Economic concentrations of Fe–Ti oxides occur as massive,conformable lenses or layers in the lower part of the Panzhihuaintrusion, Emeishan Large Igneous Province, SW China. Mineralchemistry, textures and QUILF equilibria indicate that oxidesin rocks of the intrusion were subjected to extensive subsolidusre-equilibration and exsolution. The primary oxide, reconstructedfrom compositions of titanomagnetite in the ores and associatedintergrowths, is an aluminous titanomagnetite (Usp40) with 40wt % FeO, 34 wt % Fe2O3, 16·5 wt % TiO2, 5·3 wt% Al2O3, 3·5 wt % MgO and 0·5 wt % MnO. This compositionis similar to the bulk composition of the oxide ore, as inferredfrom whole-rock data. This similarity strongly suggests thatthe ores formed from accumulation of titanomagnetite crystals,not from immiscible oxide melt as proposed in earlier studies.The occurrence of oxide ores in the lower parts of the Panzhihuaintrusion is best explained by settling and sorting of densetitanomagnetite in the ferrogabbroic parental magma. This magmamust have crystallized Fe–Ti oxides relatively early andabundantly, and is likely to have been enriched in Fe and Tibut poor in SiO2. These features are consistent with fractionationof mantle-derived melts under relatively high pressures (10kbar), followed by emplacement of the residual magma at 5 kbar.This study provides definitive field and geochemical evidencethat Fe–Ti oxide ores can form by accumulation in ferrogabbro.We suggest that many other massive Fe–Ti oxide depositsmay have formed in a similar fashion and that high concentrationsof phosphorus or carbon, or periodic fluctuation of fO2 in themagma, are of secondary importance in ore formation. First the scour and deposition patterns of the sandy seabed in front of a vertical breakwater under the action of irregular broken clapotis are investigated experimentally and classified into five types: scour type Ⅰ , scour type Ⅱ, scour type Ⅲ, deposition type Ⅰ, and deposition type Ⅱ . Secondly, the processes of formation of scour and deposition patterns are probed in comparison with those induced by regular broken clapotis and standing waves. Thirdly, the criteria for distinguishing scour and deposition patterns under irregular broken clapotis are presented.  相似文献

To address the relative importance of shrimp trawling on seabed resuspension and bottom characteristics in shallow estuaries, a series of disturbance and monitoring experiments were conducted at a bay bottom mud site (2.5 m depth) in Galveston Bay, Texas in July 1998 and May 1999. Based on pre- and post-trawl sediment profiles of 7Be; pore water dissolved oxygen and sulfide concentration; and bulk sediment properties, it was estimated that the trawl rig, including the net, trawl doors, and “tickler chain,” excavate the seabed to a maximum depth of approximately 1.5 cm, with most areas displaying considerably less disturbance. Water column profile data in the turbid plume left by the trawl in these underconsolidated muds (85–90% porosity; <0.25 kPa undrained shear strength) demonstrate that suspended sediment inventories of up to 85–90 mg/cm2 are produced immediately behind the trawl net; an order of magnitude higher than pre-trawl inventories and comparable to those observed during a 9–10 m/s wind event at the study site. Plume settling and dispersion caused suspended sediment inventories to return to pre-trawl values about 14 min after trawl passage in two separate experiments, indicating particles re-settle primarily as flocs before they can be widely dispersed by local currents. As a result of the passage of the trawl rig across the seabed, shear strength of the sediment surface showed no significant increase, suggesting that bed armoring is not taking place and the trawled areas will not show an increase in critical shear stress.  相似文献

利用振荡流水槽在以下两种约束条件下,研究波浪作用下直接铺设于砂质海底的管道失稳临界条件:1)管道两端自由;2)管道可水平、垂直自由运动,但流动受到限制。试验结果表明,管重无量纳数G与管道失稳的临界Fr数之间大致呈线性关系,而当G超过一定数值时,管道是侧向稳定的。管道的约束条件、砂床特性和加载速度对管道稳定性均有影响。  相似文献

本文研究了二层流体系统中波浪的衰减。上层为理想流体,下层为粘弹性Voigt体。导出了色散关系,计算了波浪衰减系数。对于粘性或弹性很大或很小的情况,导出了各种水深情况下近似的显式的衰减系数表示式。与精确的数值结果比较,近似程度很好。可供工程设计参考、使用。  相似文献

An appropriate concentration of fluoride in drinking water is required to prevent dental cavities, but long-term ingestion of water that contains more than a suitable level of fluoride can cause bone disease and mottling of the teeth. Fluoride ions can be found in wastewater from the fluoride chemical industry, as well as the semiconductor, metal processing, fertilizer, and glass-manufacturing industries. The discharge standard for fluoride in industrial wastewater in China is 10 mg/L. Efficient treatment of fluoride-containing wastewater is therefore of major concern in China, following the rapid development of the fluoride chemical industry. Several methods have been used to remove fluoride from water, such as adsorption, chemical precipitation, electrodialysis, ion exchange and electrochemical processes. Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) are anionic clays with high anion exchange capacities which are effective adsorbents for removal of a variety of anionic pollutants. LDHs have been studied as potential adsorbents for removing toxic anionic species such as CrO4^2-, TcO4^-, SeO3^2-, pesticides, and anionic surfactants from aqueous systems. One of the main attractions of using LDHs for fluoride removal, is that unlike other chemical treatment methods, no chemical sludge should be produced. In the present study, an attempt was made to investigate the mechanism of fluoride removal by LDHs under different conditions using batch methods. In addition, the release of fluoride adsorbed on LDHs by treatment with an aqueous solution of Na2CO3 was studied. The residual fluoride was found to be 10 mg/L in a solution with an initial concentration of 1000 mg/L, which meets the discharge standard for fluoride in industrial wastewater in China.  相似文献
