Application of linear and nonlinear techniques in river flow forecasting in the Kilombero River basin,Tanzania / Application de techniques linéaires et non-linéaires à la prévision des débits dans le bassin de la Rivière Kilombero,en Tanzanie

Abstract

Modelling of the rainfall–runoff transformation process and routing of river flows in the Kilombero River basin and its five sub-catchments within the Rufiji River basin in Tanzania was undertaken using three system (black-box) models—a simple linear model, a linear perturbation model and a linear varying gain factor model—in their linear transfer function forms. A lumped conceptual model—the soil moisture accounting and routing model—was also applied to the sub-catchments and the basin. The HEC-HMS model, which is a distributed model, was applied only to the entire Kilombero River basin. River discharge, rainfall and potential evaporation data were used as inputs to the appropriate models and it was observed that sometimes the system models performed better than complex hydrological models, especially in large catchments, illustrating the usefulness of using simple black-box models in datascarce situations.     

A new Osmylidae (Insecta,Neuroptera) from the Lower Cretaceous Crato Formation in Brazil

Cratosmylus magnificus gen. et sp. nov., type genus and species of the new osmylid subfamily Cratosmylinae, is described from the Lower Cretaceous of the Crato Formation, Brazil. The relationships of this taxon remain uncertain within the Osmylidae, mainly due to the lack of phylogeny of the whole family. Nevertheless, it shares with the Mesozoic subfamily Saucrosmylinae the Rs curved and bent anteriorly distally, even in a more pronounced state, i.e. Rs touching R1 in its distal part.     

Three new species of Batrachospermum Roth (Batrachosper-maceae,Rhodophyta) in China

1 INTRODUCTION The first published records of genus Batra-chospermum Roth in China are from Jao (1941), when eleven taxa were reported. Since then, Shi, Hu and Kumano (1993), Shi (1994a, 1994b), Hua and Shi (1996), Xie et al. (1999, 2003), Xie and Shi (2003) have described in more detail the species from China. 菲律宾蛤仔苗种土池中间培育及越冬生产实验

利用2．6hm^2和3．13hm^2 2个养虾池,经过池底清淤、底质改良、敌害清除、培养用水处理、繁殖基础饵料生物等工作后,分别移入在室内培育的菲律宾蛤仔（Ruditapes philippinarum（Adams et Reeve））壳顶后期幼虫和双水管稚贝各80亿粒和9．7亿粒,经土池中间培育、越冬后,生产出2000-3000粒／500g幼贝7．9亿粒。自移入幼虫和稚贝到幼苗出池,成活率分别为4．5％和44．3％,达到了较高水平的中间培育、越冬成活率。     

Determination of Trace Silver in Polymetallic Ore Samples by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry after Solid‐Phase Extraction Using a Microcolumn Comprising Eggshell Membrane

A rapid and inexpensive method was developed for the determination of trace silver in polymetallic ore samples by use of eggshell membrane (ESM), a natural biomaterial, as the solid‐phase extraction (SPE) adsorbent coupled with flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). The ESM was used for the separation/pre‐concentration of silver, and the parameters affecting sensitivity, such as pH, sample flow rate, eluent volume and eluent flow rate, were carefully investigated. ESM was found to be an effective solid phase extractant for the adsorption of trace silver over a wide range of acidity from 0.02 to 0.50 mol l^?1 HNO₃. The sample solution in 0.4 mol l^?1 HNO₃ was pumped through an ESM microcolumn at the rate of 1.0 ml min^?1. Silver was absorbed, and then eluted with a solution of 1.0% m/v thiourea–0.5% v/v HCl. Under these optimal conditions, ESM exhibited a good enrichment efficiency for silver with a dynamic adsorption capacity of 1.7 mg g^?1. The proposed method was applied to the FAAS determination of trace silver in polymetallic ores and geological reference materials, GSO‐2, 3 and 5, and GSD‐11, GSD‐12, and the determined values were in good agreement with certified values.     

鳞毛蕨天山云杉林林冠空隙特征

林冠干扰作为鳞毛蕨(Dryopteris filix-mas (L.) Schott)天山云杉(Picea schrenkiana Fisch. etMey.)林动态自维持的重要因素,在整个林分的动态发展过程中发挥着重要作用。通过对西天山国家级自然保护区内1 hm2典型的鳞毛蕨天山云杉纯林中林冠空隙特征及其形成木和边界木结构的研究,结果表明:在西天山国家级自然保护区实验区46林班内的1 hm2临时标准地中,共调查到17个林冠空隙,林冠空隙干扰返回间隔期为763年。扩展空隙面积在20~280 m2之间变化,冠空隙面积在0~180 m2之间变动。大多数林冠空隙形状变异较大,不同程度地偏离圆形,且均在20~100年之间形成,拥有多株形成木,边界木多由近熟木和成熟木组成。     

富阳市万市镇十字街岩溶塌陷路基稳定性评价与治理设计探讨

浙江富阳市万市镇十字街位于岩溶塌陷区内,周围环境要求高。经过地质调查、地基稳定性分析和治理方案比选,采用高压喷射注浆法对岩溶塌陷路基进行治理,取得了良好效果。
