Seasonal variation of foliar δ13C values as well as proline, silicon, MDA and relative water content in Sabina przewalskii Kom. and S. chinensis (Lin.) Ant. were measured. The results show that foliar δ13C values were significantly different at different seasons: lower in winter but higher in summer. δ13C values were positively correlated with air temperature and soil temperature. This demonstrates that foliar δ13C of Sabina is a successful empirical indictor of temperature. Furthermore, foliar δ13C values were positively related to proline and silicon content, and negatively related to relative water content and MDA content. Compared with S. chinensis, S. przewalskii has higher δ13C values, proline and silicon content as well as lower MDA and relative water content. All these results provided strong evidence that it is feasible for δ13C to be regarded as another index to evaluate freezing tolerance of Sabina.  相似文献

Soils of arid regions of Central Asia contain salts of different types that may differentially affect seed germination and plant development. We studied effect of NaCl, Na2SO4, 2NaCl + KCl + CaCl2 and 2Na2SO4+K2SO4+MgSO4 on germination of Kochia prostrata and Kochia scoparia seeds under a range of concentrations from 0.5 to 5% and at two constant temperature regimes +22 °C and +6 °C. The observed salt tolerance limit of germination at constant temperature +22 °C for both species was 5-6%, while at low temperature (+6 °C) this limit was 2%. The salt tolerance of young plants (before flowering) was 3% for NaCl. Low concentrations of sulfuric and mixed salts had a stimulating effect on seed germination in K. prostrata. Despite similarity of salt-tolerance limits the studied species showed a significant difference in seed recovery ability, i.e. the ability of ungerminated, salt-soaked seeds to germinate after transfer to fresh water. K. scoparia demonstrated a full germination recovery after seed transfer to distilled water while K. prostrata showed only a partial recovery.  相似文献

As a consequence of changing immigration policy over the past 50 years, contemporary Australia has a culturally diverse population. Focusing on Brisbane, one of Australia's smaller immigrant-receiving cities but where some 19 per cent of the population is born overseas, this study examines attitudes to and perceptions of culturally different ethnic (non-Anglo) immigrant groups. Emphasis is placed on patterns of tolerance and intolerance for the city as a whole, both in areas of contact and in areas of minimal contact. Findings show that variations in attitudes vary somewhat from commonly accepted socio-economic and age-based correlations (the lower the status or the older people are the less tolerant), depending on the particular mix of ethnic birthplace groups present. They also show levels of intolerance in areas of minimal contact, which is implicitly attributed to mass media influences. In light of these findings, a concluding plea is made for anti-intolerance strategies to be developed for cities that pay regard to the geography of attitude-forming contexts.  相似文献

The present study was conducted to investigate the tolerance of Spartina densiflora to phenanthrene, and to test its ability in phenanthrene dissipation. A glasshouse experiment was designed to investigate the effect of phenanthrene from 0 to 1000 mg kg−1 on growth and photosynthetic apparatus of S. densiflora by measuring chlorophyll fluorescence parameters, gas exchange and photosynthetic pigments. We also performed chemical analysis of plant samples, and determined the concentration of phenanthrene remaining in soil. S. densiflora survived to concentrations as high as 1000 mg kg−1 phenanthrene in soil; in fact, there was no significant difference in RGR among the treatments after 30 days. Otherwise, phenanthrene affected photosynthetic apparatus at 100 and 1000 mg kg−1; thus, the lower ΦPSII could be explained by the declined photosynthetic pigment concentrations. Soil extraction indicated a more marked rate of phenanthrene disappearance in the soil in the presence of S. densiflora.  相似文献

Eel facultative catadromy is not clearly understood. Initial work suggested a possible control by energy content and energy expense in young stages. The present work aimed to better understand the mechanisms involved, by studying the influence of the salinity rearing environment in the loss of mass and therefore on fish energy and migration. Glass eels (Anguilla anguilla L.) caught on the Atlantic coast were identified according to their rheotactic response to the dusk signal, and thus to their propensity to migrate which can be low (sedentary, M fish) or high (flow-wise catches in early night, M+ fish). M+ and M fish were individually placed at different salinities (0, 10 or 30) for 28 days in small containers equipped with shelters. Individual wet mass and pigmentary stage were determined on Day 1 and Day 28. In addition, dry mass and percent dry mass were measured on a sub-sample of 30 fish randomly chosen on Day 1, and on all fish on Day 28. There was no difference in the loss of mass linked to their adaptation to salinity between M and M+ fish, and so the results do not support the link between migratory behaviour and salinity tolérance (or to a larger extent osmoregulation). However, M fish lost more wet mass than M+ fish irrespective of the salinity, maybe because of a higher standard metabolism, which suggests that glass eels prone to loose more energy might choose to settle at sea or in estuary. In addition, the highest percent dry mass after 28 days in seawater associated to the highest loss of mass in 28 days in seawater does not support a higher energy cost of osmoregulation at sea.  相似文献

研究不同化学修饰的水溶性低分子量壳聚糖对糖尿病大鼠血糖的调节作用,以探讨其结构与功能的关系。本研究对低分子量壳聚糖、低分子量羧甲基壳聚糖和低分子量羧甲基甲壳素进行化学表征和分子量测定。通过腹腔注射链脲佐菌素建立大鼠糖尿病模型,并随机分为糖尿病治疗组和模型组。治疗组大鼠每日按180 mg/kg体质量分别灌胃低分子量壳聚糖、低分子量羧甲基壳聚糖、低分子量羧甲基甲壳素,模型组按体质量灌胃相同体积的蒸馏水,连续灌胃45 d,于末次灌胃后测定大鼠空腹血糖、糖耐量、肝肌糖原含量,大鼠胰腺做病理组织切片观察。结果表明,不同化学修饰的水溶性低分子量壳聚糖的分子量在10 000~25 000 Da间,低分子量壳聚糖乙酰基取代度为52.71%,低分子量羧甲基壳聚糖的乙酰基取代度为7.50%、羧基取代度为98.16%,低分子量羧甲基甲壳素的乙酰基取代度为89.96%、羧基取代度为98.65%;三者均可显著降低糖尿病大鼠空腹血糖水平,改善糖耐量,提高肝肌糖原含量。其中,低分子量羧甲基甲壳素组效果最好,低分子量壳聚糖效果次之,推测水溶性低分子量壳聚糖的乙酰基可能在糖尿病大鼠血糖调节中发挥重要作用。  相似文献

Aquatic invertebrates are intrinsically capable of rapid and sensitive response to changes in their lacustrine habitat. Fossil invertebrate assemblages preserved in the sediments of a climate-sensitive lake can thus produce high-resolution proxy records of past climate. In shallow lakes, however, a potential conflict exists between the sensitivity of biota to frequent habitat change in their fluctuating environment and the increased probability of disturbance of selected proxy records by bioturbation and physical mixing of sediments. I investigated this problem with tropical-African aquatic invertebrate faunas in a paleolimnological sensitivity study that incorporates both the response of biota to short-term habitat change and the taphonomic integrity of fossil assemblages in a small, shallow, and hydrologically closed lacustrine basin. Analysis of chironomid, cladoceran, and ostracode remains in a210Pb-dated short core from Lake Oloidien (Kenya) indicates that habitat changes accompanying the late 19th- and 20th-century fluctuations in lake level (Z max range: 3 to 18 m) and salinity (conductivity range:c. 400 toc. 2000–4000 µS cm–1) were sufficient to drastically alter the composition of local benthic and planktonic invertebrate faunas. This response remained relatively unaffected by taphonomic phenomena during its incorporation into the sediment record. Results indicate that tropical-African aquatic invertebrate faunas in suitable climate-sensitive lakes are a valuable tool to resolve paleoclimatic fluctuations on a timescale of decades.This paper was presented at the VI Palaeolimnology Symposium, held at Canberra in April 1993. 喀斯特地区下垫面的特殊复杂性使得地表发生显著坡面径流需要达到更大的降水累积阈值,碳酸盐岩岩石成土速率的缓慢和空间异质性导致喀斯特地区的土壤存量被严重高估和均一化等,因此,传统经典的土壤侵蚀模型在喀斯特地区难以适用。本文依据喀斯特关键带岩性的差异,确定其有效降水侵蚀阈值,并对降雨侵蚀力进行重新测算;根据碳酸盐岩化学成分的差异,计算其成土速率并作为土壤允许流失量;通过地貌—水文分析法提取喀斯特洼地空间分布信息,对喀斯特关键带土壤侵蚀算法进行多次改进和创新。结果显示:① 传统算法忽视了喀斯特关键带下垫面的特殊性,致使其平均降雨侵蚀力被高估47.35%,且喀斯特区域的平均降雨侵蚀力仅相当于非喀斯特区域的59.91%;② 传统算法可能将一些无土或少土可流区计算为土壤的高侵蚀量区,而连续性碳酸盐岩、碳酸盐岩夹碎屑岩、碳酸盐岩与碎屑岩互层的土壤允许流失量仅分别为0.21 t ha-1 yr-1、1.2 t ha-1 yr-1、2.89 t ha-1 yr-1;③ 传统算法通常将有坡度和耕作的洼地视为土壤侵蚀的高发区,但其实际应是地表侵蚀的沉积区,喀斯特洼地在空间上的连续性与碳酸盐岩的分布区基本重合;④ 传统算法高估土壤侵蚀面积27.79%,土壤侵蚀量47.72%。总之,传统经典模型会大大高估喀斯特地区的土壤侵蚀量,因此,应该建立一种精确适用的模型。另外,由于喀斯特地区的成土速率慢而土层薄、总量少,土壤允许流失量远低于非喀斯特区域侵蚀标准,应制定适用于喀斯特地区的土壤侵蚀分类分级标准和风险评价方法。  相似文献
