crime location choice model was used to test whether burglars are attracted to areas they previously targeted. Using data in 3337 detected burglaries from one UK police force, and accounting for the distance to the offender's residence, and for other factors that make target areas attractive to burglars, it was demonstrated that burglars were more likely to commit a burglary in an area they had targeted before. This was particularly the case if the prior burglary was (very) recent. Areas near to those in which burglaries had been committed were also more likely to be selected.
