The hydrofracturing technique has developed into a reliable and practical method for determining the original three-dimensional crustal stress state of underground caverns,the load-bearing capacity of a high pressure cavern itself,and the high pressure hydraulic permeability of rock masses,and has also been extensively used in disposal of nuclear waste,long and deeply-buried traffic channels and high-pressure cavern engineering for hydraulic power plants.The practice shows that the comprehensive measurement of the physical parameters of the rock mass and taking full use of the wall rock load-bearing capacity to optimize the engineering design hold are very useful in ensuring the engineering safety and improving the design level. 相似文献

The voluminous gravity and magnetic data sets demand automatic interpretation techniques like Naudy, Euler and Werner deconvolution.
Of these techniques, the Euler deconvolution has become a popular choice because the method assumes no particular geological
model. However, the conventional approach to solving Euler equation requires tentative values of the structural index preventing
it from being fully automatic and assumes a constant background that can be easily violated if the singular points are close
to each other. We propose a possible solution to these problems by simultaneously estimating the source location, depth and
structural index assuming nonlinear background. The Euler equation is solved in a nonlinear fashion using the optimization
technique like conjugate gradient. This technique is applied to a published synthetic data set where the magnetic anomalies
were modeled for a complex assemblage of simple magnetic bodies. The results for close by singular points are superior to
those obtained by assuming linear background. We also applied the technique to a magnetic data set collected along the western
continental margin of India. The results are in agreement with the regional magnetic interpretation and the bathymetric expressions. 相似文献

This paper deals with the investigation of the effect of surface stress and conductivity on the propagation of surface wave
in isotropic, homogeneous, elastic media under the action of a primary magnetic field. Formulation of the general surface
wave propagation problem has been made, and the corresponding frequency equation has been derived. Frequency equations for
Rayleigh wave, surface shear wave and Stoneley wave have been deduced from that of general surface wave as special cases.
The effects of surface stress and magnetic field on the wave velocities and attenuation factors of Rayleigh wave and surface
shear wave are shown by numerical calculations and graphs. Some important wave velocity equations, as obtained by other authors,
have been deduced as special cases from the wave velocity equation for Stoneley wave. It is found that the combined effect
of surface stress and magnetic field modulates the wave velocity ratios and attenuation factors of Rayleigh wave and surface

The Khanaser Valley was geoelectrically thoroughly surveyed through a grid which consisted of twelve VES profiles. The tectonically-oriented
Pichgin and Habibullaev method was enhanced to be applicable in areas of rugged relief and topography. The enhanced profiles
were tectonically interpreted and subsurface structures within the Khanaser Valley were delineated. Accordingly, a tectonic
evolutional scenario of the valley was established and its hydrogeological characteristics were derived. An approach for groundwater
exploration in areas of prominent relief and topography in dry areas such as the Khanaser Valley was established and its validity

Measurements of topsoil magnetic susceptibility are often used for quick assessment of soil contamination of anthropogenic
origin, with heavy metals or other pollutants. However, because of complicated correlations between low-field magnetic susceptibility
(shortened to magnetic susceptibility) of topsoil and soil pollution, the outcome of a field magnetometry survey can not be
related directly to soil pollution. For each case study, the results should be interpreted on their own taking into account
not only the type of pollution but also pedogenic, biogenic and environmental factors. In practice, it is very difficult to
measure and consider all these factors. Here we illustrate the merit of geostatistical methods, which are focused on the spatial
variability of a phenomenon, in the interpretation of soil magnetometry results.
This article presents the analysis of spatial variability of top soil layers magnetic susceptibility-within the Upper Silesia
Industrial Region (USIR)-using semivariance analysis. It also explains how to adjust the sampling density of field magnetometry
measurements to spatial variability of the soil pollution as well as to the spatial scale of the investigated area. For this
purpose, the values of magnetic susceptibility have been measured by using various sampling densities at areas of different
size located within USIR. This enabled to determine the main scales of magnetic susceptibility spatial variability of soils
within USIR using semivariance. A few distinct scales of variability were found from the site scale to a more regional scale.
Variability ranges of 30 km, 12 km, and 5 km refer to the large regional scale, whereas smaller ranges of few hundreds down
to a few tens of meters, can be attributed to the local (site) scale. In addition, the precision of the measuring campaigns,
performed within USIR with different sampling densities, was compared through the analysis of the spatial variability of the
soil magnetic susceptibility signal by using ordinary kriging.

It has been known for many years that dispersivity increases with solute travel distance in a subsurface environment. The increase of dispersivity with solute travel distance results from the significant variation of hydraulic properties of heterogeneous media and was identified in the literature as scale-dependent dispersion. This study presents an analytical solution for describing two-dimensional non-axisymmetrical solute transport in a radially convergent flow tracer test with scale-dependent dispersion. The power series technique coupling with the Laplace and finite Fourier cosine transform has been applied to yield the analytical solution to the two-dimensional, scale-dependent advection–dispersion equation in cylindrical coordinates with variable-dependent coefficients. Comparison between the breakthrough curves of the power series solution and the numerical solutions shows excellent agreement at different observation points and for various ranges of scale-related transport parameters of interest. The developed power series solution facilitates fast prediction of the breakthrough curves at any observation point. 相似文献

Initiation and evolution of a large karst depression population consisting of parent and daughter dolines were spatially and temporally modeled using logistic growth functions. Logistic growth models are well suited for analyzing doline population initiation and evolution because they reflect the density‐dependent growth mechanisms present in the evolution of karst depressions. Seven assumptions based upon previous studies were refined into mathematical statements and tested using more than 2000 dolines from a subpopulation of both parent and daughter karst depressions on the Western Highland Rim and Pennyroyal Plain of Tennessee and Kentucky. Logistic growth models quantify the initiation and evolution of doline populations and interface well with recent models describing the evolution of three‐dimensional conduit systems. Logistic growth models should apply to modeling other doline populations in karst terranes with hydraulically efficient, three‐dimensional conduit systems. Fire has long been recognized as an agent of rock weathering. Our understanding of the impact of fire on stone comes either from early anecdotal evidence, or from more recent laboratory simulation studies, using furnaces to simulate the effects of fire. This paper suggests that knowledge derived from simulated heating experiments is based on the pre‐conceptions of the experiment designer – when using a furnace to simulate fire, the operator decides on the maximum temperature and the duration of the experiment. These are key factors in determining the response of the stone to fire, and if these are removed from real‐world observations then knowledge based on these simulations must be questioned. To explore the differences between heating sandstone in a furnace and a real fire, sample blocks of Peakmoor Sandstone were subjected to different stress histories in combination (lime rendering and removal, furnace heating or fire, frost and salt weathering). Block response to furnace heating and fire is discussed, with emphasis placed on the non‐uniformity of the fire and of block response to fire in contrast to the uniform response to surface heating in a furnace. Subsequent response to salt weathering (by a 10% solution of sodium chloride and magnesium sulphate) was then monitored by weight loss. Blocks that had experienced fire showed a more unpredictable response to salt weathering than those that had undergone furnace heating – spalling of corners and rapid catastrophic weight loss were evidenced in blocks that had been subjected to fire, after periods of relative quiescence. An important physical side‐effect of the fire was soot accumulation, which created a waxy, relatively impermeable layer on some blocks. This layer repelled water and hindered salt ingress, but eventually detached when salt, able to enter the substrate through more permeable areas, concentrated and crystallized behind it, resulting in rapid weight loss and accelerated decay. A numerical model (two horizontal dimensions, vertically integrated) is used to investigate the generation of long ocean waves, ranging from 20 min to almost 2 h, at Buenos Aires continental shelf. The domain includes the Río de la Plata estuary and the continental shelf together and extends from 33.5° to 40.5°S latitude, and from 51° to 63°W longitude. Sea-level oscillations are modeled by forcing with passage of atmospheric cold fronts and atmospheric gravity waves. Both forcing mechanisms, which have been present during high activity lapses of long ocean waves, are mathematically implemented. After several numerical simulations, it is concluded that the pressure and wind fields associated to cold fronts do not generate long ocean waves in the area, though they do produce disturbances with periods longer than the tidal ones. On the other hand, it is so concluded that atmospheric gravity waves are an effective mechanism to force long ocean waves. Results obtained show that generation of long ocean waves is highly sensitive depending on the propagation direction and the phase speed of the atmospheric gravity waves. The long ocean wave event detected during the large-amplitude gravity-wave event of 13 October 1985 is successfully simulated. Finally, all our results suggest that atmospheric gravity waves are a highly effective mechanism forcing for the generation of long ocean waves in Buenos Aires coastal waters. 相似文献

利用 1 991 - 0 7- 0 5T2 0— 0 6T2 0一次江淮梅雨锋暴雨过程实况资料 ,结合地面降水分布 ,从定性 (矢量场 ,即 Q)、定量 (散度场 ,即 2 · Q)的角度细致、具体地比较分析了准地转 Q矢量、半地转 Q矢量、非地转 Q矢量及湿 Q矢量的诊断特性。结果表明 :半地转 Q矢量诊断能力优越于准地转 Q矢量。非地转 Q矢量、湿 Q矢量诊断能力明显优越于准地转 Q矢量、半地转 Q矢量。准地转 Q矢量诊断能力最差 ;从定性的角度分析 ,非地转 Q矢量与湿 Q矢量诊断能力相差不大。但进一步定量分析发现 ,在整个梅雨锋暴雨过程中 ,湿 Q矢量的诊断能力大于其他 Q矢量 ;70 0 h Pa高度上各 Q矢量的矢量、散度辐合区较其在 850 h Pa和 50 0 h Pa上对降水反映更好 ,尤其是70 0 h Pa湿 Q矢量散度辐合区与降水区有非常好的对应关系。 相似文献
