High-resolution climate variability of southwest China during 57-70 ka reflected in a stalagmite δ18O record from Xinya Cave

A 26-cm-long stalagmite (XY2) from Xinya Cave in northeastern Chongqing of China has been ICP-MS ²³⁰Th/U dated, showing a depositional hiatus at 2.3 cm depth from the top. The growth of the 2.3–26 cm interval determined by four dates was between 57 ka and 70 ka, with a linear growth rate of 0.023 mm/a. We have analyzed 190 samples for δ ¹⁸O and δ ¹³C, mostly in the 2.3–26 cm part. The δ ¹⁸O and δ ¹³C values between 57 ka and 70 ka reveal decadal-to-centennial climatic variability during the glacial interval of Marine Isotope Stage 4 (MIS4), exhibiting much higher resolution than that of the published Hulu and Dongge records during this interval. Speleothem δ ¹⁸O in eastern China, including our study area can be used as a proxy of summer monsoon strength, with lighter values pointing to stronger summer monsoon and higher precipitation, and vice versa. Two decreases in the δ ¹⁸O signature of XY2 record around 59.5 and 64.5 Ka are argued to correspond to the Dansgaard-Oeschger (D-O) events 17 and 18 respectively. The Heinrich event 6 (H6) can be identified in the record as a heavy δ ¹⁸O peak around 60 ka, indicating significant weakening of the monsoon in Chongqing during the cold period. The XY2 δ ¹⁸O record shows very rapid change toward to the interstadial condition of the D-O event, but more gradual change toward to the cold stadial condition. This phenomenon found in the Greenland ice core records is rarely observed so clearly in previously published speleothem records. According to SPECMAP δ ¹⁸O record, the glacial maximum of MIS 4 was around 64.5 ka with the boundary of MIS 3/4 around 60 ka. Unlike the marine record, the speleothem record of XY2, China, exhibits much high frequency variations without an apparent glacial maximum during MIS 4. However, the timing of MIS 3/4 boundary seems to be around 60 ka when the H6 terminated, in agreement with the marine chronology. The growth period of sample XY2 during glacial times probably reflects a local karstic routing of water, rather than having climatic significance. 岩石矿物及粉尘中游离二氧化硅的测定

改进了游离二氧化硅（fSiO2)测定中试样的分解方法，采用硫－磷混酸替代单独使用磷酸分解试样，防止了焦磷酸盐的形成，同时，氟硼酸对fSiO2的溶解率符合测定要求。改进的方法用于标准物质中fSiO2的测定，结果与标准值或磷酸溶矿重量法相符。对于ω(fSiO2)=3.26%的标样10次测定的RSD为2．4％。     

2—（2，3，5—三氮唑偶氮）—1，8—二羟基—3，6—萘二磺酸与钴的显色反应及应用

介绍了新水溶性显色剂 2 - ( 2 ,3,5 -三氮唑偶氮 ) - 1 ,8-二羟基 - 3,6-萘二磺酸与钴的显色反应及应用 ,建立了测定钴的新方法。在 pH 9.9的Na2 B4O7 NaOH缓冲液中该试剂与钴形成 1∶1蓝色稳定络合物 ,λmax为 5 88.8nm ,Co的质量浓度在 0～ 1 .0mg/L内符合比尔定律 ,表观摩尔吸光系数为 3.46× 1 0 4 L·mol- 1 ·cm- 1 。所拟方法用于环境水样及维生素B1 2 注射液中的微量钴测定 ,结果与原子吸收法相符 ,5次测定的RSD <1 %。     

铁路水害信息管理系统

本文介绍了在VB中用OLE技术开发Mapinfo应用系统的基本方法，对铁路水害信息管理系统开发中碰到的问题和取得的经验进行了较详细的描述，对GIS系统数据的动态更新提出了独特的见解和解决方案，并就单机GIS系统平台开发广域网上的应用系统的经验进行了介绍。     

Self‐purification in Upland and Lowland Streams

Ecological investigations at four streams in Saxony‐Anhalt have shown that there are considerable differences between the self‐purification power of upland and lowland streams. This result is reflected in chemistry and in microbiology. The structure of the bottom substrate mainly influences the degree of self‐purification in connection with rate of flow and flow velocity. The results and differences are demonstrated using the example of Katzsohlbach in the landscape unit “Mittel‐ and Unterharz” and the stream Olbe in the landscape unit “Magdeburger Börde”.     

Oxidation Experiment of Natural Megacrystal Clinopyroxene: Implications for Assignment of Mössbauer Spectra

The Mössbauer spectra of natural megacrystal clinopyroxene are usually fitted by 4 sets of symmetric doublets, A‐A', B‐B', C‐C' and D‐D', respectively, in terms of increasing Qs value in literature. But the assignments of those doublets are quite different, except the D‐D' doublet assigned to Fe³⁺at the lattice site M***1 in previous papers. Particularly, the assignment and interpretation of the C‐C' doublet are diverse. The oxidation experiments of natural megacrystal clinopyroxene collected from the Hannuoba basalt, North China, were performed under controlled conditions of temperature at 1000°C and oxygen fugacity of FMQ buffer in 1, 2, ***3 and 5 days respectively. The oxidized samples were then measured by X‐ray diffraction spectrometry and Mössbauer spectrometry. The oxidation of clinopyroxene is characterized by Fe²⁺ → Fe³⁺at M1 under the subsolidus conditions, which is consistent with the increase of the area of the D‐D' doublet when the heating time increases. Accordingly, the area of the A‐A' and B‐B' doublets decreases with the increasing heating time. However, the area of C‐C' keeps almost constant. Therefore, the 4 sets of doublets can be assigned correctly as follows: A‐A' doublet to Fe⁺²at M1, B‐B' Fe²⁺at M1, C‐C' Fe²⁺at M2, and D‐D' Fe³⁺at M1. The M1 site splitting is due to the NNN (Next Nearest Neighbour) effect of the M2 site. The amount of Fe³⁺at the tetrohedral site of megacrystal clinopyroxene is negligible according to this study.     

The use of sintered diamond anvils in the MA8 type high-pressure apparatus

A new multi-anvil type high-presure apparatus has been developed using sintered diamond anvils to generate pressures over 30 GPa and temperatures up to about 2000°C. A maximum sample volume of about 1 mm³ is available in this system. The pressure was confirmed by dissociation of forsterite into Mg-perovskite and periclase. The basic techniques and problems in utilizing sintered diamond in the MA8 type high-pressure apparatus are discussed with an emphasis on the future prospect of incorporating simultancous X-ray diffraction observation.     

利用IRS-P6卫星数据制作遥感影像地图

本文介绍了以IRS-P6卫星数据作为信息源完成大兴安岭林区的遥感影像地图制作的方法, 通过试验初步认识到:利用IRS-P6卫星数据制作遥感影像地图,可以满足1:50000、 1:25000比例尺的平面制图精度要求,在一些专业和专题应用中可以放大到1:15000比例尺使用。
