The incorporation of hydrogen into ferrosilite, Fe-bearing enstatite and orthopyroxene containing different trivalent cations (Cr3+ and Al3+, Cr3+ and Fe3+) was investigated experimentally at 25 kbar. Hydrogen concentration was determined by FTIR-spectroscopy on oriented crystal sections and by secondary ion mass spectroscopy, whereas Mößbauer spectroscopy and optical spectroscopy were used to characterise the valence state of Fe in orthopyroxene. Results suggest that hydrogen incorporation in ferrosilite is achieved by a similar mechanism as in pure enstatite. In Cr-bearing samples, however, hydrogen incorporation is reduced by the presence of other trivalent cations by an increased tendency to form Tschermaks substitutions, e.g. Si T 4+ + Mg M1 2+ ? Al T 3+ + Cr M1 3+ . Thus, hydrogen solubility in natural orthopyroxenes from the Earth’s mantle, containing significant amounts of Cr3+, Al3+, and Fe3+, may be much more limited than expected from their trivalent cation content, as a large fraction of the trivalent cations does not participate in H-incorporating reactions as 2 Mg M1 2+ ? The evident effects of the thermal anomalies over the Tibetan Plateau (TP) and its vicinities are summarized and discussed in this paper. By the singular value decomposition (SVD) technique and numerical simulations of the effect of the snow depth anomaly over the TP, it is shown that the snow depth anomaly, especially in winter, is one of the factors influencing precipitation in China, and the winter snow anomaly is more important than the spring one. The relations between the sensible heat anomaly over the TP and the intensity of the South China Sea summer monsoon (SCSSM) are studied, too, and two key areas of the sensible heat anomaly over the TP are found. The relationships between the South Asia High (SAH). and the precipitation in the years with typical droughts or floods in the mid to lower valleys of the Yangtze River (MLVYR) and North China are investigated in some detail. It is found that not only the intensity of the SAH over the TP, but also the 100-hPa height in a large area influences the precipitation in the above two regions. The effects of the SAH on the onsets of the tropical Asian summer monsoon (TASM) including the SCSSM and the tropical Indian summer monsoon (TISM) are studied as well. It is found that the onset times of both the SCSSM and the TISM are highly dependent upon the latitudinal position of the SAH center.  相似文献

The high-pressure behaviour of millerite NiS up to 34.7 GPa was studied using single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. Under ambient pressure, 8.3, 19.2 and 26.8 GPa crystal-structure determinations were performed. No phase transition was observed and the fit of the Birch-Murnaghan equation of state gave a bulk modulus K=111(1) GPa and a pressure derivative K=5.0(1) at high pressure and room temperature. The high-temperature modification of NiS belongs to the NiAs type and has the smaller volume per formula unit. High-pressure–high-temperature X-ray diffraction studies on NiS powder indicate that the transition temperature is strongly dependent on pressure. Owing to the higher compressibility of millerite compared with that of the high-temperature phase, it is assumed that the NiAs-type is not the stable phase at high pressures.  相似文献

To fill temporal gaps in iron-enrichment experimental data and gain further understanding of marine ecosystem responses to iron enrichments, we apply a fifteen-compartment ecosystem model to three iron-enrichment sites, namely SEEDS (the Subarctic Pacific Iron Experiment for Ecosystem Dynamics Study; 48.5°N, 165°E) in the western North Pacific, SOIREE (the Southern Ocean Iron RElease Experiment; 61°S, 140°E) in the Southern Ocean, and IronExII (the second mesoscale iron enrichment experiment; 3.5°S, 104°W) in the Equatorial Pacific. The ecological effects of iron in the model are represented by changing two photosynthetic parameters during the iron-enrichment period. The model results successfully reproduce the observed biogeochemical responses inside and outside the iron patch at each site, such as rapid increases in plankton biomass and biological productivity, and decreases in surface nutrients and pCO2, inside the patch. However, the modeled timing and magnitude of changes differ among the sites because of differences in both physical environments and plankton species. After the iron enrichment, the diatom productivity is strongly controlled by light at SOIREE and by silicate at IronExII and SEEDS. Light limitation due to self-shading by the phytoplankton is significant during the bloom at all sites. Sensitivity analysis of the model results to duration of the iron enrichment reveals that long-term multiple infusions over more than a week would not be effective at SEEDS because of strong silicate limitation on diatom growth. Sensitivity of the model to water temperature shows that export production is higher at lower temperatures, because of slower recycling of particulate organic carbon. Therefore, the e-ratio (the ratio of export production to primary production) is inversely correlated with temperature, and the relationship can be described with a linear function. Through this study, we conclude that ecosystem modeling is a powerful tool to help design future iron-enrichment experiments and observational plans.  相似文献

在分析了多波束测深系统测量误差来源的基础上,讨论了多波柬测深系统静态精度、相对精度和绝对精度的系统精度评估方法。采用的静态精度评估方法就是在多波柬测深系统静止的条件下考核其对同一位置测量深度的误差;相对精度评估方法就是布设多条交叉重叠的测线,考核交叉重叠点的测深误差;绝对精度评估方法是在多波束测深的同时利用高精度的测深仪测量同一区域,用此参考地理模型来检验多波束测深的精度。根据误差理论,三种精度评估的方法分别从系统稳定性、自符合性和系统误差方面确定各误差源的综合误差,它们是检验多波束测深系统精度是否符合海道测量标准的有效方法。文中给出了系统试验数据的重要结果及设备验收的方法。  相似文献

Monsoon depressions (MDs) constitute a large fraction of the total rainfall during the Indian summer monsoon season. In this study, the impact of high-resolution land state is addressed by assessing the evolution of inland moving depressions formed over the Bay of Bengal using a mesoscale modeling system. Improved land state is generated using High Resolution Land Data Assimilation System employing Noah-MP land-surface model. Verification of soil moisture using Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) and soil temperature using tower observations demonstrate promising results. Incorporating high-resolution land state yielded least root mean squared errors with higher correlation coefficient in the surface and mid tropospheric parameters. Rainfall forecasts reveal that simulations are spatially and quantitatively in accordance with observations and provide better skill scores. The improved land surface characteristics have brought about the realistic evolution of surface, mid-tropospheric parameters, vorticity and moist static energy that facilitates the accurate MDs dynamics in the model. Composite moisture budget analysis reveals that the surface evaporation is negligible compared to moisture flux convergence of water vapor, which supplies moisture into the MDs over land. The temporal relationship between rainfall and moisture convergence show high correlation, suggesting a realistic representation of land state help restructure the moisture inflow into the system through rainfall-moisture convergence feedback.  相似文献

利用1961—2015年辽宁省西部地区18个测站月降水量资料和东北地区209个测站1961—2015年月平均气温资料、NOAA重建的月平均海表温度资料以及88项大气环流指数、26项海温指数资料定义了适用于辽西地区的夏季标准化东北冷涡强度指数(NECVI)和冷涡降水预报因子,并对东北冷涡和辽西冷涡降水进行详细分析,结果表明:近55年,辽西地区冷涡降水夏季和年贡献率整体趋势较稳定,无明显变化,表现出18年左右的显著振荡周期。东北冷涡偏强年,NECVI指数偏大,标准化降水指数(SPI)偏高,对应辽西地区降水偏多;反之,东北冷涡偏弱年,NECVI指数偏小,SPI指数偏低,对应辽西地区降水偏少。前期3月Nino 3区海表温度距平指数、5月黑潮区海温指数、3月西太平洋副高强度指数均与辽西冷涡降水显著相关,具有较好的指示意义,可作为冷涡降水的预报因子,为辽西夏季气候预测和人工影响天气工作的开展提供参考。  相似文献

Climate change impacts the quantity and seasonality of rainfall, threatening Africans' ability to maintain satisfactory yields on rain-fed farms. On the semi-arid northwestern slopes of Mount Kenya, irrigation systems structured around Community Water Projects (CWPs) provide households with piped water, which helps mitigate drought impacts and enhances resilience to increasingly variable rainfall patterns. The vision of these irrigation systems is to equitably distribute water resources among CWP members both for household consumption and to maintain or improve agricultural yields. However, not all households receive equal quantities of water from their CWPs, and little is known about the impact of water provisioning on farmers' opinions or perceptions of CWP performance.In this study, we relate respondents' satisfaction with their CWPs to the quantity of water delivered. Not surprisingly, farmers who received low quantities of water from their CWPs expressed above-average rates of concern regarding drought. In contrast, satisfaction with one's CWP was unrelated to the absolute quantity of water received (log liters/minute), but it was strongly associated with relative measures of water delivery: respondents who received less water than other members of the same water project experienced high rates of dissatisfaction, as did respondents who received less water than in the past. These results suggest that Kenyan farmers may feel particularly dissatisfied—and, perhaps, particularly driven to demand improved water governance—when they perceive inadequate water delivery relative to some reference group.Because relative water quantity dictates satisfaction even after controlling for factors that can be resolved internally at the CWP level (by, for example, striving for uniformity of water flows across and within households), water project managers are limited to some degree in their ability to improve satisfaction through better governance. That said, governance actions that prevent declines in flows over time (e.g. maintaining infrastructure to reduce leaks) could ostensibly lead to meaningful improvements in member satisfaction.  相似文献

本文利用镇江1961—2013年的观测资料以及2.5°×2.5°的逐日NCEP再分析资料,在分析镇江地区高温气候特征的基础上,着重对2013年的连续性高温天气进行诊断。结果表明:镇江夏季高温日数有明显的上升趋势,突变点为2000年,突变后2001—2013年比1961—2000年的年平均高温日数增幅近9 d;镇江地区的高温日数存在3~4 a,6 a,9~13 a,19~27 a的周期,2000年后的准3 a周期稳定存在;强盛且稳定的副热带高压及南亚高压与副热带高压形成的垂直环流的下沉增温,是2013年8月4—18日连续高温产生的重要原因;温度平流和垂直加热对持续性高温天气起积极作用,非绝热加热为负值;连续高温期间海上台风路径偏西偏南,中高纬无明显冷空气活动且2013年梅雨结束时间较早,都为镇江地区出现连续性高温天气提供了有利条件。  相似文献
