Sediment budgets since the Late-glacial were constructed for five alluvial-fan–source-basin systems in Japan. The Late-glacial and Holocene sediment yield from each source area was estimated based on digital elevation data and the morphometric analyses of geomorphological maps, in which all hillslopes and fluvial surfaces were classified. Late-glacial and Holocene sediment storage in each fan was calculated from stratigraphical data. The results have revealed that the ratio of sediment storage in a fan to sediment supply is between ca. 0.3 and 0.8. Such high ratios of sediment storage over long time periods cast doubt on the previously proposed steady-state theory of alluvial fan development. The storage ratio decreases if fan sediments are removed by neighbouring large rivers. The maximum storage ratio of 0.8 reflects the ratio of washload to total load for Japanese mountain rivers. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

最近的研究发现了位于南海北部珠江口外白云凹陷陆坡深水区的珠江深水扇系统。珠江深水扇系统以珠江为沉积物源、以持续深沉降的白云凹陷为沉积古地理背景、以与全球海退型海平面相反的相对海侵型海平面变化的沉积层序构成了其发育演化的特殊性,并留下了控制沉积的周边重要事件的记录。23.8 Ma等界面沉积速率和岩石地球化学特征均有突变,反映出物源区的变化,可能折射出与青藏高原隆升、南海扩张有关的重要事件,使得古珠江骤然向西部高原拓展,甚至较今天的珠江流域范围还广阔;承载珠江深水扇系统的白云凹陷持续沉降形成了陆坡内盆地,导致21~10.5 Ma BP多个层序深水扇垂向叠置充填的特殊沉积建造;根据60多口井资料建立的相对海平面变化曲线,具有与全球海平面变化相一致的三级旋回和不一致的二级旋回。如果能对珠江深水扇系统实施综合大洋钻探获取更为全面和准确的资料,开展珠江深水扇沉积作用与白云凹陷沉降的深部机制、珠江流域演化、海侵型相对海平面变化的耦合性等研究,将有利于揭示南海扩张、边缘海沉积、海平面变化、中国西部高原隆升事件的相关联系和形成机制。  相似文献

东濮断陷湖盆下第三系沙二段的冲积扇沉积   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
东濮凹陷西洼南段沙二段是该区主要的勘探目的层之一。根据地震、测井及岩心分析等资料的综合分析表明,该区沙二段属干旱气候条件下的冲积扇沉积。由于沙二段沉积时期长垣断层的活动减缓,研究区与西斜坡构成一个共同的沉积区域,研究区内主要发育扇中前缘和扇端亚相等细粒沉积部分,扇根和扇中主体等粗粒部分主要堆积在西斜坡上。在地震剖面和测井曲线上可以看出,该区沙二段由3个沉积旋回构成,总体上呈现向上变细的粒序特征。这些旋回在研究区各井中可以进行对比,表明冲积扇的活动受构造和气候因素的影响。  相似文献

地磁场磁力线切割海水和电磁感应两种方式的共同作用影响着海水介质中变化地磁场的时空特征.虽然近些年的野外实践、数值模拟和理论研究都表明,海面和深海海底的变化磁场存在差异,但极少有实测数据揭示在海水介质不同深度位置地磁场的时空特征.本文主要介绍在南海西南次海盆4366 m深度处布放和回收了一个4000 m长深海地磁观测潜标的科学实验;重点分析垂直方向不同水深位置上地磁场观测记录中总强度的变化幅度及相位的时空特征.并通过建立地磁场太阳静日变化模型,将观测结果与南海周缘的三个地磁台站观测记录进行对比分析.研究结果表明,地磁场总强度在深海水体的不同深度存在着显著差别.在地磁扰动较小或平静期间,深海潜标处的日变形态与同纬度邻近台站的观测结果较为一致;而在地磁扰动期间,由于所处位置处地下电性介质的差异会对感应磁场产生不同的影响,观测到的总强度在幅度和相位变化中也出现相应的不同.本文的分析结果不仅为海水介质不同深度地磁场时空特征的研究提供了科学实验依据,也为海洋磁测中地磁日变观测站的布设提供建议.  相似文献

Abstract The outer parts of a number of small Late Jurassic sandy deep‐water fans in the northern North Sea are dominated by the stacked deposits of co‐genetic sandy and muddy gravity flows. Sharp‐based, structureless and dewatered sandstone beds are directly overlain by mudclast breccias that are often rich in terrestrial plant fragments and capped by thin laminated sandstones, pseudonodular siltstones and mudstones. The contacts between the clast‐rich breccias and the underlying sandstones are typically highly irregular with evidence for liquefaction and upward sand injection. The breccias contain fragments (up to metre scale) of exotic lithologies surrounded by a matrix that is extremely heterogeneous and strewn with multiphase and variably sheared sand injections and scattered coarse and very coarse sand grains (often coarser than in the immediately underlying sand bed). Markov chain analysis establishes that the breccias consistently overlie sandstones, and the character of the breccias and their external contacts rule out a post‐depositional origin via in situ liquefaction, intrastratal flowage or bed amalgamation and disruption. The breccias are interpreted as debrites that rode on a water‐rich sand bed just deposited by a co‐genetic concentrated gravity current. As such, they are referred to as ‘linked debrites’ to distinguish them from debrites emplaced in the absence of a precursor sand bed. The distinction is important, because these linked debris flows can achieve significant mobility through entrainment of both water and sediment from beneath, and they ride on a low‐friction carpet of liquefied sand. This explains the paradox presented by fan fringes in which there are common debrites, when conventional thinking might predict that deposits of low‐concentration gravity currents should be more important here. In fact, evidence for transport by low‐concentration turbidity currents is rare in these systems. Several possible mechanisms might explain the formation of linked flows, but the ultimate source of both sandy and clast‐rich flow components must be in shallower water on the basin margin (the debrites are not triggered from distal slopes). Flow partitioning may have occurred by upslope erosion and retardation of the mudclast‐charged portion of an erosional sandy density current, partial flow transformation of a precursor debris flow and/or hydraulic segregation and reconcentration of the flaky clasts and carbonaceous matter during transport. Linked debrites are not restricted to small sand‐rich fans, and similar mechanisms may be responsible for the long runout of debris flows in other systems. The recognition of a distinct class of linked debrites is of wider importance for facies prediction, reservoir heterogeneity and even carbon fluxes and sequestration on continental margins.  相似文献

When a sediment laden river reaches a flat basin area the coarse fraction of their sediment load is deposited in a cone shaped structure called an alluvial fan. In this article we used the State Space Soil Production and Assessment Model (SSSPAM) coupled landform–soilscape evolution model to simulate the development of alluvial fans in two- and three-dimensional landforms. In SSSPAM the physical processes of erosion and armouring, soil weathering and sediment deposition were modelled using state-space matrices, in both two and three dimensions. The results of the two-dimensional fan showed that the fan grew vertically and laterally keeping a concave up long profile. It also showed a downstream fining of the sediments along the fan profile. Both of these observations are in agreement with available literature concerning natural and experimental fan formations. Simulations with the three-dimensional landform produced a fan with a semicircular shape with concave up long profiles and concave down cross profiles which is typical for fans found in nature and ones developed in laboratory conditions. During the simulation the main channel which brings sediment to the fan structure changed its position constantly leading to the semicircular shape of the fan. This behaviour is similar to the autogenic process of ‘fanhead trenching’ which is the major mechanism of sediment redistribution while the fan is developing. The three-dimensional fan simulation also exhibited the downstream fining of sediments from the fan apex to the peripheries. Further, the simulated fan also developed complex internal sediment stratification which is modelled by SSSPAM. Currently such complex sediment stratification is thought to be a result of allogenic processes. However, this simulation shows that, such complex internal sediment structures can develop through autogenic processes as well. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Abstract

The complex circumstances of deep-sea mining result in unexpected accidents. When a pump abruptly stops working during mining in deep seas, several tons of minerals need to be refluxed. The commonly used computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method cannot simulate the required reflux because the volume of particles is neglected. However, this parameter can be calculated using Discrete Element Method-computational fluid dynamics (DEM-CFD). Using this method, the movement of particles and the location of the blockage becomes evident. In this study, DEM-CFD was used to simulate the reflux of nodules of diameter d?≤?10, d?≤?20, and d?≤?50?mm with a volume concentration of 8%. The results indicated that particles of diameter d?≤?50?mm cannot be refluxed and they are likely to accumulate at the junction of the impeller and vanes. Thus, the diameter of the particles needs to be controlled for effective functioning of the lifting pumps, and prevent deep-sea mining accidents.  相似文献

渤海湾盆地莱州湾凹陷KL油田地区古近系沙河街组发育了陆源碎屑岩和碳酸盐岩的混合沉积构造,国内外学者在莱州湾凹陷地区已做了一些岩相古地理方面研究工作,但KL油田地区的混合沉积研究至今未涉及.由于KL油田地区钻遇沙河街组沙三下亚段的井较少(迄今全地区钻遇沙三下亚段井9口),本文充分利用有限的钻井资料,结合岩心资料、分析化验资料、单井沉积相解剖以及地震相分析,对渤海湾盆地莱州湾凹陷KL油田地区碳酸盐岩台地混合沉积特征以及沉积演化模式进行了较为深入的探讨.研究表明,KL油田古近系沙河街组主要以扇三角洲沉积体系为主,混积岩主要发育在沙河街组沙三下亚段,而沙三下亚段发育三种不同的沉积环境:KL-1井区发育辫状河三角洲,中部KL-4井区发育滨浅湖混积滩坝,东部KL-9井区在Ⅰ油组处于潍北凸起物源供给区,发育了扇三角洲.沙三下亚段沉积时期,沉积物在碳酸盐岩台地上进行混合沉积,狭义上表现为混积岩,主要类型包括:泥质灰岩、含泥灰岩、灰质粉砂岩;广义上表现为混积层系,主要类型包括:含陆源碎屑一碳酸盐混积岩、含碳酸盐一陆源碎屑混积岩、碳酸质一陆源碎屑混积岩.  相似文献

Under the impression of decreasing ore grades and increasing production costs in conventional mining, seafloor minerals came into focus. Having gained a basic understanding of geological settings, there is still a lack of tools to assess and plan future mining projects in the deep-sea. This paper contributes to a mining concept which is inspired by the high-tech farming industry: strip mining. Potential mining fields are identified using image filters in conjunction with hydroacoustic backscatter data and slope angles and are portioned into long, narrow strips. In the framework of the EU-funded Blue Mining project, these methods were applied to a part of the eastern German exploration area, located in the manganese nodule belt of the Clarion Clipperton Zone, Pacific Ocean. Both, the mapping technique and the mining concept presented in this paper can be used in early-stage feasibility studies to derive estimates on production key figures for seafloor manganese nodule mining.  相似文献
