A 43 cm long E271 sediment core collected near the East Pacific Rise(EPR) at 13°N were studied to investigate the origin of smectite for understanding better the geochemical behavior of hydrothermal material after deposition.E271 sediments are typical metalliferous sediments. After removal of organic matter, carbonate, biogenic opal,and Fe-Mn oxide by a series of chemical procedures, clay minerals(2 μm) were investigated by X-ray diffraction,chemical analysis and Si isotope analysis. Due to the influence of seafloor hydrothermal activity and close to continent, the sources of clay minerals are complex. Illite, chlorite and kaolinite are suggested to be transported from either North or Central America by rivers or winds, but smectite is authigenic. It is enriched in iron, and its contents are highest in clay minerals. Data show that smectite is most likely formed by the reaction of hydrothermal Fe-oxyhydroxide with silica and seawater in metalliferous sediments. The Si that participates in this reaction may be derived from siliceous microfossils(diatoms or radiolarians), hydrothermal fluids, or detrital mineral phases. And their δ30 Si values are higher than those of authigenic smectites, which implies that a Si isotope fractionation occurs during the formation because of the selective absorption of light Si isotopes onto Feoxyhydroxides. Sm/Fe mass ratios(a proxy for overall REE/Fe ratio) in E271 clay minerals are lower than those in metalliferous sediments, as well as distal hydrothermal plume particles and terrigenous clay minerals. This result suggests that some REE are lost during the smectite formation, perhaps because their large ionic radii of REE scavenged by Fe-oxyhydroxides preclude substitution in either tetrahedral or octahedral lattice sites of this mineral structure, which decreases the value of metalliferous sediments as a potential resource for REE.  相似文献

近些年,黄色系硅化造礁石珊瑚以其独特的花纹和美丽的颜色受到了人们的关注和喜爱。为充分认识硅化造礁石珊瑚的结构特征及颜色成因,本文采用X射线粉末衍射仪、偏光显微镜、热场发射扫描电子显微镜、紫外-可见光分光光度计和拉曼光谱仪对3块天然黄色系硅化造礁石珊瑚进行了研究。结果表明: 所研究的硅化造礁石珊瑚空腔区与隔片区石英颗粒的形态、种类及分布特征不同。当隔片和体壁所围成的空腔或是共骨之间的空腔足够大时,沿空腔内壁到中心,石英颗粒的种类和形态从不规则的细粒→他形的中粒→他形-半自形粗粒;当空腔受到挤压时,石英颗粒主要为他形或似纤维状的细粒石英。隔片区的石英颗粒主要为细粒石英。在偏光显微镜下观察到的黄色-褐红色的矿物经证实为针铁矿和赤铁矿,其中赤铁矿是黄色系硅化造礁石珊瑚的主要致色矿物。受造礁石珊瑚骨骼结构的影响,微观上针铁矿和赤铁矿总是以色素点的方式存在于极细粒或细粒石英颗粒的间隙,宏观上富集于隔片区和空腔边缘。  相似文献

在宏观和微观地质特征研究基础上,运用硅同位素动力学分馏原理,结合硅质阴极发光分析,论证了微细浸染型金矿的成矿硅质、矿质和流体主要直接来源于上地幔分异或深部循环的超临界流体,并认为这种深部因素可能对形成大型和超大型矿床发挥了重要作用.这对该类型金矿的成因研究及找矿开辟了新的思路.  相似文献

利用Nd:YAG纳秒激光(波长为532和355 nm)对单晶硅在真空中进行了累积脉冲辐照,研究了表面微结构的演化情况.在激光辐照的初始阶段,532和355 nm激光脉冲均在硅表面诱导出了波纹结构,后者辐照硅表面后形成了近似同心但稍显混乱的环形波纹结构.随着脉冲数的增加,波纹结构逐渐演化为一种类似珠形的凹凸结构,最后形成准规则排列的微米量级锥形结构,该微结构的生长依赖于表面张力波和结构自组织.分析发现,形成的交叉环形结构主要是在355 nm激光辐照硅的过程中,表面张力波导致波纹结构部分叠加的结果.  相似文献

A model based on that of Kishi et al. (2001) has been extended to 15 compartments including silicon and carbon cycles. This model was applied to Station A7 off Hokkaido, Japan, in the Northwestern Pacific. The model successfully simulated the observations of: 1. a spring bloom of diatoms; 2. large seasonal variations of nitrate and silicate concentrations in the surface water; and 3. large inter-annual variations in chlorophyll-a. It also reproduced the observed features of the seasonal variations of carbon dioxide partial pressure (pCO2)—a peak in pCO2 in winter resulting from deep winter convection, a rapid decrease in pCO2 as a result of the spring bloom, and an almost constant pCO2 from summer through fall (when the effect of increasing temperature cancels the effect of biological production). A comparison of cases with and without silicate limitation shows that including silicate limitation in the model results in: 1. decreased production by diatoms during summer; and 2. a transition in the dominant phytoplankton species, from diatoms to other species that do not take up silicate. Both of these phenomena are observed at Station A7, and our results support the hypothesis that they are caused by silicate limitation of diatom growth. Jiaozhou Bay data collected from May 1991 to February 1994, in 12 seasonal investigations, and provided the authors by the Ecological Station of Jiaozhou B ay, were analyzed to determine the spatiotemporal variations in temperature, light, nutrients (NO-3-N, NO-2-N, NH+4-N, SiO2-3-Si, PO3-4-P), phytoplankton, and primary production in Jiaozhou Bay. The results indicated that only silicate correlated well in time and space with, and had important effects on, the characteristics, dynamic cycles and trends of, primary production in Jiaozhou Bay. The authors developed a corresponding dynamic model of primary production and silicate and water temperature. Eq.(1) of the model shows that the primary production variation is controlled by the nutrient Si and affected by water temp erature; that the main factor controlling the primary production is Si; that water temper ature affects the composition of the structure of phytoplankton assemblage; that the different populations of the phytoplankton assemblage occupy different ecologica l niches for C, the apparent ratio of conversion of silicate in seawater into phytoplankton biomas and D, the coefficient of water temperature's effect on phytoplankton biomass. The authors researched the silicon source of Jiaozhou Bay , the biogeochemical sediment process of the silicon, the phytoplankton predominan t species and the phytoplankton structure. The authors considered silicate a limit ing factor of primary production in Jiaozhou Bay, whose decreasing concentration of silicate from terrestrial source is supposedly due to dilution by current and up take by phytoplankton; quantified the silicate assimilated by phytoplankton, the intrins ic ratio of conversion of silicon into phytoplankton biomass, the proportion of silicate uptaken by phytoplankton and diluted by current; and found that the primary production of the phytoplankton is determined by the quantity of the silicate assimilated by them. The phenomenon of apparently high plant-nutrient concentrations but low phytoplankton biomass in some waters is reasonably explained in this paper.  相似文献

Effects of different silicon carbide contents on thermal shock resistance properties of mullite-bauxite castable refractory were analyzed respectively by taking the mullite,bauxite as main raw materials and taking calcium aluminate cement as a binding system.After 24 h curing in mould and another 24 h curing at 110℃ after demoulding,the samples were heated at 1000,1300 and 1500℃for 3 h in air,respectively.The bulk density,thermal expansion coefficient and thermal shock resistance were examined.The results showed that there was a great effect of content of SiC on bulk density,thermal expansion coefficient and thermal shock resistance of mullite-bauxite castable.Under the experimental conditions,the castable performed the best thermal shock resistance when w(SiC)=5%-10%.  相似文献

铝土矿具有较强的化学稳定性,常含有少量刚玉,属于比较难处理的样品。常用的四酸溶解法对不含刚玉的铝土矿能取得较好的效果,但对高铝及含刚玉的样品分解不完全且无法同时测定硅。本文对含刚玉的铝土矿样品在镍坩埚中用氢氧化钠-过氧化钠熔融,盐酸酸化后用电感耦合等离子体发射光谱法同时测定硅铝铁钛四种元素。对氢氧化钠-过氧化钠的熔样效果、过氧化钠用量、熔样温度、共存离子的影响及基体干扰进行了试验,结果表明,加入3.0 g氢氧化钠和1.0 g过氧化钠在650~700℃保温10 min,能较好地熔解含少量刚玉的铝土矿样品。利用铝土矿标准物质制备标准溶液,可消除镍坩埚和熔融试剂产生的镍盐和钠盐基体对硅铝铁钛测定的干扰。方法检出限为0.0025%~0.063%,精密度小于4%。铝土矿国家标准物质的测定值与标准值相符,实际样品的测定值与其他分析方法的测定值相吻合。本方法样品分解完全,消解时间短,分析步骤简单,适用于高铝及含少量刚玉的铝土矿样品分析。  相似文献

A horizontal shear flow having a Rossby number, Ro, greater than unity on a rotating plane can become unstable when its shear value is less than −f, the Coriolis frequency. In this paper, this instability is investigated for an O(10 km) submesoscale, sinusoidal shear flow in a thin homogeneous fluid layer as in an oceanic mixed layer or a shallow sea. The most unstable mode is shown by a linear analysis to occur in a narrow localized region centered around the maximum anticyclonic current shear. However, nonlinear numerical calculations show that the instability can grow to encompass both unstable and stable regions of the current. A consequence of this finite-amplitude evolution is the formation of surface convergence/shear fronts. The possibility that inertial instability mechanism is a source of some surface convergence/shear features seen in remote sensing images of the sea surface is discussed. A comparison is made with the shear-flow instability that can occur concurrently in a sinusoidal shear current, and inertial instability is shown to be the dominant instability mechanism in the immediate range above Ro=2.  相似文献
