The basic properties of acoustic wave propagation in stellar interiors can be analysed from the autocorrelation function (ACF) of intensity (or velocity) observations without measuring the resonant p-mode frequencies. We show how the strength of acoustic wave refraction in the stellar core, or forward acoustic amplitude, can be measured from a modulation in the ACF. This is the basic physical quantity which governs the so-called 'small frequency separations', and its measurement from the ACF can be used for determining the small frequency separations when the data is of insufficient quality for a reliable identification of the stellar p-mode frequencies. 相似文献

The eclipsing binary system V356 Sgr is of considerable interest, since it is probably at the very end of its mass transfer
phase, i.e. between β Lyrae and Algol. Hence, the binary provides an opportunity to directly examine the exposed core of a
star for signatures of nuclear burning, and to test stellar evolution models. The system is composed of an early B star accreting
matter from a Roche-lobe filling A2 II star. Recently, with progress in the UV spectral region, significant revision of previous
values for absolute parameters has been made. Therefore, we find it justified and important to present a new photometric solution.
Our model is compared to an early disk model, and is discussed in the framework of mass transfer processes in this binary

The collisionless interaction of an expanding plasma cloud with a magnetized background plasma is examined in the framework of a 3D kinetic-hydrodynamic model. The slowing down of a hydrogen cloud is studied for high Alfven-Mach numbers and magneto-laminar interaction parameters. A particle-in-cell method is used to study the dynamics of the magnetic field, plasma cloud, background plasma, and collisionless shock wave generated by the intense particle flux. A numerical simulation is consistent with the nonstationary interactions between the plasma shells formed during nova and supernova explosions and the interstellar plasma medium. 相似文献
