根据中国1994~2006年经济发展水平与人口文化素质的统计资料,选取人均GDP和接受过不同教育程度的人口比重分别作为经济发展水平和人口文化素质的衡量指标。经济发展水平与人口文化素质之间的Pearson积差相关分析表明:经济发展水平与人口文化素质之间具有强相关性。针对经济发展水平与人口文化素质之间的强相关关系,运用中国经济发展水平与人口文化素质的时空序列数据,对经济发展水平(y)与人口文化素质(x)进行最优曲线拟合,拟合曲线表明:经济发展水平与人口文化素质之间存在对数关系模型:Y=a+blnx。 相似文献

The development of location-aware technologies, such as smartphones, raises serious questions regarding locational privacy and the ethical use of geographic data. The degree to which these concepts are taught in undergraduate geographic information science (GISci) courses is unknown. A survey of GISci educators shows that issues of privacy and ethics are important in a GISci education. However, a large proportion of GISci educators are not concerned about the loss of locational privacy and many do not devote classes to the subject. This study illuminates the effects of graduate education on primary teachers' awareness of geography. Data were collected through interviews with twenty-one teachers who held M.A. or Ph.D. degrees in geography and analyzed using Straussian-grounded theory. The participants were categorized into four types. Many teachers (type A) showed meaningful refinement in their awareness of geography, and some of them (type B and C) identified themselves as experts in primary geography. However, a few participants (type D) showed only marginal development of their geographic knowledge. Despite a long tradition of fieldwork and outdoor education in Norwegian schools, teachers and pupils are not familiar with conducting systematic field studies of modern urban environments. The authors of the present article are convinced that urban fieldwork ought to be included in the teaching syllabus in Norwegian schools, and for several years they have worked on developing urban fieldwork as a part of the study programme in teacher education at Nord-Trøndelag University College (Høgskolen in Nord-Trøndelag or HiNT). The fieldwork element has gradually been expanded, and in recent years pupils from neighbouring primary schools have participated in the programme. The use of ICT has increasingly become an important part of the work in the field as well as in the follow-up phase. Special emphasis has been put on the use of digital stories. The experiences of this work are presented and discussed in the article. In the final section of the article the authors discuss further development of urban fieldwork, paying particular attention to the use of new digital technology and enquiry approaches. 相似文献

America is embroiled in a culture war. National education standards have exacerbated the conflict. Supporters justify standards by adopting the rhetoric of globalization and national labor force preparedness. Opponents claim that standards threaten local control over value inculcation and social reproduction. This paper examines the “politics of scale” to hypothesize that conservatives have solicited Congressional support for local school choice and school prayer to subvert national education standards. There is a civilization at risk. In the middle of West Africa, just south of the Sahara, where the Niger River spills into
a vast floodplain (the Middle Niger), an indigenous urban civilization emerged around two thousand years ago. The story of
that civilization is just beginning to be uncovered from the thousands of tells (ancient settlement mounds) that litter the
Middle Niger, but archaeologists have until recently been loosing the race with the looters who plunder these sites for ancient
statues and bronze art. The nation of Mali, and the local community of Jenne at the epicenter of this looting recently invented
effective shields for the remains of this civilization, protections against local looters in the employ of a syndicate of
wealthy European antiquities dealers. In the person of the new, democratically-elected archaeologist-President, the nation
has articulated a vision of Mali’s future linked to the preservation of its past. The government has promulgated effective
regulations and education programs, and initiated with the United States the world’s first bilateral import ban between a
major “source” and a major “market” nation. This 1993 bilateral accord has become a prototype for many nations. In that same
year, Mali established a Cultural Mission at Jenne to reinforce local pride in a local past. This local pride, in only a short
period, has turned into a total protection of some 200 sites within a ten-kilometer radius of Jenne. These indigenous actions
have, in less than a decade, transformed the nonrenewable archaeological resources of the Jenne region from surely one of

The Department of Geography at Arizona State University implemented a field exam as part of its PhD program requirements. This field exam requires students to develop an independent field‐based research project based on a general question in the student's specialty area. A survey of current and former PhD students and faculty members document how the field exam assists students in developing skills necessary for continuing graduate research and for preparing them for the rigors of academic employment. The outcomes of the exam include both long‐term, process‐related benefits and more immediate tangible rewards. For some students, the preliminary fieldwork and results redirect student interests and form the basis for their eventual dissertation.
