The effect of pressure on ionic diffusion in orthorhombic MgSiO3 perovskite has been investigated using density functional theory. An intensive investigation of possible silicon pathways revealed new positions of the saddle-points and an enthalpy of migration at 26.2 GPa of 4.7 eV that is in fair agreement with the experimental values of about 3.5 eV at 25 GPa. This is much lower than found in previous studies (~9 eV) and removes the need to explain silicon diffusion by a complicated process involving coupled oxygen vacancies, as has been previously proposed. Our migration enthalpies for oxygen and magnesium are in excellent agreement with experiments. We find that oxygen diffusion occurs via a chain of several inequivalent jumps along the octahedron edges, and that magnesium occurs via two inequivalent [110] jumps and one [001] jump. We also present activation volumes for all three species at 25 and 135 GPa.  相似文献

本文对比了华北东部不同时代、不同位置捕虏体/地质体橄榄岩的地幔属性,讨论了华北克拉通破坏的物理、化学过程。结果表明,拆沉作用不能很好地解释古老难熔、过渡型和新生饱满地幔并存的事实;单纯的熔体-橄榄岩相互作用也不易解释中、新生代岩石圈巨大减薄和新生饱满地幔Cpx中LREE亏损现象,即具复杂演化历史的克拉通地幔向演化历史简单的"大洋型"岩石圈的转换。华北东部克拉通破坏作用包括地幔伸展、熔-岩作用、侵蚀置换等复杂的物理、化学过程。岩石圈先大幅减薄、后小幅增厚实现了最终的地幔置换和岩石圈整体减薄过程。喷发时代为100 Ma的阜新玄武岩所捕获的橄榄岩主体是饱满的,说明华北东部部分地区在此之前有过地幔置换作用。  相似文献

The comprehensive investigation of polar ozone photochemistry and dynamics has required data obtained from as full a complement of available platforms as possible (ground-based, balloon, aircraft, and satellites). Perhaps the most detailed process studies have been conducted using measurements from aircraft, taking advantage of their targeting capabilities coupled with the potential for enabling measurements at high spatial and temporal resolution. The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) conducted the first airborne science investigation of polar ozone in an effort to establish the causes of the recurring seasonal depletion of the Earth's stratospheric ozone layer over Antarctica that was identified in the mid-1980s. Subsequent airborne studies in the polar regions of both hemispheres benefitted from extensive successful collaborations among international scientists and the integration of the aircraft measurements with those obtained using ground-based, balloon-borne, and satellite instruments. This article provides an historical perspective of NASA's utilization of its airborne assets to advance our understanding of the chemical and physical processes that control the abundance of stratospheric ozone in both the Antarctic and Arctic.  相似文献

本文对云南富民地区晚二叠世中—基性岩体、峨眉山玄武岩进行了同位素年代学、岩石学和地球化学的研究。富民基性岩体为辉绿岩,中性岩墙为碱性二长岩。两者均富集LREE、LILE和HFSE,具有OIB的特征,以及相似的Sr-Nd同位素特征,基性岩体的(87Sr/86Sr)i为0.70565~0.70626,εNd(t)为-0.06~+0.49,中性岩墙的(87Sr/86Sr)i为0.70564~0.70567,εNd(t)为-0.32~+0.41。基性岩LA-ICPMS锆石U-Pb测年结果为257.6±2Ma,表明富民中—基性岩体形成于峨眉山大火成岩省大规模岩浆作用的末期。地球化学证据表明富民中—基性岩体是高Ti型玄武质岩浆经连续演化形成的。富民中—基性岩的原始岩浆是地幔柱在石榴子石稳定区经小程度部分熔融的产物。同位素比值与抗蚀变不相容元素比值(如Nb/U)的相关性表明,基性岩在岩浆形成过程中未遭遇地壳混染,而二长岩遭受了少量地壳混染。富民地区晚二叠世中—基性岩体,尤其是螃蟹箐二长岩的发现,证实了ELIP地区"双峰式"火山岩组合中普遍缺失的中性岩体的存在,为长英质岩体的分离结晶成因模型提供了关键证据。  相似文献

Summary Phase velocities of Rayleigh waves propagating along the Prague-Warsaw profile have been determined. A layered model of the Earth's crust and upper mantle, satisfying the observed dispersion of Rayleigh waves, has been derived. In this study, from the travel time data recorded in the Tianshan passive seismic array experiment, we present the P-wave velocity structure of the upper mantle down to 660 km along the Kuqa-Kuitun pro-file in terms of seismic tomography technique. Based on the P-wave velocity model, we derive the corresponding 2D upper mantle density model. The 2D small-scale convection of the upper mantle underneath the Tianshan Mountains in China driven by the density anomalies is simulated using the hybrid finite element method combining with the marker-in-cell technique. The main features of the upper mantle convection and the reciprocation between the convection and mountain building are in-vestigated. The results manifest that (1) in the upper mantle underneath the Junggar basin and North Tianshan exists a counterclockwise convection, which scale is ~ 500 km; (2) underneath the Tarim ba-sin and South Tianshan exists a clockwise northward convection, which is relatively weak; (3) the convective velocity at the top of the upper mantle underneath the Tianshan Mountains in China should not be less than 20 mm/a, while considering the dependent of convective velocity on the viscosity; (4) the northward extrusion of the Tarim block plays a key role in the Cenozoic Tianshan mountain building and the present-day tectonic deformation of the Tianshan range is related closely to the upper mantle convection; and (5) the northward subduction of the Tarim block does not influence obviously the up-per mantle convection.  相似文献

A study of potassium‐ and silica‐rich glass (SiO2 = 65.3–67.4%, K2O = 7.1–9.8%, Na2O = 4.4–6.5%) in spongy clinopyroxene rims from anhydrous spinel harzburgite, collected from Damaping (Hannuoba, north China), is reported here. The corroded surface of clinopyroxene along with clear chemical zonation (homogeneous core and partially melted rim) suggests that incongruent melting of primary clinopyroxene is responsible for generating the Si‐rich glass in clinopyroxene rims. The degree of clinopyroxene melting is estimated to be higher than 15%. In order to generate glass with K2O contents of 7.0 to 9.8% by clinopyroxene melting at a degree of 15% in a closed system, K2O contents in the primary clinopyroxene should be greater than 1.0 wt%, suggesting a very deep origin for the Damaping harzburgite.  相似文献

介绍了近年来国际地球物理学界在石榴子石相矿物高温塑性实验研究领域取得的进展和它的意义。这些实验研究进展表明地幔转换带内的富石榴子石岩层的流变强度要大大高于相邻深度的其它矿物相,从而导致地幔转换带流变非均匀性。这种由于矿物组分差异产生的地幔流变性非均匀性对地幔转换带地球动力学特征有着十分重大的影响。首先,石榴子石相矿物在很大程度上决定了那里的强度结构,并控制了地幔转换带的流变性。第二,中、深源地震的成因在很大程度上与石榴子石相矿物流变特性有关,第三,地幔转换带流变的非均匀性将影响到俯冲板块的下插深度和消减过程,最后,对这一课题的未来研究方向和问题作了简单的介绍。  相似文献
