The effects of free-surface waves on the floating structures are of great importance in the offshore industry. Among the six degrees of motions of a surface ship the absence of restoring forces in surge, sway and yaw led to critical situations for moored ships in the recent times. The order of forces in horizontal plane and their exciting frequencies are matters of interest. The resonance with the presence of moored chains led to many accidents in the recent past. The lines in dry conditions may not give good damping and in wet condition they may trigger the system to chaotic motions and jumps. Two different loading conditions of a container ship model are tested with waves in laboratory conditions in two different drafts. The mooring lines are chosen as per scale law and the energy under the response spectrum is determined from the plots. The results give new insights into the movement of a berthed ships subjected to waves. Response of the moored ship to different loading conditions in different water depths are discussed in this paper. The paper gives the order of energy due to first-order and slowly varying movement of a berthed container model in a towing tank. 相似文献

A comparison of two three-dimensional numerical modeling systems for tidal elevations and velocities in the coastal waters is presented. The two modeling systems are: (1) the Princeton Ocean Model (POM) and (2) the MIKE 3 flow model. The model performance results for Singapore's coastal waters show that the predicted tidal elevations from the two hydrodynamic modeling systems are almost identical and are in very good agreement with field measurement data. The simulated tidal current velocities match well with field measurement data at the selected stations, but it seems that the POM provides the slightly better simulation, compared to the MIKE 3 flow model. The depth profiles of the velocities obtained from the two modeling systems may be greatly different at some time, due to the vertical diffusion coefficient calculated from different turbulent sub-models in the two modeling systems. The POM generally predicts larger peak tidal velocities. The maximum speed differences for the model results from the two modeling systems occur in the top and differ from time to time and from location to location, reaching up to 20%. 相似文献

Seasonal dynamics of elemental sulfur in two coastal sediments 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A spectrophotometric method for elemental sulfur (S0) analysis without interference from other reduced sulfur compounds was adapted for the use in reducing sediments. The S0 distribution in two coastal sediments was studied regularly from summer to winter and compared to factors regulating the S0 accumulation, such as redox potentials, the rate of bacterial sulfide production and the general sulfur chemistry. Dense coatings of sulfur bacteria developed on the sediment surface of a sulfuretum which had an S0 concentration of up to 41 μmol S cm?3. The 2·5-mm thick bacterial coating contained 40% of all S0 in the sediment. A more typical marine sediment with a few cm thick oxidized surface layer had an S0 maximum of 1–3 μmol S cm?3 at 2–4 cm depth. The S0 maximum in both sediments increased from summer to winter as the sediments gradually became more oxidized. The deeper layers maintained a low S0 concentration. Most of the S0 in the upper few mm of a laboratory sulfuretum was present inside sulfur bacteria and actively migrated up and down with the bacteria depending upon the changing light and oxygen conditions. 相似文献

More than 40 national and regional geochemical mapping projects in the world carried out from 1973 to 1988 do not conform to common standards. In particular they have many analytical deficiencies. In the period 1988 to 1992, the International Geochemical Mapping project (Project 259 of UNESCO's IGCP Program) prepared recommendations designed to standardize geochemical mapping methods. The analytical requirements are an essential component of the overall recommendations. They included the following: 71 elements should be analyzed in future mapping projects; the detection limits of trace and ultratrace elements must be lower than the corresponding crustal abundances; and the Chinese GSD and Canadian STSD standard sample series should be used for the correlation of global data. A proposal was also made to collect 5000 composite samples, at very low sampling densities to cover the whole Earth's land surface. In 1997 an IUGS Working Group on Global Geochemical Baselines was formed to continue the work which began with IGCP 259. From 1997 up to now, new progress has been made especially in China and FOREGS countries under the aegis of this working group, including the study of suitable sampling media, development of a multi-element analytical system, new proficiency test for selection of competent laboratories and role of wide-spaced mapping in mineral exploration. One of the major problems awaiting solution has been the inability of many laboratories to meet the IGCP recommendations to generate high quality geochemical maps. 公路泥石流是指发育于公路沿线并对公路桥涵、路基路面及相应防护结构具有冲击毁损和淤埋破坏的病害类型。丰富的物源、具有焚风效应的气象条件以及泥石流沟轴线与区域新构造应力场主压应力方向一致等是形成大型泥石流的宏观背景。将泥石流概化为固、液两相流体,运用两相流理论、泥沙运动力学、Bingham流变方程和Bagnold颗粒相互作用试验结果等,初步建立了泥石流固-液分相流速计算方法、基于泥石流在防治结构表面及泥石流沟岸产生的冲击形迹建立的反求泥石流冲击力计算方法以及泥石流磨蚀力计算方法。开发了速流结构、泥石流隧道及翼型墩汇流结构等10余种防治技术,集成了拦-汇-排等多种综合治理模式。据此撰写了《公路泥石流防治工程设计、施工指南》。实施了60余个防治工程。效果显著。研究成果初步构建了公路泥石流理论及技术体系。 相似文献

The first impoundment of the Three Gorges Dam reservoir in China started from a water surface elevation of 95 m on June 1,
2003 and reached 135 m on June 15, 2003. Shortly after the water level reached 135 m, many slopes began to deform and some
landslides occurred. The Qianjiangping landslide is the largest one; it occurred on the early morning of July 14, 2003 and
caused great loss of lives and property. Field investigation revealed that, although failure occurred after the reservoir
reached 135 m, the stability of the slope was already reduced by preexisting sheared bedding planes. To study the mechanism
of the rapid motion of this reactivated landslide, two soil samples were taken from a yellow clay layer and a black silt layer
in the sliding zone, respectively, and a series of ring shear tests were conducted on the samples. One series of ring shear
tests simulates the creep deformation behavior, while the other series simulates different shear rates. Conclusions drawn
from analysis of the ring shear tests indicate that the mechanism of the rapid motion of the reactivated landslide was caused
by the rate effect of the black silt layer during the motion phase after the creep failure. The yellow clay layer did not
