A structural interpretation of the Ziarat block in the Balochistan region (a part of the Suleiman Fold and Thrust Belt) has been carried out using seismic and seismological data. Seismic data consists of nine 2.5D pre‐stack migrated seismic lines, whereas the seismological data covers the Fault Plane Solution and source parameters. Structural interpretation describes two broad fault sets of fore and back thrusts in the study area that have resulted in the development of pop‐up structures, accountable for the structural traps and seismicity pattern in terms of seismic hazard. Seismic interpretation includes time and depth contour maps of the Dungan Formation and Ranikot group, while seismological interpretation includes Fault Plane Solution, that is correlated with a geological and structural map of the area for the interpretation of the nature of the subsurface faults. Principal stresses are also estimated for the Ranikot group and Dungan Formation. In order to calculate anisotropic elastic properties, the parameters of the rock strength of the formations are first determined from seismic data, along with the dominant stresses (vertical, minimum horizontal, and maximum horizontal). The differential ratio of the maximum and minimum horizontal stresses is obtained to indicate optimal zones for hydraulic fracturing, and to assess the potential for geothermal energy reservoir prospect generation. The stress maps indicate high values towards the deeper part of the horizon, and low towards the shallower part, attributed to the lithological and structural variation in the area. Outcomes of structural interpretation indicate a good correlation of structure and tectonics from both seismological and seismic methods.  相似文献

In order to understand the nature of the urban climate, predict the effects of urbanization, or attempt to ameliorate some of the negative hydroclimatic effects of urbanization, it is necessary to have a good understanding of the role and significance of the urban surface. This paper presents a methodology which uses GIS to represent the characteristics and morphology of the urban surface, which can be used to describe a site objectively, model fluxes, or ensure spatial consistency between measured and modelled data, all of which can vary through time. The methodology is illustrated with respect to Chicago, Illinois. Surface data collected at three spatial scales were used to construct a georeferenced database which was linked to an objective, dynamic accessing system. Spatial variability of surface cover, derived hydroclimatic attributes, and modelled fluxes associated with changes in the urban environment are used to illustrate potential applications of the approach.  相似文献

三次样条函数在公路平面线形设计中有广泛的应用,但由于没有统一的函数表达式且计算量大,因而在应用上不便。埃尔米特插值函数的特点决定其能很好地逼近被插值函数,且计算过程简便。公路平面线形实例设计表明,三次埃尔米特插值函数用于公路平面线形设计中,能够满足路线设计规范(JTJ011-94)的要求,其设计结果与三次样条函数设计结果接近。本研究建立了公路平面线形设计的埃尔米特插值函数方法,可供公路平面线形设计工作参考。  相似文献

A probabilistic approach to the design of embedded sheet pile walls is developed in this paper. The approach is based on Monte Carlo simulation (MCS), and it is used to investigate the performance of the partial factors and different design approaches in Eurocode 7 in achieving the target degrees of reliability. The approach is illustrated through an embedded sheet pile wall design example that has been used in literature for the evaluation of Eurocode 7. The approach deals rationally with the correlated load and resistance, and it bypasses a difficult but frequently asked question in Eurocode 7 (i.e. should the passive earth pressure be considered as a load (i.e. action) or a resistance?). The probabilistic design approach (DA) is also used to explore the effects of the soil unit weight variability and uncertainties in over-digging depth and wall friction. The effects of uncertainties in over-digging depth and wall friction are found to be significant. It is also found that, although the soil unit weight variability is generally minor, its effect on the design of embedded sheet pile walls is significant and should be properly accounted for in the design. The MCS-based probabilistic DA proposed in this study provides a straightforward way for proper consideration of such variability with relative ease.  相似文献

This research investigates the seismic design method and the cyclic inelastic behavior of the bottom column, also called the vertical boundary element (VBE), in steel plate shear walls (SPSWs). This study consists of two parts. This Part 1 paper discusses the anticipated pushover responses for properly designed SPSWs and the possible inelastic responses of the bottom VBE at various levels of inter‐story drift. Considering both the tension field action of the infill panel and the sway action of the boundary frame, this study develops a simplified method to compute the flexural and shear demands in the bottom VBE. Based on the superposition method, this approach considers various plastic hinge forming locations at different levels of inter‐story drift. One of the key performance‐based design objectives is to ensure that the top ends of the bottom VBEs remain elastic when the SPSWs are subjected to the maximum considered earthquake. This paper presents the comprehensive design procedures for the bottom VBE. Furthermore, this study conducted cyclic performance evaluation tests of three full‐scale two‐story SPSWs at the Taiwan National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering in 2011 to validate the effectiveness of the proposed design methods. 随着我国低空空域的逐步开放,直升机的应用会越来越广泛。面向直升机飞行使用的专题图需求会越来越迫切。本文在深入研究直升机的飞行特点基础之上,结合分层设色的原理和方法,研究和设计了面向直升机飞行使用的专题图分层设色方案。实践表明该方案能够突出直升机飞行时对地形、地貌关注的特点,对飞行员认知地形具有一定的帮助,具有一定的实用价值。  相似文献
