The Quaternary fills of the buried valleys of southern Alberta and Saskatchewan have provided a wealth of information for the reconstruction of the glacial-interglacial record of the western plains of Canada, and this paper reports on the previously unstudied stratigraphy of the buried Calgary Valley and its former tributaries in the lower Red Deer River area. We attempt to differentiate Empress Group sediments, which potentially relate to pre-glacial, interglacial/ interstadial and post-glacial lake and river deposition, using sedimentology, stratigraphy and palaeoecology. Twenty-nine stratigraphical logs indicate that Empress Group sediments have infilled a considerably large area of badlands and tributary coulees that once drained into the Calgary Valley, located 15 km to the north of Dinosaur Provincial Park. Radiocarbon dates of 52.4 ka, 27.4 ka and > 42.4 ka and glacially modified quartz grains suggest that at least some of the valley fills date to interglacial or interstadial periods and may be mid-Wisconsinan in age. However, outcrops of an older till overlying other valley fills suggest that the buried valleys were only partially excavated during interglacials/interstadials and that older (even pre-glacial) sediments could have survived. Subglacial channels, recognisable on air photographs, largely coincide with buried valley positions due to the preferential excavation of the Quaternary sediment by meltwater and are filled with post-glacial lake sediment from which a radiocarbon date of 16 ka BP was obtained. The Cryogenian succession of the Northern Flinders Ranges reveals a complex sedimentary record between the Sturtian and Marinoan glacial deposits. A major unconformity separates the Sturtian and Marinoan-aged sedimentary successions in the area. This forms a subaerial erosion surface with terrestrial and marginal marine infill directly above the Angepena and Balcanoona Formations in their respective localities. This exposure surface is here correlated with the previously documented submarine unconformity between the Yankaninna Formation and the underlying deep marine Tapley Hill Formation. This erosional event provides a chronostratigraphic marker horizon that coincides approximately with thepreviously defined Sturtian–Marinoan Time Series boundary in the Northern Flinders Ranges. These stratigraphic relationships also constrain lateral facies relationships between the Oodnaminta ReefComplex (Balcanoona Formation) and the Angepena Formation. 湘、黔地区张家界、遵义一带分布有黑色岩系型Ni-Mo-PGE矿床,测试分析表明黑色页岩样品铂族元素含量特征参数∑PGE、Ln(Pd/Pt)、(Ru/Ir)×(Pd/Pt)、Ln[(Ru/Ir)×(Pd/Pt)]均与有机质含量特征参数有较好的相关性.趋势分析显示,铂族元素含量特征参数Ln[(Ru/Ir)×(Pd/Pt)]与总有机碳含量特征参数Ln(Corg)有很好的线性相关,线性相关公式为y=0.4762x-1.1316,相关系数R为0.7584,说明该参数为一稳定性参数,主要受有机质总量决定,集中反映了生物制约性.而与湖南张家界样品有机碳含量Ln(Corg)与铂族元素含量∑PGE同步正消长关系不一样,即贵州遵义地区铂族元素总量∑PGE与有机碳含量的相关性表现出的不一致的规律,可以解释为后生期的热事件(印支海西期,Rb-Sr等时线年龄277±37Ma)导致有机质干酪根的高成熟化、大量生过气(C>2%)和石墨化趋势,或者说是芳构化效应改变了源岩有机质而导致了有机质的损耗. 相似文献

位于内蒙古中西部地区的宝音图群,主要由云母片岩、斜长角闪岩、石英岩和大理岩等组成。其中云母片岩中发育典型的巴罗式递增变质带,目前对于该递增变质带的研究非常薄弱。本文对宝音图群的云母片岩开展了系统的岩相学、矿物化学、相平衡模拟以及锆石U-Pb年代学的研究。岩相学研究结果显示,三个云母片岩样品具有不同的峰期矿物组合,分别为石榴子石+白云母+黑云母+斜长石+石英,十字石+白云母+黑云母+斜长石+钛铁矿+石英,石榴子石+蓝晶石+白云母+黑云母+斜长石+钛铁矿+石英。此外,样品LS93和LS07存在晚期红柱石的叠加。相平衡模拟研究限定三个云母片岩的峰期温度压力分别为:577℃、0.73 GPa, 620℃、0.78 GPa和670℃、0.8 GPa,具有递增型特征,其峰期温度压力指示的地热梯度为18~20℃/km,为典型的中压相系;此外,三个样品的P-T轨迹均显示早期升温升压直至峰期阶段,随后降温降压的顺时针型,反映地壳加厚和后期抬升的演化过程。云母片岩中的锆石发育典型的变质边结构,变质边的Th/U=0.004~0.02,锆石U-Pb年代学结果显示该变质年龄为398±6 Ma,代表峰期或近峰期阶... 相似文献

从储层的微观特征入手,通过各种实验分析认为:塔里木盆地库车坳陷—塔北隆起白垩系巴什基奇克组砂岩中的碳酸盐岩碎屑有五大特征,明显区别于胶结物:粒度粗,一般比其周围的原生孔隙大,磨圆好(个别有晚期压溶现象),轮廓清晰;在砂岩中分布相对均匀,非斑块状;碎屑中存在古生物的化石且多为粉细晶;胶结物(铁方解石、铁白云石)多附着在碎屑边缘呈加大边出现,染色有明显变化;灰岩、云岩碎屑在阴极射线下发桔黄色光。碳酸盐岩碎屑的分布具有近源粒度粗、含量低、分选差、磨圆差、均质差;远源粒度细、含量高、分选好、磨圆好、均质好;浅埋粒形好、深埋压溶强的特征。物源区发育的古老碳酸盐岩地层,干旱、炎热、近咸化的古气候、古水体环境,近源快速堆积的古地理环境是碳酸盐岩碎屑的主要成因。碳酸盐岩碎屑的识别和量化具有重要的地质意义:其减孔效应明显低于胶结物,可有效解释高含量碳酸盐高物性砂岩成因,其分布是界定沉积物源区的有效证据。 相似文献

对比研究表明,内蒙古"宝音图隆起"和狼山地区的古元古代宝音图岩群与新太古代色尔腾山岩群都是由中低级变质的各种片岩、大理岩组成,一致的岩石组合和变质相暗示二者可能是等同物而不是两个岩群.以物探资料为据的构造研究也证实,"宝音图隆起"与狼山地区之间并无槽-台级的大型断裂构造分开,二者实为统一的构造整体而不是分属槽台,只因两侧被两条近于平行的NE向断裂围限,使其总构造线方向呈NE或NNE向而与色尔腾山的构造线不同.结论认为,"宝音图隆起"仍是华北陆块的一部分,不属于内蒙古-大兴安岭地槽褶皱系. 相似文献

ABSTRACTThe Upper Triassic Langjiexue Group, which lies immediately south of the Yarlung-Tsangpo Suture Zone in the Shannan area of southeastern Tibet, represents an important part of the Tethyan Himalayan Sequence (THS). Its provenance and palaeogeography have been the subject of debate. We present new data on petrographic composition, whole-rock geochemistry, and detrital zircon U–Pb geochronology to constrain the provenance of the Langjiexue Group. The dominance of quartz grains and felsic volcanic lithic fragments suggests that the sandstones are litho-quartzose. The trace element geochemical signatures (V–Ni–Th*10, Co/Th–La/Sc, Eu/Eu*–Th/Sc) suggest derivation from felsic igneous sources. The detrital zircon age spectra display three major peaks: a Meso-to-Neoproterozoic peak (1200–900 Ma, 7–18%), a Neoproterozoic-to-Late Cambrian peak (750–500 Ma, 32–65%), and a Late Carboniferous-to-Late Triassic peak (300–200 Ma, 11–33%). The maximum depositional age of early Carnian (236–235 Ma) is obtained by calculating weighted average ages of the youngest zircons (≤250 Ma). The youngest age cluster (300–200 Ma) is incompatible with sources from neighbouring terranes, including the South Qiangtang terrane, Lhasa terrane, THS, and Higher Himalayan Crystalline. Correlations of the Permian–Triassic zircons with those of time-equivalent strata in northwest Australia, west Burma, and the Banda Arc unveil a potential connection to the Tasmanides along the convergent margin of eastern Australia. The New England Orogen (300–230 Ma) could have supplied the Langjiexue Group with magmatic materials via continent-scale drainage systems or a submarine fan complex. 河南嵩县南部熊耳群古火山构造保存完整,喷发旋回清晰,火山岩相及爆发相主要岩石种类齐全.其主要喷发类型为裂隙式喷发,次为中心式喷发,主要受区域基底断裂控制,且沿区域切壳深大断裂带呈串珠状分布.表明基底断裂→火山喷发带→区域断裂带是一个连续发展的过程.区内金及部分有色金属矿产与熊耳群古火山活动密切关联,古火山口爆发角砾岩产出地段是寻找该类型金矿的最佳地段,受古火山构造控制的古火山口及其周边的中性、酸性次火山岩脉(墙),是寻找钼、金、铅锌多金属矿产的有利部位. 相似文献
