Hydrogeochemical evaluation of groundwater in the lower Offin basin,Ghana   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Alumino-silicate mineral dissolution, cation exchange, reductive dissolution of hematite and goethite, oxidation of pyrite and arsenopyrite are processes that influence groundwater quality in the Offin Basin. The main aim of this study was to characterise groundwater and delineate relevant water–rock interactions that control the evolution of water quality in Offin Basin, a major gold mining area in Ghana. Boreholes, dug wells, springs and mine drainage samples were analysed for major ions, minor and trace elements. Major ion study results show that the groundwater is, principally, Ca–Mg–HCO3 or Na–Mg–Ca–HCO3 in character, mildly acidic and low in conductivity. Groundwater acidification is principally due to natural biogeochemical processes. Though acidic, the groundwater has positive acid neutralising potential provided by the dissolution of alumino-silicates and mafic rocks. Trace elements’ loading (except arsenic and iron) of groundwater is generally low. Reductive dissolution of iron minerals in the presence of organic matter is responsible for high-iron concentration in areas underlain by granitoids. Elsewhere pyrite and arsenopyrite oxidation is the plausible process for iron and arsenic mobilisation. Approximately 19 and 46% of the boreholes have arsenic and iron concentrations exceeding the WHO’s (Guidelines for drinking water quality. Final task group meeting. Ta(V)与钼酸盐在pH3.7形成钽钼酸,并在0.29mol/L的H_2SO_4介质中,与丁基罗丹明B(BRHB)形成离子缔合物,其组成比为Ta:Mo:BRHB=1:6:3。有聚乙烯醇(PVA)存在时,该缔合物能稳定存在于水溶液中。缔合物的最大吸收在588nm,ε_(588)=3.62×10~5L·mol~(-1)·cm~(-1),Ta在0—5μg/25ml范围符合比尔定律。方法应用于硅酸盐岩石中痕量Ta的测定,结果满意。  相似文献

已发现的金矿物有60余种。本文将其分为七类。在附表中列有20种较常见的金矿物及其鉴定特征。金在自然界中有三种赋存状态:可见独立矿物形式;呈次显微状于载体矿物中;或以原子状态混入其他矿物。金的工业矿物以第一种赋存状态为主,它们常与黄铁矿、毒砂、黄铜矿、磁黄铁矿、闪锌矿、方铅矿、黝铜矿和石英等连生,或以其作为载体矿物。呈次显微状的金,是以粒径小于0.2um的球粒形质点,呈机械混入物状态于黄铁矿等硫化物中。  相似文献

海底管线周围的不平衡输沙影响着海底管线的局部冲刷,进而影响海底管线的安全运营。基于波浪港池实验,考虑规则波的作用,采用中值粒径为0.219 mm的原型沙铺设与波浪传播方向成45°夹角的斜坡,斜坡坡度为1∶15,研究管线局部冲刷坑床沙组成变化情况。实验结果表明:与冲刷深度随时间的发展类似,冲刷宽度随时间的发展也分为初级阶段和次级阶段;管线周围床沙粗化程度最高的地方并不在管线的正下方,而在管线的后下方;周期增加,冲刷坑床沙粗化程度增大;与原始床沙相比,周期较小时,冲刷坑下方床沙细化,周期较大时则粗化,而波高对床沙扰动的影响具有不稳定性。  相似文献

Precipitation has been of utmost importance in shaping the evolution of landscapes and human settlements in the Mediterranean. However, information on seasonal precipitation patterns through the Holocene is scarce. This study attempts to quantify the evolution of seasonal precipitation in the East Iberian Peninsula (5000 BC to AD 600) based on the carbon isotope composition (δ13C) of archaeobotanical remains. Data on Holm oak, Aleppo pine and small‐grain cereals were combined, and precipitation was inferred from models relating present‐day records to the δ13C of modern samples. Subsequently, charred grains were used as a proxy for ancient moisture during April–May, whereas oak and pine charcoals provided complementary rainfall estimates for September–December and January–August, respectively. The results reveal aridity changes throughout the Holocene in the western Mediterranean. Past spring–summer precipitation was consistently higher than at present. In contrast, autumn and early winter precipitation showed stronger fluctuations, particularly during the first millennium BC, and often exhibited values below those of the present. The high contribution of autumn precipitation to the annual water budget, typical of the present Mediterranean climate, was definitively established at the beginning of the current era. This study shows how a combination of species holding complementary environmental signals can contribute to a wider knowledge of local precipitation dynamics. 钠长阳起片岩用于硅酸盐水泥生产具有液相出现早、物料反应能力强、可降低烧成温度等优点,可全部或绝大部分取代粘土、助熔剂、矿化剂以及铁矿石等配料,从而收到节能降耗、稳定和提高水泥质量、保护生态环境、节约矿产资源等方面的效果。由于其组成矿物与水泥石成分相近,且具有径长比较小等特点,当用做非活性混合材时,可起到结晶中心和“加筋”等协同增强作用,掺入量可达15~30%;生产的钠长阳起片岩混合水泥具有早强性能。  相似文献

Bulk chemistry and mineralogy of the peculiar rock of Ricetto (Carseolani Mts., Central Apennines, Italy) was studied to resolve its controversial origin: igneous dyke or anthropic product. This hybrid rock consists of a colorless, felsic component made up of glass plus quartz, and a brown, femic component made up of fans and spherulites of diopside, calcic plagioclase, wollastonite, and melilite. Textural relationships indicate very rapid cooling and immiscibility phenomena. The bulk chemistry of the rock is the same as that of the surrounding siliciclastic sandstone. The 14C analysis of a coal fragment from bottom of the body yields the conventional age of 227(±50) years. The Ricetto occurrence is an example of pyrometamorphism of a siliceous limestone induced by a charcoal pit burning. The small size of the heat source at Ricetto caused an intense but short-lived melting of the country rock. Prograde metamorphism caused a temperature increase up to 1,000–1,100 °C when melilite crystallization conditions were reached at appreciable P(CO2) and high f(O2). Melting occurred in a close system represented by the simplified equation: 3Cal+16.5Qtz+Ms+BtMel+Melt+2H2O+3CO2+0.5O2. Diopside+calcic plagioclase+wollastonite formed by melilite breakdown during rapid cooling, through the reaction: 6Mel+6Qtz+0.5O23Di+2An+7Wo. Liquid immiscibility caused the separation between the felsic melt component and the femic melilite-bearing component. Immiscibility was characterized by different fractionation of alumina and alkalies between these two phases. Differences in bulk, glass, and mineral chemistry between the Ricetto and other melilite-bearing pyrometamorphic rocks can be attributed mainly to different protoliths.An erratum to this article can be found at  相似文献

We have devised a new, simple and easy technique to measure the viscosity of hydrous silicate melts by combining an autoclave for melt hydration and the fiber elongation method for viscosity measurement. Using this, we measured the viscosity of hydrous rhyolitic melts whose water content ranges from 0.02 to 0.58 wt%. We observed a drastic decrease in viscosity against water content: 0.1 wt% water decreases the viscosity about an order of magnitude. Even when the water content is only 0.02 wt%, the viscosity decreased about half an order of magnitude. These results clearly demonstrate that the effect of water on viscosity should not be ignored even when it occurs as a trace constituent. We compared our experimental data with those derived from a non-Arrhenian viscosity model, which is considered to be applicable to calc-alkaline samples. This model succeeded in expressing the viscosity variation against water content but was unable to accurately predict the measured viscosity of liquids.Editorial responsibility: D. Dingwell  相似文献

An overview is given of the identified surviving presolar grains in primitive meteorites. Two of these phases are discussed in more detail: (a) Presolar silicon carbide, with special emphasis on heavy element isotopic compositions which trace the slow neutron capture process (s-process) of nucleosynthesis. It is argued that there are problems either with the grain or neutron capture cross section data or with current basic understanding of heavy element nucleosynthesis, (b) Presolar diamonds, where new developments are discussed concerning the origin of the (supernova) Xenon-HL component thought to be contained within them; in addition, arguments are presented in favor of diverse carrier phases for the various Xe components observed in diamond separates.  相似文献
