Monthly mean temperatures and monthly precipitation totals at six stations from theCappadocian sub‐region in the continental Central Anatolia region of Turkey were analysed in order to detect the response of the variability in the Cappadocian climate to the variability of the North Sea ‐ Caspian Pattern Index (NCPI). Most of this region is classified as semi‐arid according to various climate classifications. Time series of the NCPI for the period 1958–1998, enabled each month from October toApril to be classified as belonging to the negative phase NCP(?), positive phase NCP(+) or neutral conditions. Monthly temperature and precipitation series for each station were analysed separately for both phases. Temperatures during NCP(?) were found to be considerably higher than during NCP(+). These results confirm previous results regarding the role of the NCP in controlling the temperature regime in that region. No significant differences were found in precipitation totals between the two phases, but major differences were identified in their spatial structure. 相似文献

Behaviour and modelling of partial‐strength beam‐to‐column composite joints for seismic applications
A refined component model is proposed to predict the inelastic monotonic response of exterior and interior beam‐to‐column joints for partial‐strength composite steel–concrete moment‐resisting frames. The joint typology is designed to exhibit ductile seismic response through plastic deformation developing simultaneously in the column web panel in shear, the bolted end‐plate connection, the column flanges in bending and the steel reinforcing bars in tension. The model can handle the large inelastic deformations consistent with high ductility moment‐resisting frames. Slip response between the concrete slab and the beams was taken into account. A fibre representation was adopted for the concrete slab to accurately capture the non‐uniform stress distribution and progressive crushing of the concrete at the interface between the concrete slab and the column flange. The model is validated against results from full‐scale subassemblages monotonic physical tests performed at the University of Pisa, Italy. A new kind of composite pile named Concrete-cored DCM (Deep-Cement-Mixing) pile is introduced for supporting medium loads
in soft clay ground. This composite pile is composed of an inner precast concrete pile and an external DCM pile socket, where
the high strength concrete pile is designed to bear the load of building, and DCM pile socket acts to transfer axial force
into the surrounding soils by skin frictions. In this paper we introduce its application in soft ground, and tentatively investigated
its bearing capacity and settlement using static loading tests and Finite Element Method. Our study indicates that concrete-cored
DCM pile acts as a friction pile and is an economical and effective method for settlement control and capacity improvement
in soft clay ground. This study is also valuable for research on the mechanism of other composite piles.

Response surface experimental designs provide a framework for evaluating sensitivities and assessing uncertainties in reservoir-production forecasts for continuous parameters (i.e. permeability, flow rate, etc.). In this paper, the method is extended in order to integrate both continuous and discrete parameters (i.e. fault status: open/close, injection scheme: SWAG/WAG, etc.). This paper presents an appropriate experimental designs approach, notably the regression models associated with, and the statistical interpretation (sensitivity study, Monte Carlo simulations, etc.). The method has been successfully applied to a reservoir oil-production simulation problem. The objective was to define the best production scheme by optimizing the well-completion level. This application has highlighted the advantages of this new approach, both in terms of decreasing simulation cost and improving the interpretation quality. 相似文献
