We analyze the possibility of observational identification of white dwarfs in the state of an ejector. Among the distinctive features of this class of objects are a high rate of rotational energy loss comparable to or higher than the observed luminosity of the object and nonthermal gamma-ray and/or radio spectra. The manifestations of the white dwarf in the close binary system AE Aquarii closely match these criteria. We show that most of the peculiar manifestations of this object in the hard spectral range and the observed pattern of mass transfer in the system can be explained in terms of a model in which the state of the white dwarf is classified as an ejector.  相似文献

We present our photometric observations of the T Tauri star H 187. They confirm our conclusion that a new extended eclipse has begun in this young object. By the end of 2005, H 187 reached its minimum light following which its brightness began to slowly increase. Comparison with the previous ~3.5-yr-long eclipse observed by Cohen et al. shows that the new eclipse follows the previous eclipse fairly closely and, hence, it was caused by a second passage of the same extended dust or gas-dust cloud around the object. We have estimated the period between these events to be 4.7 yr. The object reddened during the eclipse, suggesting that the extinction was produced by small grains ~0.1μm in size. Possible mechanisms of such unusual eclipses are discussed. We draw an analogy between these eclipses and the cycles of photometric activity observed in UX Ori stars. Light curves similar to those observed for H 187 are shown to be obtained in the model of a young binary system with a low-mass companion accreting matter from the remnants of a protostellar cloud at a rate of ~10?9 M yr?1.  相似文献

A simple method for the determination of the position of singularities in the complex time domain for dynamical systems which are described by ordinary differential equations is presented. The method is designed for integrable separable systems whose solutions are not expressible in closed form. A direct consequence of this method is that it ‘closes’ the phase space. For analytical, inventory, and a variety of other basic types of geological data the main functions of an information management system can adequately be accommodated by simple systems in which comprehensiveness is compromised in favor of practicality and ease of implementation. Albeit possessing some shortcomings, such a strategy is likely to prove profitable particularly to geologists in developing nations who are confronted with the task of self-developing much needed geological data systems in the face of limited electronic data processing resources. Based on the experience of the Geological Survey of Israel, several considerations and practical guidelines for the design and implementation of such systems can be outlined. Data bases should be limited in their scope to specific subjects or projects, be designed to serve existing and only the more realistic foreseeable needs, and include provisions for merger and intelligent communication with related files. Such data bases typically contain logically simple-structured information and are small in size. Revision, deletion, and update transactions are infrequent; the search criteria for retrieval are for the most part predictable and a fast response time is not essential. These attributes prescribe a preference for simple fixed- or semi-free-format sequential files which, in turn, simplify appreciably the programming of the supporting software. Input forms should be meticulously planned with due consideration given to aspects of software compatibility, user convenience and acceptance, and efficiency in data gathering. The use of standard forms should be integrated into the institution's routine to facilitate direct data entry by each contributor, thereby improving and economizing the data collection process, and to secure data capture at its acquisition level (field, laboratory). The user's more immediate retrieval needs are adequately satisfied by a master list, documenting the entire data base and a number of external inverted index directories cross-referencing the master list according to the attributes by which the file is most likely to be searched. Further development of output capabilities should be directed to provide for flexible retrieval by multikey query functions and base map posting. For data files storing raw chemical analyses of rocks and water samples, the incorporation of processing capabilities to compute interpretative geochemical parameters as an integral part of the system's output is particularly useful. Classification of nonfuel mineral reserves is the prime function of the Bureau of Mines Minerals Availability System (MAS). The MAS classifies reserves through geologic, engineering, and economic evaluation of presently identified resources. The classification of a reserve is accomplished by calculating the identified-resource availability in terms of present and prospective prices (costs). The availability of mineral supplies is definable as a function of natural physical phenomena, industry technology, costs, capital generation, time requirements, supply site infrastructure, mineral-land accessibility, environmental restraints, and political conditions. These and other criteria are being systematically evaluated and quantified in the MAS to arrive at verifiable estimates of present and future United States mineral reserve positions. The MAS is structured such that mine and deposit evaluations form the common denominator of supply, and costs represent the basic mechanism of supply analysis. A comprehensive, systematically structured minerals evaluation system is needed to objectively assess mineral supply impacts on the economy and society. The MAS is an element of that capability wherein a systematic unraveling of the mineral supply network is performed, with the results structured in electronic retrieval format for rapid listing, manipulation, and supply analysis. The key activity in accomplishing this end is the mineral deposit evaluation process that provides uniform, maintained information sets for aggregation into summary products. The MAS thereby enhances the basic data and response capability to support mineral specialists, mineral policy analysis, and the Government and industry decision process.This paper was presented at the International Geological Correlation Program (IGCP) Project 98 entitled Standards for Computer Applications in Resource Studies held at Loen, Norway, September 27–October 1, 1976.  相似文献

Families of asymmetric periodic orbits at the 2/1 resonance are computed for different mass ratios. The existence of the asymmetric families depends on the ratio of the planetary (or satellite) masses. As models we used the Io-Europa system of the satellites of Jupiter for the case m1>m2, the system HD82943 for the new masses, for the case m1=m2 and the same system HD82943 for the values of the masses m1<m2 given in previous work. In the case m1m2 there is a family of asymmetric orbits that bifurcates from a family of symmetric periodic orbits, but there exist also an asymmetric family that is independent of the symmetric families. In the case m1<m2 all the asymmetric families are independent from the symmetric families. In many cases the asymmetry, as measured by and by the mean anomaly M of the outer planet when the inner planet is at perihelion, is very large. The stability of these asymmetric families has been studied and it is found that there exist large regions in phase space where we have stable asymmetric librations. It is also shown that the asymmetry is a stabilizing factor. A shift from asymmetry to symmetry, other elements being the same, may destabilize the system.  相似文献

北祁连造山带中存在“南方型”和“北方型”构造基底岩块。“南方型”构造基底岩块和柴达木古陆相似 ,“北方型”构造基底岩块则和华北古陆相似。两种不同的构造基底岩块随着祁连洋的消失而相遇于北祁连造山带 (缝合带 )中。在祁连洋的俯冲过程中 ,形成了不同的成矿系统 ,与“北方型”构造基底岩块有关的成矿系统为加里东期活动大陆边缘成矿系统———白银、清水沟铜及多金属成矿组合 ;与“南方型”构造基底岩块有关的成矿系统为中、新元古代活动大陆边缘弧后裂解成矿系统———镜铁山—柳沟峡铁成矿组合 ,加里东期活动大陆边缘与俯冲作用有关的成矿系统———岩浆热液钨成矿组合及铅锌成矿组合。两种构造基底岩块的确认 ,可为北祁连缝合带的成矿系统的建立及找矿工作 ,提供新的思路 ,也为北祁连造山带性质的认定 ,提供成矿作用信息方面的限制。  相似文献

A family of symplectic integrators adapted for the integration of perturbed Hamiltonian systems of the form H=A+B was given in (McLachlan, 1995). We give here a constructive proof that for all integer p, such integrator exists, with only positive steps, and with a remainder of order O(p + 22), where is the stepsize of the integrator. Moreover, we compute the analytical expressions of the leading terms of the remainders at all orders. We show also that for a large class of systems, a corrector step can be performed such that the remainder becomes O(p +42). The performances of these integrators are compared for the simple pendulum and the planetary three-body problem of Sun–Jupiter–Saturn.  相似文献

“成矿动力系统在混沌边缘分形生长”理论是笔者将复杂性理论及非线性科学与矿床地质学相结合 ,对中国扬子古陆周缘六个矿集区的基本范式进行长期系统研究所取得的总结性成果。研究指出 ,成矿系统总体上是开放、远离平衡、时空延展的动力学系统。它们具有复杂性和自组织临界性的内禀基本属性 ,并且在混沌边缘分形生长。该理论以“地质作用与时 空结构是一切地质现象的本质与核心”的自然哲学理念作为根本立足点 ,建立起一种具有普适性的理论框架。然后进一步将其具体化为三大组成部分 ,即 ( 1)矿床的动力学属性 ,( 2 )矿床地质学场 ,( 3 )成矿系统的演化。体现了成矿作用 (其核心为成矿作用动力学 )、空间结构 (矿床地质学场 )和时间结构 (成矿系统的演化 )三位一体的整体耦合与交织 ,从而又使该理论具有包容性。在此基础上进而归纳出“成矿动力系统在混沌边缘分形生长”的 5项判定准则以及表征这些准则的 10项相应的动力学行为特征。最后笔者提出“矿质局部活化导致成矿的发生”的命题 ,拟定了“成矿的发生”的重要科学问题 ,以“元胞非线性网络”(CNN)作为复杂性的范式 ,定量揭示成矿的发生 ,并对矿床在混沌边缘作精确定位 ,对“成矿动力系统在混沌边缘”理论作进一步的延伸、深化与发展。该理论在矿?  相似文献
