豫南石漫滩水库北岸地基岩土工程地质特征

近几年来 ,在河南省舞钢市石漫滩水库北岸 ,已发现多处建筑物开裂损坏的现象 ,随着建筑向不良工程地质条件地段的发展 ,建筑物损坏有增大的趋势。本文对该区地层的分布特点及其工程地质条件进行分析论述 ,以期引起建筑和工程设计部门对该区不良地质现象的重视 ,达到避免事故发生的目的     

Use of multivariate statistical methods in data-base maintenance

Multivariate statistical methods may be used to enhance large data bases by predicting missing information and verifying unchecked data vectors. In addition, new techniques may be used for exploratory purposes to investigate the interrelationships between variables. The techniques are being applied successfully in coal mining.     

Some consequences of applying lognormal theory to pseudolognormal distributions

A logarithmic transformation may be used to improve the efficiency of estimates of the mean when observations follow the lognormal distribution. But if this transformation is applied to observations that follow another distribution, bias may be introduced. We consider some consequences of erroneously applying lognormal estimation theory and demonstrate that biased estimates may be obtained for certain classes of distributions. Illustrations of bias obtained in gold sampling are given.     

Trend-surface analysis

This paper is largely an exposition of the work of the French geostatistian G. Matheron and his school in English and at a simpler mathematical level. The probability theory on which it is based is essentially all contained in the references cited, most of which will be unfamiliar to mathematical geologists. The important method of universal kriging is explained intuitively. 本文对我国环境工程地质的发展简况、研究现状和末来所面临的问题等进行了回顾、概括和展望,指出我国环境工程地质问题日趋复杂。从防御和保护环境出发,我国未来的环境地质问题将以沿海地区、长江中下游沿江地带和内陆大中城市地区为重点。建立经济、社会和环境协调发展的环境工程地质的科学体系已成为当务之急。

Processing map and well log data for geological and soil surveys

Design of a system which accepts geological maps or soil maps, together with corresponding well logs and produces interpretation maps, is described. The major aim was to get a processing program that would be useful at an operational scale that avoids the use of special purpose graphics hardware. This was achieved by using segment encoding of lines and by treatment of mapped units as basic graphical units (atoms). The system operation was split into an input phase and a processed phase. Input- and file-building require some technical experience, but are a one-time affair, whereas subsequent processing requires less (graphical) resources and experience, but is of a repetitive nature. When writing processing programs, emphasis was placed on ease of adding options. Clever improvements of efficiency (e.g., disk traffic) were not deemed worthwhile or even wise. Two driving forces behind the project required the programs reported here. First was the observation that digital data can be used only if appropriate programs are readily available to produce required results without need for large investments in hardware. Second was the idea that digital tools could be most effective if they allow the end-user (customer) to interact directly with the full base of data without recourse to technical experts. The resulting system is operational and running on a VAX 11/750, coded in FORTRAN.     

A least-squares method for determining the best-fit point maximum, great circle, and small circle to nondirectional orientation data

Given a set of nondirectional orientation data (fold axes, lineations, dip and dip direction of bedding, universal stage readings of crystallographic axes, etc.),the best-fit line (point maximum),plane (great circle),or cone (small circle)can be determined by minimizing the sum of the squares of the angular residuals using a simplex convergence technique. Stereoplots of the angular deviation over the complete lower hemisphere for these distributions may also be generated when consideration of the constraint on the best-fit position is important; for example in comparing different data sets of the same structural element. The routines are available as a FORTRAN coded computer program.
