Summary. This review is primarily directed to the question whether photometric solar analogues remain such when subjected to detailed
spectroscopic analyses and interpreted with the help of internal stucture models. In other words, whether the physical parameters:
mass, chemical composition, age (determining effective temperature and luminosity), chromospheric activity, equatorial rotation,
lithium abundance, velocity fields etc., we derive from the spectral analysis of a photometric solar analogue, are really
close to those of the Sun. We start from 109 photometric solar analogues extracted from different authors. The stars selected
had to satisfy three conditions: i) their colour index must be contained in the interval: –0.69, ii) they must possess a trigonometric parallax, iii) they must have undergone a high resolution detailed spectroscopic
analysis. First, this review presents photometric and spectrophotometric researches on solar analogues and recalls the pionneering
work on these stars by the late Johannes Hardorp. After a brief discussion on low and high resolution spectroscopic researches,
a comparison is made between effective temperatures as obtained, directly, from detailed spectral analyses and those obtained,
indirectly, from different photometric relations. An interesting point in this review is the discussion on the tantalilizing
value of the of the Sun, and the presentation of a new reliable value of this index. A short restatement of the kinematic properties of
the sample of solar analogues is also made. And, finally, the observational diagram, obtained with 99 of the initially presented 109 analogues, is compared to a theoretical diagram. This latter has been constructed with a grid of internal structure models for which, (very important for this investigation),
the Sun was used as gauge. In analysing the position, with respect to the Sun, of each star we hoped to find a certain number
of stars tightly neighbouring the Sun in mass, chemical composition and state of evolution. The surprising result is that
the stars occupy in this HR Diagram a rather extended region around the Sun, many of them seem more evolved and older than
the Sun, and only 4 of the evolved stars seem younger. The age of some stars in the sample is also discussed in terms of chromospheric
activity and Li-content. Our conclusion is much the same as that contained in previous papers we have written on the subject:
in spite of a much larger number of stars, we have not been able to nominate a single star of the sample for a “perfect good
solar twin”. Another aim in beginning, 25 years ago, this search for solar analogues, was to have ready a bunch of stars resembling
the Sun and analysed spectroscopically in detail, in order that, when planets hunters of solar type stars, finally would have
found such a specimen, we would have been able to immediately compare the physical parameters of this star to those of the
Sun. We have been lucky enough: one of the good solar analogues we present herewith, is 51 Pegasi (HD 217014) which, according
to the very recent observations by Mayor and Queloz (1995), has a planet orbiting around it. And what is more: two other
stars possessing planets: 47 Ursae Majoris (HD 95128) and 70 Virginis (HD 117176), have just been discovered by Marcy and
Butler (187 Meeting of the AAS, January 1996). One of them, 47 Ursae Majoris, is also included in the list of photometric solar analogues.
The other star, 70 Virginis, has only been included after the “Planets News”, because the colour index of this star is slightly higher than the prescribted limit of the selection, (, instead, 0.69). It would have been a pity to leave the third ” planet star out of the competition. 相似文献

Flexibility is an important adaptive attribute of the feeding periodicity of grazing mayfly larvae because most natural environments offer a wide variation in local predation risk in terms of space, time or predator species. In this study any changes of diel feeding periodicity and consumption rates of Baetis rhodani (Ephemeroptera) were analysed in response to different densities of benthivorous fish (Barbatula barbatula, Gobio gobio) by quantifying gut fullness using the fluorescence of algal pigments. Laboratory experiments with the grazer species B. rhodani were conducted by using different concentrations of chemical fish cues. In order to assess the transferability of the results to a larger scale, the experimental results were compared with field observations in two second order streams using different densities of freely foraging benthivorous fish. During the presence of chemical fish cues in the laboratory experiments the feeding periodicity of the B. rhodani larvae were mostly diurnal while in the absence of fish chemicals nocturnal feeding was observed. The same patterns could be detected in the field during the experiments with the different fish densities. These findings indicate that the larvae were able to assess variations in the predation risk and to alter their feeding habits by making flexible behavioural adjustments. The results from the laboratory experiments further suggested that the behavioural response is controlled by fish density. Behavioural changes were observed for medium and high concentrations of the fish cues but not for a very low concentration. In the field however, the mere presence of fish seemed to be sufficient to induce the observed behavioural shifts. Although the presence of benthivorous fish seemed to cause a lower consumption rate of the B. rhodani larvae in the field, such a reduction could not be found in the laboratory experiments. A conclusion from this study is that the identification of behavioural modifications is an essential component needed for a better understanding of complex trophic interactions in benthic communities. Accurate evaluation and detailed observation of direct and indirect effects cannot be made without the consideration of such behavioural mechanisms. 相似文献

The Late Miocene lacustrine Acıgöl Basin, SW Turkey, formed as an orogen-top, extensional half-graben, with the subaqueous accommodation controlled by the lake level and the bulk accommodation provided by active subsidence along a WSW-trending normal fault at the basin's southern margin. The basin-fill sedimentary succession consists of terminal alluvial-fan facies overlain by ephemeral lake-margin facies and perennial lake facies, with widespread fluvial facies at the top. The distal alluvial-fan facies include massive to stratified sandstones and massive mudstones with intervening nodular dolostones and incipient pedogenic horizons. The lake-margin facies are micritic magnesites passing laterally into peloidal, irregularly laminated magnesites towards the palaeolake margin and overlain by marlstones and dolostones, all with abundant evidence of episodic subaerial exposure (desiccation cracks, pedogenic features, and tepee structures). The perennial lake facies are micritic magnesites passing upwards into clayey dolostones and dolomitic or clayey marlstones. The fluvial facies capping the succession include planar cross-stratified conglomerates (channel-fill deposits), planar parallel-stratified, planar cross-stratified and rippled cross-laminated sandstones (crevasse-fill and crevasse splay deposits), and assemblages of mudstones intercalated with thin sandstone beds (overbank floodplain deposits).The sedimentological, mineralogical and geochemical data reveal large variations in the basin's hydrological regime, including short-term oscillations and bulk rise of the lake level, periodical changes in the Mg/Ca ratio and terrigenous mud supply, and a negative covariance of δ18O and δ13C fluctuations. The composition of terrigenous sediment and the chemistry of water supplied to the lake were controlled by the weathering, chemical leaching and erosion of the ultramafic–dolomitic bedrock in the catchment area. The bedrock yielded Mg-rich carbonate solutions that caused the deposition of Mg-carbonates in the lake.Despite short-term lake-level fluctuations, the lake's net water budget remained positive. It is suggested that the region's present-day climate and Mg-rich alkaline lakes can serve as an analogue for the climatic and hydrological conditions in the Late Miocene Acıgöl Basin. 相似文献

Along with the increase of population and extraordinary economic and social development, human appropriation of freshwater supply increases rapidly. Anthropogenic activities have become an important driving factor of the large-scale terrestrial water cycle. The hydrological effects of human water use have attracted growing attention. In this paper, we briefly reviewed the recent studies addressing the anthropogenic disturbance of the large-scale terrestrial water cycle. The review focused on the direct alteration of the water cycle for human needs, with special coverage for the primary aspects of human water use such as irrigation, domestic and industrial water use, reservoir regulation and groundwater mining. The state-of-the-art parameterization schemes of human water use for macroscale land surface hydrological modeling were introduced and the limitations of the schemes were discussed. Considering the impacts of human water use on the terrestrial water cycle is currently a challenge for macroscale land surface hydrological modeling, which hinders the use of the models in assessing water resources under changing environment. Further studies are needed to understand the interactions between human and water systems, to develop integrated assessment model of coupled human-water systems, and to assess regional and global water security. 相似文献

针对风沙运动中结皮冲蚀破坏及其寿命问题,通过建立沙粒对结皮的冲蚀模型,采用量纲分析研究风沙运动中单颗沙粒对结皮冲蚀量与沙粒冲击速度、沙粒自旋角速度、沙粒直径、沙粒入射角、结皮硬度等的本构关系,并对结皮冲蚀破坏机理及其寿命预测进行理论研究。数值计算结果表明,沙粒冲击速度、沙粒自旋角速度、沙粒冲击角度、沙粒直径及沙尘暴日数、持续时间都对结皮寿命有明显影响。统计分析各项影响因素的平均值计算表明,在结皮厚度20mm的情况下,结皮寿命为3~8年,平均寿命5.3年。此研究可以更深刻认识结皮的自然破坏特征,对防沙固沙具有一定的理论意义和实际应用价值。 相似文献

Recent chemical accidents precipitated by natural disasters have prompted governments in the United States, Japan, and Europe,
among other countries, to re-evaluate current practices in the design and risk management of industrial facilities. This paper
presents an overview of natural hazard design considerations and external events risk management requirements in the industrial
sector, with particular emphasis on industrial practices in the United States, Japan, and Europe. The analysis shows that
although regulations exist to ensure industrial plant structures are built to resist natural hazards (up to the design level),
there are few laws to address the performance of non-structural elements and safety and emergency response measures during
a natural disaster. Laws usually also refer to natural hazards only indirectly, and provisions to prevent or respond to simultaneous
disasters from single or multiple sources concurrent with the natural disaster are usually not present.

Two main routes of methods for the preparation of photocatalytic active titanium dioxide films on glass substrates were investigated: (1) the use of titanium dioxide powder and (2) the in situ generation of the catalyst via hydrolysis of titanium tetraisopropoxide (TTIP) or TiCl4. The activities of the catalyst films were evaluated by measuring the degradation of dichloroacetic acid (DCA), clofibric acid, and terbuthylazine used as model organic compounds. The concentration decrease of DCA and the concentration increase of chloride ions as the decomposition product allowed to distinguish between photocatalytic degradation of DCA and adsorption onto the TiO2 films. Furthermore, TiO2 films of the commercially available materials P25 (Degussa) and Hombikat UV100 (Sachtleben Chemie) were used to investigate whether there was a difference in the degradation pathways of terbuthylazine as a model compound. For the experiments mini flow‐through reactors were constructed. The investigated immobilization techniques were easy to handle without need of any expensive equipment. All TiO2 coatings showed good photocatalytic activities and mechanical stabilities with efficient long‐term stabilities. The best immobilization reproducibility was achieved by the spray coating technique and by the in situ method with the dipping sol‐gel process starting by TTIP. During the continuous use of the TiO2 films no TiO2 particles were found in the irradiated solutions. 相似文献

To investigate the effects of Spartina alterniflora on heavy metals pollution of intertidal sediments, sediment cores of a S. alterniflora salt marsh and a mudflat in Bohai Bay, China were analyzed. The results showed that S. alterniflora caused higher total C and P, but lower bulk density and electrical conductivity. The levels of Cd, Cu and Pb were higher in S. alterniflora sediment. Both Cd and Zn were higher than the probable effect level at both sites, indicating their toxicological importance. The geo-accumulation and potential ecological risk indexes revealed higher metal contamination in S. alterniflora sediment. Multivariate analysis implied that anthropogenic activities altered mobility and bioavailability of heavy metals. The percentage of mobile heavy metals was higher in S. alterniflora sediment, indicating improvement of conversion from the immobilized fraction to the mobilized fraction. These findings indicate that S. alterniflora may facilitate accumulation of heavy metals and increase their bioavailability and mobility. 相似文献

Results from the measurement of microweight loss of Magnesian Limestone rock tablets placed at the soil–bedrock interface on a hillslope over 10 years (1982–1992) gave the same relative pattern of upslope increase in weight loss as did short-term measurements (1979–1981), but the absolute values were an order of magnitude lower (0·01–0·03 per cent per year long term and 0·1–0·6 per cent per year short term). Microweighed rock tablets may therefore give unreliable absolute rates and can only be used to indicate relative spatial differences rather than to give reliable data on temporal changes. 相似文献
