三种织纹螺性畸变的发展过程与雄性结构效应

从2000年3月到2002年10月对中国沿海海产腹足类性畸变的大范围调查过程中．在广东省汕头港、湛江港和厦门港分别采集到西格织纹螺(Nassarius siquijorensis)、胆形织纹螺(Nassarius thersites)和节织纹螺(Nassarius hepaticus)等3个种，解剖观察发现3种织纹螺的雌性个体都发生了性畸变现象。根据织纹螺性畸变的发展过程，对目前的性畸变发展划分体系作了新的修改和补充。通过对比性畸变个体与正常雄性个体的特征．探讨了雄性个体结构特征在性畸变过程中的效应。     

利用波部东风螺(Babylonia formosae habei)性畸变现象监测海洋有机锡污染

调查了三种东风螺的性畸变现象和关联海域的有机锡污染现状，确定分布广泛、性畸变特征明显和畸变变化幅度较大的波部东风螺（Babylonia formosae habei）为指示种，探讨了以其性畸变现象监测我国海洋有机锡污染的可能性。     

Seasonal variation in imposex intensity of Thais clavigera

Imposex, specifically caused by TBT pollution, refers to the superimposition of male sexual characteristics in gastropod females. Seasonal variation of imposex intensity inThais clavigera from both slightly and severely contaminated sites in Hong Kong waters was studied from 1988 to 1999. The male penis length showed significant difference between both sites and seasons. It was shortest during late autumn and early winter (October to December) and longest during spring and early summer (February to June). Female penis length also showed significant difference between sites. It did not change seasonally, however. The RPS (Relative Penis Size) index was the highest during autumn and early winter, and the lowest during spring and early summer. The VDS (Vas Deferens Sequence) index remained stable throughout the sampling period. This study showed that VDS index is a better indicator when we compare relative intensity of imposex. The comparison can only be meaningful provided the samples from different locations are taken during the same season. Supported by the NSFC (40006007).     

Imposex in Thais gradata and Chicoreus capucinus (Mollusca, Neogastropoda, Muricidae) from the Straits of Johor: A Case Study using Penis Length, Area and Weight as Measures of Imposex Severity

Imposex, or the presence of a pseudopenis in female snails, is quantified by comparing the length of the female pseudopenis with the male penis. However, many muricid gastropods in the Malayan archipelago possess penes that are flagellate and coiled, making linear measurement difficult under the microscope. In addition, it is unclear if penis length is dependent on shell size. Accurate assessment of penis size is a necessary step towards determining the severity of imposex (and implicitly, the amount of organotins from antifouling paints that is associated with this phenomenon). Two mangrove muricid gastropod species, Thais gradata and Chicoreus capucinus, were collected from six sites along the Johor Straits. Penis/pseudopenis length and area measurements based on digitalized camera lucida drawings were generally well correlated with penis/pseudopenis dry weight, although penis area appeared to be a marginally better variable than penis length for T. gradata. Penis dry weight was also well correlated with shell height in male T. gradata, while no significant correlation was detected for female T. gradata, suggesting pseudopenis size alone may be a better measure of imposex than the relative penis size index (RPSI) for this species. There was no obvious relationship between penis size and shell height for either sex in C. capucinus.
