The simultaneous eruption in 1996 of andesite from Karymskyvolcano and of basalt from the Academy Nauk vent 6 km away appearsto provide a case of mafic recharge of an andesite reservoirfor which the time of recharge is exactly known and direct samplesof the recharging magma are available. The explosive phreato-magmaticeruption of basalt was terminated in less than 24 h, whereasandesite erupted continuously during the following 4 years.Detailed petrological study of volcanic ash, bombs and lavasof Karymsky andesite erupted during the period 1996–1999provides evidence for basaltic replenishment at the beginningof the eruptive cycle, as well as a record of compositionalvariations within the Karymsky magma reservoir induced by basalticrecharge. Shortly after the beginning of the eruption the compositionof the matrix glass of the Karymsky tephra became more maficand then, within 2 months, gradually returned to its originalstate and remained almost constant for the following 3 years.Further evidence for basaltic replenishment is provided by thepresence of xenocrysts of basaltic origin in the andesite ofKarymsky. A conspicuous portion of the plagioclase phenocrystsin the Karymsky andesite has calcic cores, with compositionsand textures resembling those of plagioclases in the AcademyNauk basalt. Similarly, the earlier portion of the andesiteof the eruption sequence contains rare olivines, which occuras resorbed cores in pyroxenes. The composition of the olivinematches that of olivines in the Academy Nauk basalt. The sequenceof events appears to be: (1) injection of basaltic magma intothe Karymsky chamber with immediate, compensating expulsionof pre-existing chamber magma from the Karymsky central vent;(2) direct mixing of basaltic and andesitic magmas with dispersalof phenocrysts associated with the basalt throughout the andesiteso that newly mixed magma appeared at the vent within 2 months;(3) re-establishment of thermal and chemical equilibrium withinthe reservoir involving crystallization in the new hybrid liquid,which returned the melt composition to ‘normal’,formed rims on inherited calcic plagioclase, and caused theresorption of dispersed olivine xenocrysts. Taken together,these findings indicate that the Karymsky magma reservoir wasrecharged by basalt at the onset of the 1996 eruptive cycle.The rapidity and thoroughness of mixing of the basalt with thepre-existing andesite probably reflects the modest contrastin temperature, viscosity, and density between the two magmas. 新疆天山北部地区存在有石炭纪的埃达克岩-高镁安山岩-富Nb玄武质岩组合,并且其中许多岩石与铜(金)矿床伴生(如达巴特、阿希、土屋-延东、赤湖,等等)。埃达克岩富钠、高Sr但亏损Y与Yb,无明显Eu-正Eu异常以及正Sr异常与Nb、Ti亏损。高镁安山(闪长)岩是本次研究首次报道的,这些岩石无明显Eu-正Eu异常以及Nb、Ti亏损,普遍具有高的MgO和Cr、Ni含量,其中阿希金矿区一些样品类似于日本西南新生代Setouchi弧火山岩带中的赞岐岩类。富Nb玄武质岩富钠贫钾,具有微弱负.正Ba、Nb和Ti异常以及高的Nb/La比值,不同于大多数正常岛弧玄武岩。天山北部地区石炭纪埃达克岩具有高的8Nd(t)(+3.4-+9.0)和低的(^87Sr/^86Sr)i(0.7032—0.7043)。富Nb玄武质岩具有变化的εNd(t)(+3.6-+11.6)和(^87Sr/^86Sr);(0.7007—0.7067)。我们的研究表明,天山北部地区石炭纪埃达克岩-高镁安山岩-富Nb玄武质岩组合可能是“埃达克岩交代的岛弧岩浆岩系列”。埃达克岩最有可能由石炭纪北天山洋的年轻洋壳在俯冲过程中熔融形成。另外,俯冲板片产生的熔体以及所释放的少量流体在上升过程中可能交代地幔楔橄榄岩或与其发生反应:一方面,触发地幔楔橄榄岩发生熔融形成富Nb岛弧玄武质岩;另一方面,地幔组分迅速进入到板片熔体中,导致其地幔组分增加,乃至形成高镁安山岩。因此,天山北部地区石炭纪埃达克岩-高镁安山岩-富Nb玄武质岩组合表明:(1)天山北部地区石炭纪可能为岛弧环境而非裂谷环境;(2)天山地区石炭纪的地壳生长可能以侧向增生为主;(3)除了亏损地幔之外,俯冲洋壳的熔融可能也在地壳的生长中发挥了重要的作用;(4)俯冲板片产生的埃达克质岩浆具有高的氧逸度,而其与地幔楔橄榄岩的强烈相互作用将导致地幔中的金属硫化物分解,成矿金属元素进入到岩浆中。这可能是新疆北部铜金矿化与一些埃达克岩、高镁安山(闪长)岩或富Nb岛弧玄武质岩密切共生的基本原因。  相似文献

Under the condition of freeze-thaw cycles, two types of rocks (granite and andesite), used as slope protection for the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, were tested according to the special climatic conditions in the Tibetan Plateau, and their various damage processes in appearance were carefully observed. Observation results show that damage of andesite was more serious than that of granite. Using an acoustic instrument, ultrasonic velocity was tested. The changing trends of velocity with the number of freeze-thaw cycles were analyzed, and the freeze-thaw cycle damaging the physical and mechanical properties of rocks can be seen. According to the changing trends of ultrasonic velocity with the number of freeze-thaw cycles, mechanical parameters of rocks, such as dynamic elasticity modulus, Poisson’s ratio, and dynamic bulk modulus were analyzed. It is found that they all have declining trends as the number of freeze-thaw cycles increases, and in particular, when the cycle number reaches a certain extent, the Poisson’s ratio of rocks begins to become negative.  相似文献

前河金矿床位于秦岭造山带内,矿体赋存于低绿片岩相变质的中元古界熊耳群安山质火山岩地层中,严格受断裂控制。通过对前河金矿深部和外围找矿工作发现,石家岭矿段发育有矽卡岩化岩石,主要发育于合峪花岗岩体北部赋存金矿体的F4断裂附近,围岩是低绿片岩相的安山质火山岩,并且在前河大桥附近有石榴子石脉产出;岩相学特征及电子探针成分分析表明,该矽卡岩化岩石由钙铁石榴子石、透辉石-钙铁辉石、绿帘石、绿泥石、阳起石、石英和方解石等矿物组成,经历了干矽卡岩阶段、湿矽卡岩阶段以及石英硫化物阶段这一典型演化过程;褐帘石电子探针成分和穆磁铁矿具赤铁矿的假象表明,湿矽卡岩阶段具有还原性特征。因此,前河金矿矽卡岩化可能由附近合峪花岗岩岩浆热液交代形成。  相似文献

An 40Ar/39Ar age of 45·1 Ma determined for lavas fromnorthern Saipan confirms that these high-silica rhyolites eruptedduring the ‘proto-arc’ stage of volcanism in theIzu–Bonin–Mariana system, which is characterizedelsewhere by eruption of boninitic lavas. Incompatible traceelement concentrations and Sr, Hf, Nd, and Pb isotope ratiosfor these rhyolites are transitional between those of c. 48Ma boninitic lavas and post-38 Ma ‘first-arc’ andesitesand dacites from Saipan and Rota that have typical subduction-relatedcompositions. These transitional compositions are modeled bycrystal fractionation of parental tholeiitic basalt combinedwith assimilation of young boninitic crust. A second stage ofRayleigh fractionation in the upper crust is required by SiO2concentrations that exceed 77 wt % and near-zero compatibleelement concentrations. First-arc magma compositions are consistentwith fractionation of basalt and assimilation of crust similarin composition to the first-arc magmas themselves. The mantlesources of the proto-arc and first-arc lavas from Saipan andRota are similar to those of Philippine back-arc basin basaltsbased on Nd and Hf isotopic compositions. The Pb isotope compositionsof these lavas are between those of Pacific sea-floor basaltsand Jurassic and younger cherty and clay-rich sediments. Thiscontrasts with the boninitic proto-arc volcanic rocks from Guamand Deep Sea Drilling Project Sites 458 and 459 that have Pbisotope compositions similar to Pacific basin basalts and volcaniclasticsediments. The preferred explanation for the difference in thenature of proto-arc volcanism between Saipan and other fore-arclocations is that the crust ceased extending 3–4 Myr earlierbeneath Saipan. This was caused by a change from mantle upwelling,fore-arc extension, and shallow melting to an environment dominatedby more normal mantle wedge convection, stable crust, and deepermelting. Crystallization experiments at 400 MPa, oxidized condition (logfO2= NNO + 1, where NNO is nickel–nickel oxide buffer) andover a range of temperatures (850–950°C) and fluidcomposition (XH2Oin = 0·3–1) have been carriedout to constrain the storage conditions of the sulphur-richmagma of the Huerto Andesite (an anhydrite, pyrrhotite, andS-rich apatite-bearing, post-Fish Canyon Tuff mafic lava). Theresults are used to evaluate the role of fluids released fromthe crystallization of magmas such as the Huerto Andesite onthe remobilization of the largely crystallized dacitic FishCanyon magma body. Experiments were performed using the naturalandesitic bulk composition with and without added sulphur. Thepresence of sulphur slightly affects the phase equilibria bychanging the phase proportions, stability fields of plagioclase,pyroxenes and ilmenite, and also affects the plagioclase composition.Phase equilibria and mineral composition data indicate thatthe magma may have contained 4·5 wt % water in the meltand that the pre-eruptive temperature was 875 ± 25°C.Assuming that the magma was in equilibrium with a fluid phase,the CO2 concentration of the melt is estimated to be in therange 2000–4000 ppm (at 400 MPa). Before eruption, theandesite had an oxidation state very close to, or slightly within,the co-stability field of anhydrite–pyrrhotite at NNO+ 1·1. At these conditions, the sulphur content in themelt is 500 ppm. Assuming open-system degassing resulting fromcontinuing crystallization at depth, most of the CO2 dissolvedin the andesitic melt should be released after the crystallizationof <10 vol. % of the magma, corresponding to a cooling from875 to 825–850°C. Thus, the fluids released owingto crystallization processes should be mainly composed of waterat temperatures below 825°C. 沿扬子板块北缘大巴山弧形断裂出露的新元古代龙潭河组主体为一套富火山碎屑沉积岩夹原生火山碎屑岩组合。长期以来,它们以及上覆砂砾岩组合(木座组)(前人认为冰蹟岩)统被解释为扬子板块北缘新元古代陆内裂谷和被动陆缘沉积。龙潭河组岩石组合包括杂砂岩、含砾粗砂岩、砾岩、凝灰质粉砂岩夹(含砾)凝灰岩。砂岩碎屑组成研究表明,龙潭河组碎屑以火山岩岩屑和斜长石为主,少量石英,砾岩砾石主要为玄武岩、玄武安山岩/安山岩。这些特征表明物源区主要出露中、基性火山岩和富火山碎屑沉积岩,少量长英质岩石,源区大地构造背景为岛弧。本文对一套具有近源堆积特征的火山质砾岩进行了碎屑锆石LA-ICP-MS U-Pb定年分析,结果显示锆石具有两组集中年龄群,峰值分别为~770 Ma和~705 Ma,表明源区存在至少两期岩浆活动。龙潭河组砾石、岩屑和锆石较差的磨圆度和分选性共同表明它们为一套近源沉积,碎屑组成表明物源区为~705 Ma岛弧,形成于弧后环境。龙潭河组物源区岛弧构造背景的确定暗示南秦岭造山带北大巴山地区与俯冲相关的岛弧构造体制一直持续到~705 Ma。  相似文献

利用凝灰岩夹层及安山岩的锆石U-Pb同位素测年,对云岗盆地晚中生代地层充填序列的关键时限进行了限定。结合地层接触关系、安山岩的地球化学特征,分析了重点地质界面的构造意义。取得了以下主要认识:(1)早中侏罗世,盆地为一套湖进序列的连续沉积,以大同组含煤地层为代表,暗示着区域拉张的构造背景;(2)盆地整体缺失了晚侏罗世(160.4±1.1)Ma至早白垩世(130.1±0.7)Ma的沉积地层,其发生的动力学背景可能与古太平洋、西伯利亚、特提斯同时向东亚大陆汇聚产生的远程效应有关;(3)旧高山安山岩形成于早白垩世(130.1±0.7)Ma大陆板内裂谷的构造背景,与华北克拉通破坏的动力学背景紧密相关。研究成果对旧高山安山岩时代归属提出了新的认识,并不归属于上侏罗统髫髻山组,而相当于下白垩统张家口组。  相似文献
