Human settlements are the place where human beings live,among which the rural settlements can be regarded as a reflection of human-land relationship in mountain areas because their vertical distribution is greatly influenced by the specific geographical environment and ecological conditions of mountains.Based on field investigation,this paper uses physical,geographical,and ecological theories to make a comprehensive study of rural settlements and mountain disasters in the upper Min River,which is an ecologically fragile area with high-frequency disasters(collapse,landslide,debris flow,etc.) and a minority inhabit district.By applying these modern scientific theories,this paper attempts to shed some light on the relationship between rural settlements and mountain disasters.Consequently,an in-depth understanding of this relationship was achieved as follows:(1) Rural settlements and mountain disasters are mainly distributed in the intercepted flows of water and soil; and both quantity and quality of arable lands in mountains are important indicators of these flows.(2) The Small Watershed Management Project is a complex system of rural settlements and mountain disasters that interacts with and constrains the ecological system.By this project,the human survival will be better guaranteed.Being fundamental for the ecological reconstruction,the coupling mechanism of rural settlements and mountain disasters is not only an engine to promote harmonious development between human and nature,but also a bridge to link them. 相似文献

Summary. Travel times and waveforms of long-period SH -waves recorded at distances of 10–30° and some SS waveforms are used to constrain the upper mantle velocities down to a depth of 400km beneath both the Indian Shield and the Tibetan Plateau. the shear velocity in the uppermost mantle beneath both the Indian Shield and the Tibetan Plateau is high and close to 4.7 km s−1 . the Indian Shield has a fairly thick high velocity lid, and the mean velocity between 40 and 250 km is between 4.58 and 4.68 km s−1 . In contrast, S -wave travel times and waveforms of S -waves, as well as a few for SS , show that the mean velocity between 70 and 250km beneath the central and northern part of the Tibetan Plateau is slower by 4 per cent or more than that beneath the Indian Shield and probably is between 4.4 and 4.5km s−1 . No large differences in the structure of the two areas below 250 km are required to explain both the arrival times and the waveforms of SH phases crossing Tibet or the Indian Shield. These results show that the structure of Tibet is not that of a shield and imply that the Indian plate is not underthrusting the whole of the Tibetan Plateau at the present time. 相似文献

The circulation in the basin of the South China Sea is reproduced using a four-layer numerical model. Current fields in the second (upper) and third (intermediate) layers are emphasized. Three eddies coexist in the upper layer in summer. The circulation pattern in this layer is similar to that in the first (surface) layer. In winter, a cyclonic circulation occupies the entire basin of the South China Sea in the upper layer as in the surface layer. On the other hand, the circulation pattern in the intermediate layer is fairly different from that in upper two layers especially in winter. A double-gyre pattern appears in the intermediate layer during winter. The pattern is caused by the propagation of the baroclinic Rossby wave of the second mode. This wave is excited at onset of the winter monsoon wind. Such circulation pattern well explains the observed salinity distribution in the intermediate layer. Although the double-gyre pattern in the intermediate layer is revealed even in summer in this model, it is restricted in the western part of the basin. Besides, its current speed is small compared to that in winter. 相似文献
