By tracking the locally strongest part of the sea-surface velocity field, which was obtained by integrating data of satellite
altimeters and surface drifting buoys, we extracted the Kuroshio axis south of Japan every 10 days from October 1992 to December
2000. The obtained axes clearly express the effect of the bottom topography; three modes were observed when the Kuroshio ran
over the Izu Ridge. The axis was very stable to the south of ‘Tosa-bae,’ off the Kii Channel. Mean current speed at the Kuroshio
axis gradually increased from 0.65 m/s south of Kyushu to 1.45 m/s off Enshu-nada.

Nucleation properties of different alcoholic solutions of Benzoin and Benzoin dust have been studied by varying the seeding temperature in a laboratory Cold Chamber. In the present study, three different alcoholic solutions are being used and these are due to the standard Ethyl alcohol, one higher alcohol i.e. Isopropyle alcohol and one lower alcohol i.e. Methyl alcohol. In addition, Benzil dust and droplets of Acetone and Chloroform have been used to examine if these agents have any ice nucleation ability. It has been observed that all alcoholic solutions of Benzoin have sufficient ice nucleation ability at the negative side of 0°C, with the maximum concentration occurring at −14.4°C. In case of Benzoin dust, the nucleation ability is better on the positive side of 0°C than the negative side. On the other hand, Benzil dust has insignificant nucleation ability and the droplets of two other agents have no nucleation ability at all.Considering the chemical as well as crystalline structure, one can conclude that the presence of OH group in the seeding molecule plays the central role in ice nucleation/hydrate crystal formation. In fact, a number of supplementary experiments like crystal growth in an incubator, XRD analysis and NMR study are performed to identify the nature of crystals formed by Benzoin dust above 0°C. One can conclude that these are hydrate crystals of Benzoin with water caging around Benzoin crystals. 相似文献

Seismic waves propagate through the earth as a superposition of different wave modes. Seismic imaging in areas characterized by complex geology requires techniques based on accurate reconstruction of the seismic wavefields. A crucial component of the methods in this category, collectively known as wave‐equation migration, is the imaging condition that extracts information about the discontinuities of physical properties from the reconstructed wavefields at every location in space. Conventional acoustic migration techniques image a scalar wavefield representing the P‐wave mode, in contrast to elastic migration techniques, which image a vector wavefield representing both the P‐ and S‐waves. For elastic imaging, it is desirable that the reconstructed vector fields are decomposed into pure wave modes, such that the imaging condition produces interpretable images, characterizing, for example, PP or PS reflectivity. In anisotropic media, wave mode separation can be achieved by projection of the reconstructed vector fields on the polarization vectors characterizing various wave modes. For heterogeneous media, because polarization directions change with position, wave mode separation needs to be implemented using space‐domain filters. For transversely isotropic media with a tilted symmetry axis, the polarization vectors depend on the elastic material parameters, including the tilt angles. Using these parameters, we separate the wave modes by constructing nine filters corresponding to the nine Cartesian components of the three polarization directions at every grid point. Since the S polarization vectors in transverse isotropic media are not defined in the singular directions, e.g., along the symmetry axes, we construct these vectors by exploiting the orthogonality between the SV and SH polarization vectors, as well as their orthogonality with the P polarization vector. This procedure allows one to separate all three modes, with better preserved P‐wave amplitudes than S‐wave amplitudes. Realistic synthetic examples show that this wave mode separation is effective for both 2D and 3D models with strong heterogeneity and anisotropy. 相似文献

In this work we study experimentally the flow dynamics inside the rotor of a three straight-bladed Cross-Flow Turbine (CFT). The CFT model used in the experiments is based on symmetric NACA-0015 profiles, with a chord to rotor diameter ratio of 0.16. The turbine model was designed in order to quantify the flow inside and around the rotor using planar Digital Particle Image Velocimetry (DPIV). Tests were made by forcing the rotation of the turbine with a DC motor, which provided precise control of the Tip Speed Ratio (TSR), while being towed in a still-water tank at a constant turbine diameter Reynolds number of 6.1 × 104. The range of TSRs covered in the experiments went from 0.7 to 2.3.The focus is given to the analysis of the blade-wake interactions inside the rotor. The investigation has allowed us to relate the interactions with the performance differences in this type of turbines, as a function of the operational tip speed ratio. 相似文献

为了研究潮流能水轮机尾流场的变化规律,本文在水平轴水轮机现有理论基础上,采用计算流体力学技术建立了数值模型,计算了水轮机的功率特性,进行了网格独立性验证,比较了模型中旋转区域不同对结果的影响。仿真结果与试验结果进行了对比分析,验证了数值模型的有效性。研究了全工况下尾流场速度衰减随尖速比和距离变化的规律,结果显示在小尖速比下尾流场速度恢复情况相对大尖速比下较好;靠近水轮机轮毂中心线位置处,衰减相对较大。研究建议水轮机在同等功率表现下尽量选择在小尖速比下工作,水轮机组在实际排列时避免采用成列布置,水轮机设计阶段应综合考虑功率特性和尾流场衰减。本文研究内容可以为潮流能水轮机的研究以及阵列式应用提供参考。 相似文献
