Empirical distributions of galactic λ spin parameters from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey

Using simple dimensional arguments for both spiral and elliptical galaxies, we present formulae to derive an estimate of the halo spin parameter λ for any real galaxy, in terms of common observational parameters. This allows a rough estimate of λ, which we apply to a large volume-limited sample of galaxies taken from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey data base. The large numbers involved (11 597) allow the derivation of reliable λ distributions, as signal adds up significantly in spite of the errors in the inferences for particular galaxies. We find that if the observed distribution of λ is modelled with a lognormal function, as often done for this distribution in dark matter haloes that appear in cosmological simulations, we obtain parameters  λ₀= 0.04 ± 0.005  and  σ_λ= 0.51 ± 0.05  , interestingly consistent with values derived from simulations. For spirals, we find a good correlation between empirical values of λ and visually assigned Hubble types, highlighting the potential of this physical parameter as an objective classification tool.     

Geochemical Characteristics of a Veinlet Kupferschiefer Profile from the Lubin Mine, Southwestern Poland

Previous studies have shown that the ascending, oxidizing brines play a very important role in Kupferschiefer mineralization. Fractures could be the pathway of the brines. In order to clarify the influences of the brines on bulk organic matter, aromatic hydrocarbons and Kupferschiefer mineralization, one veinlet Kupferschiefer profile from the Lubin mine, southwestern Poland was studied with the microscopic, geochemical and Rock-Eval methods. The microscopic results indicate that organic matter of the veinlet sample consists dominantly of bitumen. Its extract content is higher than in other samples. The dominant aromatic compounds are naphthalene and alkylated naphthalenes (Na-PAH), which have migrated into the veinlet sample from other sediments. The content of phenanthrene and its methylated derivatives (Ph-PAH) is much lower than in other samples. The reason may be due to their heavier mass than Na-PAH. 在VTI介质中，用非双曲线可以很好地近似P－P波中长排列情况下的旅行时；而对P－SV波来说，应用非双曲线却不能很好地近似P－SV波的施行时。对P－P波、P－SV波的旅行时进行三项泰勒展开时，它们的系数却包含了地震波的各向异性信息及其垂直速度信息，这为地震波的弹性参数反演提供了基础。实验分析表明，在中等排列长度下可以精确地得到了P－P波，P－SV波旅行时的三项泰勒展式系数，从而可以精确地进行地层弹性参数反演。     

成都数字遥测地震台网的地震参数测定

对数字地震台用不同处理方法所给出的地震基本参数进行了对比，同时还对数字地震台网测定的地震参数与模拟地震台网测定的地震参数进行了对比。     

用地下水化学动力学方法计算出的水文地质参数来定量评价水文地质条件——以太原三给地垒及周围地区为例

作者根据研究区内剖分获得429个结点的原始资料，分别计算出K，T,u,U,t等5个水文地质参数各429个，利用计算结果，编制K值和T值分区图及地下水循环条件图，对研究区水文地质条件进行了定量评价，该方法为其它岩溶区水文地质条件进行定量评价提供了一条有效的新途径。

哈尔滨地区积雨云降水微结构特征

1999年5－7月，采用PMS公司生产的GBPP－100型地面雨滴谱仪，对哈尔滨地区各镒降水过程进行了观测。本文对其中的7次雷雨过程进行重点分析，得到积雨云降水的雨滴谱分布、微结构以及起伏特征等一些有意义的结果。
