Riffle–pool sequences are maintained through the preferential entrainment of sediment grains from pools rather than riffles. This preferential entrainment has been attributed to a reversal in the magnitude of velocity and shear stress under high flows; however the Differential Sediment Entrainment Hypothesis (DSEH) postulates that differential entrainment can instead result from spatial sedimentological contrasts. Here we use a novel suite of in situ grain‐scale field measurements from a riffle–pool sequence to parameterize a physically‐based model of grain entrainment. Field measurements include pivoting angles, lift forces and high resolution digital elevation models (DEMs) acquired using terrestrial laser scanning, from which particle exposure, protrusion and surface roughness were derived. The entrainment model results show that grains in pools have a lower critical entrainment shear stress than grains in either pool exits or riffles. This is because pool grains have looser packing, hence greater exposure and lower pivoting angles. Conversely, riffle and pool exit grains have denser packing, lower exposure and higher pivoting angles. A cohesive matrix further stabilizes pool exit grains. The resulting predictions of critical entrainment shear stress for grains in different subunits are compared with spatial patterns of bed shear stress derived from a two‐dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model of the reach. The CFD model predicts that, under bankfull conditions, pools experience lower shear stresses than riffles and pool exits. However, the difference in sediment entrainment shear stress is sufficiently large that sediment in pools is still more likely to be entrained than sediment in pool exits or riffles, resulting in differential entrainment under bankfull flows. Significantly, this differential entrainment does not require a reversal in flow velocities or shear stress, suggesting that sedimentological contrasts alone may be sufficient for the maintenance of riffle–pool sequences. 2011年8月6日14时,临近黄河的韩城禹昌煤矿在11^#煤层回采过程中发生底板奥灰水突水,突水通过相邻煤矿采空区,并与8月7日零时5分许冲跨桑树坪煤矿北二车场绕道封闭墙进入斜井280m大巷,很快淹没整个大巷系统造成斜井整体淹井事故。在进行了井上、下水文地质调查、物探、钻探探查和示踪剂测试、水质化验与综合分析研究的基础上,初步确定了突水点与过水通道的区域,结合矿井11#煤层顶、底板、奥灰岩峰峰二段水文地质条件特征,采取了骨料灌注沉积法和松散体注浆加固法,成功隔离了两个矿井之间的水力联系。经过单位吸水率、追排水量、水位变化、残余出水量检验,达到了预期目的,实现了隐蔽突水点及过水通道快速封堵,为矿井全面恢复生产提供了重要保障。  相似文献

在连霍高速公路运营时间不同的湾刘和小王庄断面, 按照距离公路的远近不同布设采样点, 对路旁土壤重金属(Cd、Cu、Pb、Zn、Ni、Cr)的空间分布特征及土壤重金属潜在生态风险展开研究。结果表明:运营时间较长的湾刘断面(处于中等生态风险状态)路旁土壤重金属含量高于小王庄断面(总体处于轻微生态风险状态)。随着距公路路基距离的增加, 多数重金属含量及潜在生态风险呈不规则偏态分布。湾刘断面的RI峰值出现在距路基50~100m之间, 小王庄断面出现在距路基35 m处。土壤Cd是最主要的风险因子, 对RI的贡献率平均为61.39%。土壤污染物潜在生态风险评价应根据所研究污染物种类和数量对H?kanson 潜在生态风险指数分级标准进行适当调整。  相似文献

对颗粒材料中的力链分布特征的了解,有助于从根本上了解颗粒材料基本性质。借助光弹实验,对两种直径混合的颗粒材料在二维直剪作用下的平均强度力链分布和几何结构变化进行了初步的探索。光弹实验方法是目前能够直观观察到力链分布的唯一有效的实验方法,在进行光弹实验前,设计研制了光弹直剪仪并进行了多次光弹圆盘颗粒材料退火实验。利用数字图像技术对光弹实验结果进行处理,并尝试用彩色梯度算法表征颗粒材料的平均受力情况,并获得平均强度力链。结果表明,二元颗粒材料集合体的几何结构具有各向异性。对力链方向统计分析表明,平均强度力链出现了局部化。  相似文献

针对常规沿空留巷技术在工作面回采速度和采空区作业危险性方面存在的局限性,提出了一种新型沿空留巷技术——宽断面预留墩柱沿空留巷技术,该技术的实施步骤为:首先掘进一条宽断面巷道,随后在巷道断面中心安设一排墩柱,墩柱的一侧为本工作面的运输巷,另一侧作为下一工作面的轨道巷,墩柱作为巷旁支护体使下一工作面的轨道巷保留下来以供使用。结果表明:在掘巷时设立墩柱能够维持宽断面巷道围岩的稳定,同时避免了传统沿空留巷在工作面后方作业,安全性得到了较大提高。在巷道掘进阶段,采用二次成巷技术和锚杆-墩柱联合支护技术可保证巷道的稳定;在留巷阶段,高强度的墩柱对沿空留巷顶板的切断和支撑有较好的控制效果,当墩柱间距为1.5 m时,切顶所需墩柱阻力为21.53 MPa,小于墩柱抗压强度(42 MPa),墩柱承载力满足沿空留巷要求,顶底板相对移近量为652 mm,墩柱压缩量最大值为164 mm,墩柱能起到一定让压作用,同时对顶板有较好的支撑,可以很好地适应沿空留巷顶板活动规律,现场应用效果良好。  相似文献

针对亚硫酸盐制浆造纸废液中段水可生化降解CODB与不可生化降解CODNB各半的水质特点,采用二级好氧悬浮生物填料浮动床处理及物化絮凝处理的工艺试验,取得了有关试验数据;并根据COD容积负荷与出水残留COD的关系,探讨了利用酶反应动力学曲线预测试验稳定运行状态下出水CODB值。结果表明:利用生化—絮凝两处理技术的优势互补,可使最终排水COD与BOD同时达到国家造纸工业水污染物排放标准。  相似文献

在SCO Unix 5.0.6操作系统下,采用了模块化的编程技术,完成了各类气象资料的查错和打包等功能,将气象资料的处理、发送平台相统一,极大地提高了资料的传输时效,减少了网络维护人员的工作量,减少了国家气象信息中心FTP服务器的负荷。另外,系统完成了基于SCO Unix下特种资料(长文件名资料)的查错、打包和传输,填补了原9210系统基于省级常规气象资料(短文件名资料)的打包及长文件名资料传输上的空白。  相似文献

Over the past 60 years, road deicers (i.e. road salt) have been applied to roadways in high latitudes to improve road conditions in winter weather. However, the dissolution of road deicers in highway runoff creates waters with high concentrations of sodium, which can mobilize soil metals via soil cation‐exchange reactions. While several studies have detailed the interactions of road salt‐rich solutions and surface and ground waters, less attention has been given to how local hydrologic flowpaths can impact the delivery of these solutions to near‐road soils. Between 2013 and 2014, soil water samples were collected from a roadside transect of lysimeter nests in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (USA). Soil water samples were analysed for metal concentrations and resulting data used to examine cation dynamics. While patterns in soil water calcium and magnesium concentrations follow patterns in soil water sodium concentrations, additional processes influence patterns in soil water potassium concentrations. Specifically, we observe the highest calcium and magnesium concentrations in the deepest lysimeters, suggesting divalent cations are mobilized to, and potentially accumulate in, deeper soil horizons. In contrast, soil water potassium concentrations do not follow this pattern. Additionally, in all examined elements (Ca, Mg, K, Na, and Cl), the timing of concentration peaks appears be influenced by a combination of both distance from the roadside and sampling depth. These relationships not only suggest that multiple soil water flowpaths interact with our study transect but also confirm that road salt plumes persist and migrate following the road salting season. Characterizing the interactions of sodium‐rich solutions and roadside soil cation pools clarifies our understanding of metal dynamics in the roadside environment. A deeper understanding of these processes is necessary to effectively restore and manage watersheds as high total dissolved solid solutions (e.g. road deicing melt, unconventional natural gas brines, and marginal irrigation water) continue to influence hydrological systems. Mechanical trapping (or straining) of fine particles is a key mechanism in many filtration systems. For example, the performance of rapid sand filters depends in part on mechanical trapping of larger fine particles, while relying on adsorptive processes to trap very small fine particles and microbes. The ability to trap these particles is directly related to the construction of the packed bed used for filtration in this system. Thus, the ability to model the effect of the inner structure of the packed bed can lead to more efficient design for improved filtration. Because of its significant efficiency, gravitational sphere packing is employed in this work to simulate a bed of mono‐sized randomly packed spheres. The simulated bed provides a way to visualize the pore network and estimate the pore size distribution associated with the void space between particles. Furthermore, by subsequently introducing fine particles into the bed, we evaluate the mass‐rate of fine particles passing through and possibly saturating the packed bed. Results show that fine particles between 15% and 25% of the coarse particle size can be physically strained within the randomly packed bed. These results differ significantly from the results obtained assuming a periodically spaced bed. The technique therefore provides an efficient yet accurate alternative for understanding how fine particles pass through a coarse particulate medium. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

改进BCR法测定公路两旁表层土壤中铂钯铑的化学形态   总被引:3,自引:2,他引:1  
铂、钯、铑是汽车催化转换器中的主要成分,在有效治理汽车尾气污染的同时,不断排放并在环境中累积增加,随着元素的迁移、转化及地下水的循环,可能成为一种新的环境污染问题.本文将改进的BCR顺序提取法应用于铂族元素形态分析,结合铂族元素的性质,将公路两旁表层土壤样品中Pt、Pd、Rh分为酸溶态、可还原态、可氧化态和残渣态四种形态.实验优化了原始的BCR浸取条件,利用电感耦合等离子体质谱法测定Pt、Pd、Rh的各形态.各形态的精密度、检出限满足地质矿产实验室测试质量管理规范的监控要求,各形态浸取量之和与样品各元素的总量之比(回收率)在95.3% ~ 110.0%,说明方法具有较好的准确性和重现性.通过实际样品分析,公路两旁表层土壤样品中铂族元素非残渣态含量顺序为Pd (57.23% ~ 58.03%)>Rh (22.64% ~25.80%) >Pt(17.91 ~20.57%),研究认为铂族元素进入生物圈的几率是Pd> Rh> Pt.  相似文献
