Mythos and techne: An essay on the intercultural function of territory in sub-Saharan geography

Territorial symbolism in sub-Saharan Africa calls to mind multiple forms of knowledge. More particularly, territorial significance is fed both by magical and sacred beliefs and by knowledge based on empirical observation and concrete practices. These two types of knowledge differ widely as to their nature, the procedures by which they are formed, and the cultural values they embody. Nevertheless, semantic interaction between mythical knowledge and technical knowledge is remarkably rich. By blurring the distinction between mythos and techne, this semantic interaction seems to constitute an important cultural tool for building feelings of social security in that it reinforces and stabilizes socio-geographic patterns, and more especially those which regulate access to space and natural resources. Sharing academic space

This paper is a personal reflection on my participation in the panel “The Spaces of Critical Geography” at the ICGC in 2002, where my position as an European Americanist working in Asia was helpful in disrupting any tendency towards conflation of location, nationality, identity, and academic practice. These reflections focus on three topics: my interactions with various hegemonies and hierarchies; my relationship with the English language; and the contribution I believe critical geography can make to contemporary academic practice across the disciplines.

一种在等值线图上任意截取剖面的Matlab语言算法

这里给出了一种在等值线图上任意截取剖面的Matlab语言算法。通过在等值线图上直接用鼠标拾取剖面的端点，基于该算法的程序会搜索出符合所想要截取的剖面的坐标位置和等值线变量，并绘出所截剖面图：剖面的方向是任意的，其条数也没有限制。

VB与Visual Fortran混合语言编程及其在物探化探数值计算中的应用

作者在本文中详细介绍了VB与Visual Fortran(VB\VF)混合语言编程技术，尤其是对怎样用VB语言调用Fortran动态连接库（DLL）进行了详细的说明。将VB\VF进行混合语言编程一方面可以达到这两种语言的优势互补的目的，另一方面可以再利用前人留下的大量成熟的Fortan程序，避免了重复编程和资源浪费，节约了大量编程时间。混合语言编程在物探化探数值计算中是一种很有前途的编程方法。     

用C51语言实现步进电机的运行速度控制

作者在本文中首先介绍步进电子机的速度运行原理，对整个运行阶段进行详细分析，然后在此基础上给出一以AT89C2051单片机控制四相步进电机运行速度的实例，并给出了控制电路原理图及相应控制的C51程序。
