After the 1995 Kobe earthquake, the expressway structures in Japan were retrofitted and they will not now be seriously damaged under a certain level of strong earthquake motion. However, the stability of a moving vehicle has not been investigated yet. It has been reported that drivers feel seismically induced vibrations, especially in the transverse direction of vehicles. Owing to this phenomenon, drivers have some difficulty in controlling the vehicles during strong shaking. For further safety promotion of the expressway networks, it is important to understand the drivers' reactions to seismic motion. The present authors have performed a series of seismic response analyses of a moving vehicle to investigate its response characteristics based on numerical simulation. However, the responses of the driver were not considered in the simulation process. In order to investigate the drivers' reactions during an earthquake, a series of virtual tests were conducted using a driving simulator. This driving simulator has six servomotor‐powered electric actuators that control its motions. Several types of tests were carried out for different examinees to investigate drivers' responses while controlling the simulator under seismic motion. The results of this study showed that a larger response time lag to strong shaking and over turning of the steering wheel may shift the vehicle into the next lane. Soil water repellency has been conventionally considered as a fire‐induced effect, but an increasing number of studies have suggested that natural background repellency occurs in many soil types, and many of them have suggested that water repellency can be re‐established over time after being destroyed. An experimental fire was conducted to study changes of the soil surface during the first 18 months following intense burning. The main objectives of this paper are as follows: (1) to investigate in situ water repellency changes at three soil depths (0, 2 and 4 cm) immediately after burning; (2) to evaluate the medium‐term evolution of water repellency under field conditions; and (3) to outline the main hydrological consequences of these changes. Also, different water repellency tests (water drop penetration time, ethanol percentage test (EPT) and contact angle (CA) between water drops and the soil surface) were carried out for comparison purposes. Field experiments showed that soil water repellency was partly destroyed after intense burning. Changes were relatively strong at the soil surface, but diminished progressively with depth. Levels of water repellency were practically re‐established 18 months after burning. This suggests that water repellency in the studied area is not necessarily a consequence of fire, but can instead be a natural attribute. Finally, although limited in time, destruction of soil water repellency has important consequences for runoff flow generation and soil loss rates, and, indirectly, for water quality. 本文利用国土卫星影像就京津唐地区的自然资源与环境调查进行了多学科综合应用和高层次专题制图的研究。在研究中,对影像的基本特性、质量和使用的技术指标作了较系统的分析,并按其精度、使用程度和效果等提出了评价。同时对国土卫星像片的几何配准,运用多项式与有限元法相结合的原理,进行了计算机和光学处理的对比研究。 本区资源与环境的遥感调查应用,主要是运用遥感地学原理,分析水文下垫面要素,划分水文环境类型,计算其产水量;分析非农业用地与总土地及其它用地的比例关系,探索土地利用类型结构的地域差异规律;农业低产地环境及其数量、质量特征的研究;综合调查森林资源,包括宜林地的生态环境、立地条件及宜林树种的生态与经济特性;以及以北京为中心的京津唐旅游圈及功能分区,矿产资源的赋存机制,区域地壳稳定性及区内近一万年来的自然环境的演化规律及其与国土整治、规划和城镇建设的关系等进行了多元综合研究。同时编制了一套高层次专题图件,并量算了各种资源数据。 相似文献

The influence of weathering on the geotechnical properties and slope angles of mudstone in the Mineoka earth-slide area,Japan 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Three active earth-slide slopes of Tertiary mudstone were investigated: Slope 1 has an angle of 17 ?4°, Slope 2 of 12.9°, and Slope 3 of 11.6°. Infinite slope analysis indicated that the instability of these three slopes can be well explained by using the residual strength parameters of earth-slide soils near the sliding surface in conjunction with the highest ground water table. The residual angle of shearing resistance, ø'r, plays an important role in the determination of slope angle because it differs greatly among slopes. Mineralogical studies and X-ray diffraction analyses were performed for the clay minerals included in the slope material. The results showed that illite and chlorite were found in Slope 1, and also in Slopes 2 and 3 together with interstratified illite/montmorillonite and montmorillonite. The degree of weathering is progressive in order of Slopes 1, 2 and 3. The alteration of clay minerals by weathering causes the reduction in ø'r -values, i.e., 19.4° in Slope 1 (steep, less weathered) and 12.1-9.2° in Slopes 2 and 3 (gentle, much more weathered). This result indicates that the degree of weathering has a great influence on the value of ø'r, which in turn determines the slope angle. 相似文献

近期完成的北北东向的繁峙~太仆寺旗宽角反射/折射剖面,由山西断隆进入内蒙地轴,它穿过了山西地震带的大同~阳高震区和北西西向张家口~渤海地震带的西北缘。其主要目的是探测研究张~渤地震带及其两侧壳幔构造与速度结构的差异及其与地震活动的相关性。结果表明:张~渤地震带壳内界面及莫霍面较其两侧有1.0~2.0km的不同程度的上隆;在阳原~张家口之间地壳结构纵向与横向非均匀性明显,上地壳和下地壳上部有局部的速度逆转,下地壳下部的低速层由山西断隆一直延伸至内蒙地轴,上地幔顶部的速度梯度明显增大;在阳原、怀安和张北附近分别存在着延伸至莫霍面的地壳深断裂带;在内蒙地轴一系列壳内界面不明显。 相似文献

This paper presents a boundary element method (BEM) procedure for a linear elastic fracture mechanics analysis in two‐dimensional anisotropic bimaterials. In this formulation, a displacement integral equation is only collocated on the uncracked boundary, and a traction integral equation is only collocated on one side of the crack surface. A fundamental solution (Green's function) for anisotropic bimaterials is also derived and implemented into the boundary integral formulation so that except for the interfacial crack part, the discretization along the interface can be avoided. A special crack‐tip element is introduced to capture the exact crack‐tip behavior. A computer program using FORTRAN has been developed to effectively calculate the stress intensity factors of an anisotropic bimaterial. This BEM program has been verified to have a good accuracy with previous studies. In addition, a central cracked bimaterial Brazilian specimen constituting cement and gypsum is prepared to conduct the Brazilian test under diametral loading.
